Pretty Florals ~ Double D Challenge

Hey there crafty friend!  I'm so glad you stopped in.  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Pretty Florals".
Now who doesn't have a ton of florals in their crafty arsenal??
My biggest dilemma for this challenge was deciding which floral set I was going to use.

I finally decided on the Rainboot Planter from Simon Says Stamp.  I had just a few sheets left from Carta Bella's Spring Market Collection that needed to be used up and the rainboots on the printed paper went perfectly with these wellies.

I cut the wellies from a piece of printed paper from the pack and then paper pieced the flowers, which I colored with Copic markers.  I laid the boots over a vellum overlay to soften the papers behind the boots.

Still trying to use up the last bits of paper, I made another card just like it.
The same but different.  ;0)

Please do pop on over to Double D Challenges for a look at what my talented team mates have been up to and join in on the fun!

Retro Colorize Pine Cones ~ Double D Challenge ~ Pine Tree / Pine Cones

Good morning stamping friends.  There's a new challenge starting today over at Double D Challenge.  The theme is "Pine Tree / Pine Cones".
I was so happy about the timing of Tim Holtz's holiday release and the creation of this post on my blog.  His new line of Colorize dies is fabulous!  You can view them all by clicking here and here.

The pine cones in Festive Trims have a wonderful retro look, I couldn't resist ordering it the first time I saw it.  The layers are super easy to assemble using different shades of the same color cardstock.   For example, I used three brown tones to create the pine cones and two green tones for the pine sprigs.  The suggested color for each die is etched into the back of the dies, making it very easy!

I heat embossed a sentiment from Stampers Anonymous Christmastime 2 in silver on the blue background

...and gold on the brown background.

Oh, be still my vintage loving heart!

12 Kits of Occasion ~ May Flowers

Good morning stamping friends ~ It's the end of the month so that means it's time for a group post for the 12 Kits of Occasion gals to post our projects using kits put together by one of our amazingly talented team mates.  This month's kit was hosted by my very dear friend and incredibly creative Marcia Hill of Marcia's Stampin' Pad.

The theme of her kit is called April Showers Bring May Flowers.  If there's one thing Marcia knows how to do, it flowers!!  She's not afraid to try new techniques and she rocks every new technique every time!  I adored this delightful kit and the cards whipped together in a snap!

Now on to my cards:
I think this card is my favorite.  I adore this little Bundle Girl from Stampingbella holding her snowdrops.  She was super easy to color and she is just as cute as a button!!

Marcia had these tulips from PTI all stamped and ready to go.  All I had to do was add a strip of patterned paper and a bit of black glitter tape.  The sentiment banner is also from PTI.

I was a little hesitant to color this Penny Black image called "First Blush" because it was so pretty embossed in silver and I didn't want to ruin it.  In the end, I'm fairly pleased with how it came out.

I thought this paper was so pretty, I didn't want to put anything over it to cover those pretty flowers.  This sentiment die from Spellbinders still allows the paper to be the star of the show.

Marcia included so many wonderful images to color including this one from Simon Says Stamp, Mandy's Flowers.  I happened to have these eggs left over from Easter sitting on my desk and thought they went perfectly with the Farm Fresh theme.

Another sweet Penny Black image.  This one is called Daffodil Devotion.  LOVE!!

And last but not least, another favorite Stampingbella image, Tiny Townie Garden Girl "Lily Of The Valley".  Oh gosh, isn't she sweet?  I'll add a sentiment later, when I know what I want to use this card for.  For now, she's perfectly cute on this CAS card.

I hope you'll visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how the rest of my talented team mates used Marcia's fabulous kit.

Birthdays Galore!

Hello everyone ~  I thought I'd pop in and share a card I made for this weeks Win it Wednesday challenge at PTI.
The challenge is to make a card using your favorite layout.  My go to style is pretty plain but layered.  I used stamps from Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe and  seed pack elements from Garden Variety which is sadly discontinued.

While I'm here I thought I'd share another card celebrating Simon Says Stamps 10th Anniversary.
I used their Taco Party stamp set, which I received as a freebie with one of my orders.  My son loves tacos so this card was perfect for him!  I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Work It Wednesday ~ Pet Project

12 Kits of Occasion ~ April

Happy day!  It's the end of April and that means it's time to share my cards using this months kit, which was put together by my dear friend Kara from Bright Hope Creations.
Her kit is titled "For The Graduate" and it was filled with fun elements to celebrate the Graduate.

I'll waste no time and jump right in with my cards.  This female grad silhouette is jumping for joy!

This image from Stampingbella from the "Uptown Girl" series is called Grace The Graduate.  She is so sweet!  I'll be saving this card for my neice when she graduates from college in 2022.  Wow!  That seems a long time away.

This little elephant from Lawn Fawns Wild For You set makes a cute little grad.  He is encircled in the Congratulations Circle Frame from Simon Says Stamp.

Kara's kit included all the elements to make this colorful shaker card.

Kara took the time to make these awesome tassles out of DMC embroidery floss.  They're wonderful!!  Thank you so much Kara for a fun-filled kit!

I hope you'll visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my talented teamies were inspired to use Kara's kit.
