Beautiful Sentiments ~ Amazing Paper Grace

Hello friends~  I'm back with two more cards using new stamps and dies from the Amazing Paper Grace release from Spellbinders.

I wanted this post to give focused attention on the sentiments included in the Beautiful Inside and Out Sentiments Clear Stamp Set, which is part of the Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection by Becca Feeken.

This set has seven clear photopolymer stamps which add wonderfully designed greetings to any of your paper crafting projects, covering a multitude of life events from anniversary to sympathy.

I added a band of leaves from Petite Floral Potpourri die set to each card and one of the flowers from the same set.

No Paper Included

Hi Everyone, I wanted to pop in and show you a dresser that I refinished.  That's right...... a piece of furniture.  No paper included in this post.  (wink)

Anyone that knows me, knows that I love anything vintage.    I have this dresser that came from my great grandmother's house that I've been using in our guest room.  I recently re-decorated the guest room in warm floral tones with lots of color.  I felt that the black dresser, whose finish was not in great condition, needed a little "pick-me-up".

Here's the dresser in its original condition.  I had already pulled the knobs off when I took the picture and washed it down with plain water and then let it dry.  As you can see the finish is a little rough.  The top had gobs of something mysterious stuck all over it.  I sanded that down enough to make it smooth.

The dresser got two coats of Cream color Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

I then gave it a light sanding, distressing the edges and random places to make it look like the paint has rubbed off.  This could have been a good place to stop but I found these rub on transfers one day when I was scrolling at Scrapbook.com and just had to try them.

I started by adding the Flower Collector transfer by Re-Design.  It has a wonderful vintage advertising look.  It took lots of rubbing but it transferred beautifully.    I then added one of the flower transfers from The Flower Fields.  This came with two transfers, so I still have one left that I can use on a different project or I can cut it and use individual flowers on other projects as well.

I love how it turned out and it brightens the room up so much.

I hope you'll check out Scrapbook.com.  They have so much more than just paper crafting supplies.  You never know what you'll find.

Good morning stamping friends~  The Sisterhood of Crafters is starting a new challenge today and it's anything goes.
I recently purchased this Marianne Designs Circle Layout Die and I am in love with it!!  It's a generous 6" in diameter and I love how you can layer the little sections using the dies included in the set.  I used beautiful Mintay paper called Lovely Day.

I hope you'll visit The Sisterhood of Crafters blog and join in on the fun.

Spread Kindness ~ Amazing Paper Grace

Good morning friends ~ I'm back with card #2, using fabulous new dies from the Amazing Paper Grace new release from Spellbinders.

I started by cutting the Heartfelt Thanks Vignette frame out of a soft yellow cardstock, backed with beautiful script printed paper from Golden Swan paper pack, which is now discontinued.  I added the two scroll designs, which are separate dies included in the set, cut from white cardstock for added interest.

I stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Inside & Out Sentiments to white cardstock, cut using the smallest oval from Nestabilities Hemstitch Ovals.  These ovals pair perfectly with the Heartfelt Thanks Vignette.  The flowers and leaves were cut using Petite Floral Potpourri.  I added some Distress Oxide Inks to the centers and edges using finger sponge daubers.

This card turned into an Easel card.  I just love the pink country gingham and soft yellow together.  I added another sprig of greenery and a simple flower from the Petite Floral Potpourri set to the inside of the card.

The Heartfelt Thanks Vignette is a super versatile die set which includes six dies.

Here is a picture of the card I posted yesterday.  You can see how simply changing up the papers you use, can make a big difference on the feel of the card.  The Heartfelt Thanks Vignette set can be used for elegant wedding or anniversary cards straight through to warm and inviting country cards.  You can also see two of the several different style of flowers that are included in the Petite Floral Potpourri die set.

Elegant Heartfelt Thanks ~ Amazing Paper Grace

I've been blessed this month with a wonderful opportunity to work with some new stamps and dies designed by the amazingly talented Becca Feeken, from Spellbinders.  I chose three products from her newest Amazing Paper Grace release to work with and I'm excited to share the first card I made using Heartfelt Thanks Vignette and Petite Floral Potpourri.

The Heartfelt Thanks Vignette Set is perfect for making elegant layered cards, gift boxes, and more in no time! This die set features 7 dies.  I started with the beautiful layered Heartfelt Thanks Vignette die, cutting the frame out of gold sparkle cardstock, and cutting the sentiment portion out of soft, teal blue cardstock.

I layered the frame onto an embossed base using a Blistered Embossing Folder and adding chipboard to the inside oval portion to give it some dimension.

I cut the flowers from the Petite Floral Potpourri set out of white cardstock and added a bit of Squeezed Lemonade DOX ink to the centers of each little flower.  I molded each flower on a soft molding mat using the Stylus Tips for Tool N' One.  The leafy spray is also from the Petite Floral Potpourri set.  I added a bit of Mowed Lawn DOX ink to the leaves and attached them up the left side of the oval and randomly added the flowers, using candy dots for the centers of the flowers.

Here's a list of the products I used, that can be found at Spellbinders:

(There are seven different flower styles included in the Petite Floral Potpourri set, as well as two different leaf choices and three centers for the flowers to choose from.  You'll see more of them in future posts coming up this week.)

I mentioned that I chose three sets from this new release to work with.
Come back tomorrow to see all three products in action!

Thank you so much Spellbinders for this wonderful opportunity to work with your products!

The Sea Is Calling ~ Double D

Hello my friends.  Double D Challenge is kicking off a new challenge today with the "Signs of Summer". Nothing says "summer" more to me than spending a day at the ocean.  ...Toes in the sand, listening to the ocean waves roll upon the seashore and watching, waiting for the infamous mermaid to appear.

I used papers from Sea Maiden Seven from Authentique to create a twist panel pop up card to give to a friend who loves mermaids.

The twist panel pop up die is from Karen Burniston.  Each of the images fit the panels perfectly.  The post card image on the bottom panel is a left over piece from Graphic 45.  I'm glad to finally have found a place to use it.

I made a belly band using Velcro dots on the back to hold it closed.

Here's the inspiration photo to get you started:

I was inspired by that cute little girl walking on the beach with her pail.  I think perhaps she's really a mermaid....

I hope you'll hop on over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see more inspiration from my talented team mates and join in on the fun!

This makes it so easy for us, as a design team, and for you, as a participant!

Check out this lovely shaped card with lattice and scroll detail!  I used a Joy Crafts Oval & Rectangle die that I purchased during one of the Special Order Events at Dies R Us.  Isn't it gorgeous?

I added a pretty vintage image in the oval section and the birthday sentiment is from Creative Expressions "A Little Birdie Told Me".

Flashy Flamingos ~ TSOC

It's time again for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters and Diane has chosen the theme "Water, Water, Water!"  I guess it's pretty clear what we're looking for, huh?

I pulled out a fun Ocean Scene die from Hello Bluebird.  They seriously have some of the cutest scene dies around!

After coloring each of the scene panels using Distress Inks, I added two pink flamingo's from PTI's "Some Like It Hot".  I think this turned out bright and fun and hopefully it will bring some sunshine to someone's day.

You can find all the details and join in on the fun here.

National Donut Day

Happy National Donut Day!  Who knew??  I personally live under a very large rock and am always one of the last people to jump on board with something new.  And, maybe National Donut Day isn't new.... but it's new to me.  I just heard it on the radio today on my way to work.   That got me thinking about what I have in my crafty stash that could help me celebrate this most honorable day.

This set called "Donut Worry" was a freebie from Sweet N' Sassy Stamps a while back and I've never used it.  After digging through my stamps for over half an hour to find it, it finally saw ink.

Life is short, so I hope you'll take this advice and go out and get yourself a donut!

Bee Inspired ~ Giving Thanks ~ Double D

Good morning friends~  There's a new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges and we want you to "Bee Inspired".

Here's what  I came up with for the challenge:
I used some older sets for today's card, pulling out things that haven't been used in quite some time.

Starting with the Hexagon Cover Plate from PTI.  I cut both solid and printed yellow paper and trimmed off the hexagons I didn't want, to give it the look of random honey comb.  The bees are incredibly old dies from Quickutz and the flowers are from PTI.

Here's the prize that's up for grabs when you play along:

I do hope you'll come join us by clicking here.

Bold Patterned Birthday ~ DRU

Good morning friends~ There's a new challenge starting up over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and if you recall, the theme is "Anything Goes" all year long!
This makes it so easy for us, as a design team, and for you, as a participant!

Today's card is bold and busy but I like how it turned out using different patterned papers from my scrap box.  The Stitched Tulip from Impression Obsession is so sweet and it can be layered in any number of ways.

I chose stripes for the first layer, adding the solid layer on top but I can see it layered in coordinating colors, prints and polka dots too.
I've layered the lime green polka dotted oval over the oval from Impression Obsessions Quilted Frame.  You have to look really close, it's tone on tone so it's hard to see.

The banner in the top left corner was made using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Banners and Layered Banners.

I hope you'll visit the DRU Challenge blog to see more inspiration from our amazing design team and join in on the fun.  While you're there, be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you can be one of the first to be notified of their special order events.
