Have A Holly Jolly One!

Hello friends ~  We just got back from visiting our son and his family in California, and I've slowly been trying to catch up on visiting blogs.  We went out to celebrate our sweet "P"s 3rd birthday. They're also coming home for Christmas, so December is flying by like a leaf in the wind.  Not much time for crafting, but I have a number of cards that I made last year that I never got around to posting so I figured this was a good time to share, as it fits into a couple of current challenges.

I used some retro style papers and die cuts from Carta Bella.

Don't you just love his rosy red cheeks?

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Anything Christmas
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Pretty Florals ~ Double D Challenge

Hey there crafty friend!  I'm so glad you stopped in.  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Pretty Florals".
Now who doesn't have a ton of florals in their crafty arsenal??
My biggest dilemma for this challenge was deciding which floral set I was going to use.

I finally decided on the Rainboot Planter from Simon Says Stamp.  I had just a few sheets left from Carta Bella's Spring Market Collection that needed to be used up and the rainboots on the printed paper went perfectly with these wellies.

I cut the wellies from a piece of printed paper from the pack and then paper pieced the flowers, which I colored with Copic markers.  I laid the boots over a vellum overlay to soften the papers behind the boots.

Still trying to use up the last bits of paper, I made another card just like it.
The same but different.  ;0)

Please do pop on over to Double D Challenges for a look at what my talented team mates have been up to and join in on the fun!

Sending Love ~ Hearts ~ Double D Challenges

Happy February friends!  I'm super excited that February has arrived!!  It's the month that we celebrate my daughter's birth (she's turning 29 this year) and it means we're one month closer to spring.  To ring in the first of the month, Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today with a heart theme.

I was crunching time when I made this card, using 6"x6" papers from Carta Bella "My Valentine" collection.

I let the papers do all the work, using one of the images from the paper pack as the focal point.  If you're wondering where the hearts are, look closely at the bottom of the image.  1.. 2.. 3... Three hearts!

A bit of bakers twine and some sequins add a bit of texture.  And just like that, my card was finished!

Come join in on the fun over at Double D Challenges.  Any project with a heart will be considered for the prize.

Spring Is In Full Bloom!

Good morning friends!  The season of spring may be in full bloom but here in Maine, as in lots of other parts of the country, it's snowed for two days!  The ground is covered once again in pretty white fluff.  My tulips were up out of the ground about two inches before the snow so I hope they'll survive.  Anyway, I thought I'd share some cards I made using
