A New Tiny Blessing

Hello dearies!  My heart is overflowing with gratefulness and joy as I share this exciting news that we have a tiny little blessing added to our family recently.

Lachlann Rhŷs entered this world weighing a healthy 5 pounds 12 ounces.  He is so incredibly precious!

His brother "Mr. C" thinks he's pretty special too.  The family is doing well and settling in at home.  My heart is overjoyed that he's healthy and a good size.

Since Valentine's Day is coming right up, I just had to make him a card to let him know how much he is loved.

The stamp set was a freebie from Papertrey ink.

The darling Nursery die set is from HoneyBee Stamps.  Lachlann's bassinet looks just like this one, canopy and all!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
A Cut Above ~ Anything Goes
AAA Cards ~ Color Challenge

Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Just Us Girls ~ Die Week

Update on My Little Superhero

Hello friends.  It's been a while since I've given an update on my little superhero.

He was released to come home in late September, only to be readmitted on October 18th.  He has not been gaining weight as much as the doctors think he should have been.  He's been having some feeding issues and is very uncomfortable.  As much as we all enjoyed the fact that he was home, (earlier than any of us expected) I know that he needs to be in the hospital until he is healthy and big enough to be at home.  He's up to 4 pounds 11 ounces.

Someone made and donated these superhero capes to all the babies in the NICU and CCU.  He truly is my superhero.

I had made this card for my daughter when baby was home, and she was struggling trying to keep her home in order, while trying to meet the needs of her newborn preemie.

I would spend the days when I was visiting folding laundry, helping wherever I could, and of course holding my sweet little one.

Sadly, the card arrived in her mailbox on the same day that he ended up going back into the hospital.  She felt a little defeated, but she's doing a great job keeping everything together.

The Nursery

Hello friends, I wanted to share a card I made using colors for the Color Throwdown challenge.

I used Honeybee Stamps Rock-A-Bye-Baby die set to create this adorable card.

I taped the background off and did some ink blending for the floor and the walls, and added some stenciled hearts to the walls using a very old stencil.  But look at the detail these dies have.  You can see the braids in the rug.  It is such a sweet die set.

There's only a couple days left to link up to the Color Throwdown challenge.   I'm getting my card in just under the wire.

You can find this die set at ScrapbookPal

I also wanted to share an update on our little grandson.
He's just over a week old and is doing well, breathing on his own.  He lost weight, but put weight back on, so he's now slightly over his birth weight.  He weighs 2 pounds 13 ounces.  He's certainly feisty, as he's pulled the feeding tube out of his nose several times.  I look forward to the day when I can meet him for the first time and hold him.  He's a tiny bundle of joy!

For This BABY, We Have Prayed

Hello friends!  I'm over the moon excited, to share with you this joyful news, that my daughter Amanda gave birth to a wee little baby boy on September 6th.  YES!  Just yesterday, we welcomed baby boy Swan into the world, via c-section.
He's a wee little one, weighing just 2 pounds 11 ounces and 15" long, but the staff said he was "feisty".

As you may or may not recall, my daughter Amanda had another premature baby boy, "Jackson James" back in July of 2019 and sadly, he only lived for five days.  Jackson weighed just over one pound.  Amanda has had a tough time for several years, having lost 7 pregnancies to miscarriage and two live, but premature births (including this one).  We didn't think this day would ever come, that we would have a baby this size and to the term that she was able to carry it.  She made it to 36 weeks and two days.

My heart is overflowing with thankfulness and joy, to finally join the ranks of grand-parenthood.

And, for even more exciting news, my daughter-in-love, Allison, is also expecting a baby around December 3rd.  Two babies in one year, joining our family.  This is Allison's first pregnancy, and she is doing amazing!

Truly, my cup runneth over.  By His Grace, and because of His Goodness, I am blessed!

Thanks for indulging me and sharing in my good news.

Bunny Baby ~ Double D

Hello ~  I'm popping in with a card I made for the new challenge starting up over at Double "D" Challenges.  We're looking for projects that include anything with a tail.

I stamped this darling Beatrix Potter bunny from Stampin' Up! "Fabled Friends" and colored it using copic markers.  The gingham is cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Postage rectangles.  I added some Forget Me Not's from PTI and the sentiment banner is from PTI as well.

Here is the mood board to help inspire you:

And here's the prize that the lucky winner will receive.

Stop by the Double "D" Challenge blog to play along.

Flying Lion! ~ Dies R Us

Good morning friends~ There's a new challenge starting up over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and if you recall, the theme is "Anything Goes" all year long!
This makes it so easy for us, as a design team, and for you, as a participant!
For my card today, I used a darling die from Nellie's Choice called Lion In Airplane.  This is a special order die that I purchased during one of the many Special Order events that Dies R Us has.

The die set also comes with the body of the lion so he isn't stuck flying his plane all the time.

I hope you'll visit the DRU Challenge blog to see more inspiration from our amazing design team and join in on the fun.  While you're there, be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you can be one of the first to be notified of their special order events.

Baby Swan Gift Set

Good morning friends~  I've got a cutie pie gift set that I made and put together for my daughter's sister-in-law who's expecting a tiny baby girl in October.  As many of you know, I like to make my gifts based off the shower invitations I receive.  People choose their shower invitations as a means of reflecting their style so by coordinating the gift to go along with the invitation, I feel like it's more personal than just buying a gift.  This sounds strange, but personal invitations get my creative juices flowing.

For this gift, the baby shower had a sweet pink floral background with a swan wearing a gold crown.  How appropriate, since their last name is Swan.  Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for February 2019 titled "Golden Swan" was the perfect die set to start my layered scene.

I made the swan, using three layers of the wing to add dimension.  I pulled out lots of dies to create the surrounding scene.

Look at the detail on the pretty Elizabeth Craft Design Wisteria.  Can you guess how many hours it took me to cut, shape, glue and assemble that wisteria bush with glittered centers?  A long time!

Here's the invitation and the outfit I found on Amazon to go along with it.  The colors couldn't have matched more perfectly.  Cute as can be!  Right??

As it happened, I didn't have a girlie gift bag so I made my own, using scrapbook paper, some die cut trim, doily, and a pre-printed swan die from the Spellbinders card kit.

Here is the card I made to go along with it.

The baby shower is this weekend.  I hope she and baby likes this gift.

I'll be adding one of my hand made projects to the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Summer Memories
AAA Challenge ~ Along the Edge (Card with sentiment along the edge)
The Flower Challenge ~ Add Sparkle (Wisteria Flowers)

I also wanted to let you know that Spellbinders is giving away a FREE set of Wonderland StoryTime Paint Pens with any order over $75.00

You can also find more information about all their monthly kits HERE.

Baby Shower Inspiration

One of my favorite methods of inspiration comes when I receive a baby shower invitation in the mail.  In this case, the invitation was rustic, with a buffalo plaid background.  The couple are very outdoorsy and the dad is a hunter.
Here's a gift set I created using the invitation I received, as you can see in the photo.

I created the card using lots of dies.  Starting with the background, I used:
Frantic Stamper Birch Tree Forest
The bear is from a past Spellbinders Die Kit Of The Month
The sentiment was cut using Marianne Designs Letter Board.

I found this cute bear outfit, complete with ears on Amazon and the sign I found at Hobby Lobby, prior to the pandemic.

I created this framed wall decor using all the same dies, including a large deer from Taylored Expressions.  I added a little banner across the top with the baby's name.

Here is the complete set.  Cute as a baby bear in a bucket of honey!
The card fit into a slot that I cut into the gift bag, making it a removable decoration on the gift bag.

The baby shower was back in the beginning of February and I thought this set would be perfect for the new Cut It Up Challenge ~ Our Beautiful Earth.

I'll also be entering this card into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge ~ A is for Anything Goes

I hope you're staying in and staying healthy.
