PTI October Blog Hop

It seems like just yesterday I was enjoying the warmth of the summer sunshine and the beauty of our flower gardens and here it is, late October and I'm thinking about Christmas already!! My, how time has flown by!! This month's PTI blog hop is inspired by the scene's and scents of the holiday season coming quickly upon us. Take a look at this beautiful inspiration photo and tell me you don't feel a little bit excited about the coming Christmas season.


I was so wishing I had PTI's new Spruce & Sprigs stamp set for this challenge but I made do with what I do have.

I used Out On A Limb and the sprigs from Peaceful Pine Cones to create my scene. The berries were stamped from the Ruby Rose set and covered in stickles. I die cut the top layer of the Holiday Double Cuts word "Merry" from the panel and then added the bottom layer of the die cut, in pure poppy.


I made this bonus card because I was inspired by the Christmas ornament in the box of greens.
I used Tag Sale #4 in pure poppy and added a strip of white that I cut using a landscape die to give it the curved angle. Some white dots were added with a gel pen. I stamped a snowflake from Peace Be Still and heat embossed the sentiment in gold, bending it slightly to fit the curve. Die cut sprigs and cones from Peaceful Pine Cones frame the ornament. I added a fun little Melissa Phillips "junk bow" to the top and a cute little dove to the bow.

    Beautiful, beautiful cards Birgit! The 2nd one is my favorite...WOW! Very creative using the different sets and I LOVE the sentiment and the junk bow. Well done my friend! Off to church and I'll catch up with the rest of the hop this afternoon! :0)

    You are amazing! Totally had to read how you did the 2nd card, loved the look! And love the junk bow too (have to come up with another name!) The first card is equally gorgeous, Birgit, but simply had to tell you how I love the cleverness of the 2nd!

    Love these so much, Birgit, but my heart did a little jump when I saw your Merry Chritmas number. So traditionally yummy with the greens and that die cut. I need to get mine out!

    You've confirmed it...I need Peaceful Pinecones. I love how you used it with Out on a Limb. It's beautiful. And your 2nd card, I 'see' the inspiration photo in that card. It's perfect! Great projects.
