He Is Risen

Good morning friends~ I found some time to spend in my craft space, finishing up some Easter cards I had started weeks ago.  I made six of this same design.  That's something I never do!  I like my cards to be different.

It turned out to be a lot of work cutting all the pieces for this lovely book die from The Greetery called "Have A Spine" and the empty tomb from Cottage Cutz.  Not to mention inking all the rocks.

I stamped the Hymn Song: Christ The Lord Is Risen, also from The Greetery, and made it as a separate page inside the book.

In the end, I like how they turned out.  While bunnies are cute and often used as a symbol to celebrate Easter, I wanted to commemorate the real reason we celebrate this Holy season.  I do however, have some cute bunny things coming soon.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
A Cut Above ~ March / Anything Goes
Double D Challenges ~ Easter / Church / Cross

Thanks for stopping by!

When it's something as lovely and special as this, you have to make more than one! Just as Marcia said, it's the perfect way to celebrate our Savior!

Wow! The book looks amazing! Love the spine and the front cover! Lots of work for 6, but I bet making them was pure JOY! That is one of my top Hymns and prob will be playing in my head all day, which is kind of nice! Beautiful creation!

I am very impressed with your Easter card/book. I was the church organist in high school and I remember this hymn very well. I too love the bunnies, but the real reason that we celebrate this holiday is so much more important. You have done that here.

Absolutely fabulous, amazing design Birgit! And 6? Looks very work intensive but certainly worth the effort. I love this book style die and the "New Beginnings" on the spine. The inking on the stones make them look realistic and the gold for the pages is a great detail. I was in church choir for so many years and remember this song well. It was how every Easter service began. Like Christmas, celebrating the true meaning of Easter seems to be a lost occasion today. I'm sure whoever receives one of these will certainly appreciate it.

This is just wonderful, I like the book dies but that stone rolled away from the empty tomb is just spot on, that is what I think of at Easter, the empty tomb, I didn't know there were dies out there like this, Perfect Easter card!

Absolutely beautiful and such dedication to create six of them! It's very moving and I know that's the effect each card will have on its recipient. Birgit, thank you for sharing with us at Double D.
