Monochromatic ~ Double D Challenges

Hello friends~  There's a new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges, and the theme is "monochromatic".

To make my card, I pulled out Pink Fresh Studio Mini Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle to make the frame on this mini slimline card.

I stamped the collaborative set, "Better Together" from Hero Arts & Reverse Confetti.  I backed it up using a piece of coordinating gingham printed paper.
ETA:  If you like this tulip image, The Better Together set is currently found in the clearance section at Scrapbook.com.

The sentiment is preprinted from Pink Fresh Studio Ephemera Pack Foiled Sentiments.  I also made a coordinating envelope using Pink Fresh Studio Mini Slimline Envelope die set.

Here's a list of links to the products I used today:

Here's the inspiration board to help jump start your creative juices:

And here's what you could win when you play along:

I hope you'll stop by Double D Challenges to see more monochromatic inspiration from my talented team mates and join in on the fun!

Silent Night

Good morning friends ~ I'm playing along this week with Hero Arts "Stay Crafty with Hero Arts" challenge.
I'm trying my hand at another CAS style card using Hero Arts Color Layering Snowy Tree and Poster Christmas Carols, which is a fabulous set but unfortunately no longer available.

I stamped the sentiment and tree image, embossing the snowy caps on the tree with white embossing powder.  I then lightly blended in some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink, masking off the bottom so I'd have a clear definition between the sky and the "snow".  The deer is stamped and die cut using the coordinating dies.  The panel is cut using Penny Black Stitched Nested Frames and mounted to a spruce green cardstock base.

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
CAS Christmas Challenge ~ Christmas Song
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Create A Scene

Beautiful Orchids

Good morning friends.  I'm popping in with a card I made for the Inspired By Challenge:

Here's their inspiration photo:
I was inspired by the geometric pattern on the pillow to create the background panel using Hero Arts Ombre Ink called Spring Day and an old background stamp that's so old, I don't even remember where it came from.

I cut the background panel using Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles and mounted it to an A2 size Hero Arts Kiwi Green cardstock base.  I picked up on the white flowers on the coffee table and used this beautiful orchid stamp from PTI.  The sentiment is from the same set.

And because I wasn't sure I was really happy with how the first card came out, I made a second one, just adding a strip of striped patterned paper from My Favorite Things and some sequins.

Which card do you like better?

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Dashing Through The Snow

Good morning friends~  It's time to dig out your doggie stamps and dies to make a card using your favorite pooch for the  Christmas Kickstart Challenge.  The theme is "Daschund Through The Snow".  The perfect play on words... just make sure you have a dog on your card.

I used an oldie but goodie stamp set from Hero Arts called Sledding.  This is such a great stamp set because it's got my favorite animals, all ready to slide down the hill on their little toboggan.  Notice the cat.... it reminds me of my cat Crazy...  She would totally do something like that!
Hero Arts - Christmas - Die and Clear Photopolymer Stamp Set - Sledding
If you act fast, you'll find this Hero Arts stamp and die set half price at Scrapbook.com.

Of course I had to use the dog to meet the challenge requirements but I included the little mouse, chasing after the dog who's lost his red cap while flying down the snow glittered hill!

There's plenty of time to play along in this fun challenge at Christmas Kickstart Challenge.

I'll also be adding this card to the following challenges:

3 Tags for 25 Days of Tags 2018

Hello ~ I'm popping in with three tags I made for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags challenge.  I'm trying to keep up with each days challenges but it's proving to be quite a challenge.  haha!
Here's my tag for day 2:

I was inspired by Svitlana Shayevich's tag using Altenew's Peaceful Wreath.  I didn't have that on hand so I used Hero Arts Color Layering Holly that I like equally as much.

Day 3:
I was inspired by Lindsey Larsen's soft and beautiful tags using Concord & 9th Ornamental DiesThose dies are now on my wish list but in the meantime, I used some ornament dies from Top Dog Dies, who are sadly now out of business.

Day 4:  I was inspired by Tricia Barbers cute Gnomes from Reverse Confetti.  Eeep they're cute!!
I used a new die set from Marianne Designs "Gnomes" to create my tag.

Be sure to visit Tracey's blog to see all the daily inspiration and join in on the fun!

Pumpkin Spice

Good morning ~  The heat wave is over here on the east coast and now it's rainy, cloudy and cool.  Yes, it feels like fall already!!  Though I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer yet, my crafting has definitely turned in that direction.  At least for today anyway.

I pulled out my much loved Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tag Frame Cuts and some favorite Echo Park fall printed papers to create this Pumpkin Spice Latte card to ring in the beginning of pumpkin season.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn Pumpkin Spice,

Hero Arts recently had a new "caffein fueled" monthly kit release that shouldn't be missed because coffee really is, always a good idea!

Inked Embossing Folders ~ Tupelo Designs

Hello friends~  I had a request to make some Get Well Soon cards so I decided to try the inked embossing folder technique using the ombre ink pads from Hero Arts that can be found at TupeloDesignsLLC.  You can find the entire line of ombre inks HERE and with FREE shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase, how could you not pick up a few of them?

The sentiments I used are retired from My Favorite Things but there are lots of great sentiments found in the store.  I stamped them on to Waffle Flower Nesting Rectangles.

I used this wonderfully detailed embossing folder from Ultimate Crafts called Bohemian Bazaar.

I inked up one side of the embossing folder using Butter to Orange Ombre Ink Pad by Hero Arts and then ran it through my die cutting machine with the embossing sandwich.  After removing the embossed panel, I turned the inkpad to alternate the colors and rubbed the ink gently over the raised portion to add more depth to the panel.

This card uses the Yellow to Orange Ombre Ink Pad

On these two cards, I embossed a piece of Shimmer Sheetz from my stash.  The detail shows up beautifully!  I added strips of Allton Decorative Glitter Tape to the top and bottom edges of the embossed panel. This tape comes in a rainbow of colors all in one package for less than $5.00!

Be sure to visit TupeloDesigsLLC and sign up for their news letter so you can be among the first to be notified about sales and new product arrivals.

TupeloDesignsLLC always offers FREE Shipping with no minimum purchase inside the U.S.  (Discounted shipping on International orders)  They also offer a Loyalty Rewards Program where shoppers receive 500 points ($5.00) just for signing up, then you receive 2 points for every $1 you spend.
Plus, there's always great sales going on so be sure to visit TupeloDesignsLLc where there's so many fun brand name products under one roof.

Baskets of Holly

Good morning friends!  Christmas season is upon us and I've got an easy project for adding to your Christmas card stash.

Here's a snapshot of the products I used today:

Here's what I did:
I started by cutting the Hero Arts Layered Holly leaves out of 65# Limeade Pop Tones cardstock. This is the perfect weight for die cutting and layering as it doesn't add too much bulk so your Christmas cards can be easily mailed.  I stamped each of the images using coordinating inks.

I used a stitched edge die to cut a piece of 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and a piece of 65# Wild Cherry Pop Tones and adhered the two using Score-Tape.

I found this fabulous basket weave design paper from Authentique "Cheerful" and it made me think of a pretty lined basket filled with fresh holly.

I assembled the cards using Tombow Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and added some Glossy Acdents and True Red Silk Microfine Glitter to the berries for added texture and interest.

The sentiments are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly set.

Limeade and Wild Cherry is such a refreshing color combination for Christmas.
Why don't you give it a try!
You'll find all of the RedGreen and White cardstocks on sale all month long at CutCardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Three Tags for 12 Tags of Christmas

Hello friends~ It feels good to be getting creative with paper, stamps and dies again.  I've got some tags that I made for Loll's 12 Tags of Christmas.  It's almost over so I'm glad I found time to play along.

Day 8 is inspired by Loll's "tweet" tag found here.
I started by creating my own stencil by cutting the Snowfall Reverse Cut Die from Frantic Stamper out of a piece of acetate.  Then I added some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the embossing paste before stenciling the snowflakes onto the background of the tag which was cut using MFT's Stitched Tag Stax.  The images from "For The Birds" by Sweet N' Sassy Stamps are stamped and colored with Copics.  The bells and holly images are from Avery Elle's "Kitsch Christmas".

Day 7 is inspired by Loll's guest designer Karen found here.
I started by cutting two Main St. Pinpoint Tags from Poppystamps in two graduating sizes.  The woodgrain patterned paper is from ECD Wood Effect from Moda Scrap.  The double cut word JOY is from PTI's Holiday Double Cuts.  The top layer is cut from silver cardstock and mounted on top of a strip of silver glitter paper.  The snowflakes are cut from white cardstock on which two of them were covered in Teal Silk Microfine Glitter from ECD.

Day 6 is inspired by my dear friend Marcia as she was Loll's guest designer for that day.  You can find her darling tag here.
I pretty much CASE-d Marcia's tag, changing it up just a little bit using what I had.  I cut a tag using PTI's Tag Sale #3 out of aqua mist cardstock and stamped some snowflakes from random sets in aqua mist ink.  I then cut another tag out of white cardstock and cut the center out using the Wildwood Collage die from Memory Box.  I added some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the snowy edge at the bottom and throughout the trees.  I cut the tree using Impression Obsession Fir Trees and went around the edges using a silver paint pen.  The deer is cut using Impression Obsession Small Deer.  He is colored with a copic and then edged with a bit of distress ink.  The tiny tag was stamped using Hero Arts Color Layering Snowy Tree.

You can find all the details of Loll's challenge here.

I'll be adding one of these tags to the following challenges:
Dies R Us ~ Snow
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Furry Friends
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
