Guest Designing for A Cut Above

Good morning friends~  My dear friend Vicki Robertson started a new challenge blog, A Cut Above, on July 1st and I couldn't be more inspired and excited to see a challenge that focuses on die cuts.

If you know me at all, you know that I love working with die cuts!

I am honored to be joining her this month as a guest designer, and since August is known for the dog days of summer I thought a relaxing beach card would be perfect for this month as the theme is "Anything Goes".

I pulled out several of my favorite beachy, summertime sets to make this clean and simple card.

All of these dies come from my years of designing for Dies R Us and they're most likely all retired now, but their timeless design make them "keepers" in my book.

I know Vicki would be so appreciative if you visited her new challenge blog, A Cut Above, become a follower and support her by playing along.  She is giving away a gift card to A Cherry On Top to the winner, which will be randomly drawn from all the participants.

Thanks for stopping by!

Farm Fresh Mason Jar Card ~ Double D Challenges

Good morning, friends~ It's the first Wednesday of the month so that means it's time for a new challenge over at Double D Challenges.  The theme is "Baa-Cluck-Moo-Neigh-Oink-Quack", or in my case.... "Cock-A-Doodle-Doo!"
I was stumped on what I was going to do for this challenge, as I don't have many farm animal stamps or dies, but I did find this Rooster from Papertrey Ink, that had been sitting in my NBUS pile.

The card base was made using Honey Bee Stamps Mason Jar Card.  I love the generous size of this die.  It allows plenty of room for this handsome rooster.

The flowers are from Spellbinders Garden Shutters Collection, "Daisy Delight" and the "Picket Fence" is from Amy Design.

Here's a list of products I used to make today's card:

Papertrey Ink Feathered Friends #20 Rooster
Honey Bee Stamps Mason Jar Card
Spellbinders Garden Shutters Daisy Delight
Amy Design Picket Fence

Please stop in and visit Double D Challenges to see what my talented teammates came up with.  Here's the mood board to help inspire you:

And here's what you could win when you play along.

Spring Blossoms ~ DRU

Hello friends~ It's the first of the month so that means that there's a new challenge starting up over at Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is "Flowers/Spring".

Today's card is a slimline card featuring Amy Design Blossom Branch.  This is a lovely spring set with many different styles of flowers and leafy branches.

For the background, I started by cutting the stitched scalloped panel using Heffy Doodle Slimline Pull Tab Die Set.  This was purchased during a special-order event at Dies R Us.  I embossed a sky-blue cardstock panel using a cloud embossing folder and added a brick embossed panel on the bottom to make it look like a brick wall in the garden.  I then added three Blossom Branches, from Amy Design.

I colored the flowers using Distress Oxide Inks and then added a generous coat of Wink Of Stella to make them sparkle.  The sentiment is stamped on two, layered Colwell Labels from Poppystamps.  I added some iridescent gems to finish it off.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us:

Amy Design Blossom Branch
Heffy Doodle Slimline Pull Tab Dies (Special Order Event)
Poppystamps Colwell Label Set
Distress Oxide Inks

The Heffy Doodle die set was purchased during a "Special Order Event" that Dies R Us offers quite often.  Be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you can be notified of these awesome events!

I hope you'll pop on over to the Dies R Us Challenge blog to see what my talented teammates have created and join in on the fun!
