Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July friends!  I'm celebrating our independence with a couple of cards for the occasion.

This card using this cute Patriotic Bear and Bunny image is from Miss Ink Stamps.

I purchased it last year and hadn't used it until now.  I colored the image with Copics and added white gel pen details.

I then die cut the image out using a postage die from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I blended in a bit of color before removing the image from the postage die.  This card has made its way across the country to my sweet little "P".

This next card uses the ever popular postage die from Waffle Flower.

I discovered that these patriotic dies from Frantic Stamper fit into each of the spaces perfectly.

I don't send out a lot of cards for this occasion, but found myself playing around with these supplies that seldom get used.

I'll be entering one of these cards into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Red, White and / or Blue
A Cut Above ~ July Anything Goes

Have a safe and happy 4th my friends!

Pond Life

Hello friends~  I'm just popping in with a card I made using The Pond Postage Collage stencils from Waffle Flower.  There are so many on the market today, it's hard to keep up.

I chose to use muted colors for this card.  Keeping things calm in my craft room.

I didn't add a sentiment as I thought the card was busy enough on it's own.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Memorial weekend.  May we always remember those who've made the ultimate sacrifice.

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
Stencil Fun ~ Optional theme of "bouquets", which I did not use.
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Just Us Girls ~ Stencil Week

Spring Has Sprung At The Pond

A good chilly mornin' to ya!  We woke up to 4 degrees this morning, but the sun is shining and it's warm and toasty in the craft room.

I picked up the Postage Collage "The Pond" stencils from Waffle Flower during an after Christmas sale and surely couldn't wait to get my fingers inky.

The Pond With Lily Pad dies were an extra that happened to hop right into my cart, as if they had a mind of their own.  I think that happy bullfrog might have had something to do with it.  The lily pads, flowers and cattails add a nice bit of dimension on this otherwise flat card, don't you think?

The colors make me think of the warmth and colors of spring.
I say bring it on!

I think I'll add this card to the following challenges:
Cut It Up ~ Something New
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Time Out Challenges ~ Your Favorite Thing To Do In January
(make cards)

A Cut Above ~ Anything goes with the option of "New"

Color Hues Color Challenge ~ Pink & Aqua

Hello crafty friends~
I'm so forgetful!  Honestly, the older I get the more I forget.

I made this card using the colors from Color Hues that my sweet friend Marcia is hosting and I almost forgot to post it.

I used some sweets from Marianne Designs and cut them in pink and brown (as a neutral) and added them to this every popular postage die from Waffle Flower.

The tin canister is a die from Joy Crafts.  I was so pleased how these yummy chocolates filled the spaces.
There's still time to join this challenge using Pink and Aqua over at Color Hues.
Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Pumpkin Postage ~ Double D Challenge

Pumpkin, pumpkin, who's got the pumpkin?
Double D Challenge does, that's who!  Yes, they're starting a new challenge and the theme is "Pumpkins".

I chose to pick from the vintage pumpkin patch for this challenge, using Honeybee Stamps Patchwork Pumpkin.

I gave it a postal vibe with an Elizabeth Craft Designs Postage Stamp Die and a Stitched Rectangle die.

The little postage stamp is from PTI Postmarks and the cancellation stamp is from Spellbinders Flea Market Finds collection, Sign Here.  There is a bit of text stamping in the background and the sentiment is from Honeybee Stamps.

There are oodles of directions you could go with this challenge and I'm sure the gallery is going to be filled with your beautiful work.  I can't wait to see your projects.
Here is the inspiration tile, brought to you by Darlene:

Here's the prize you could win when you play along.  Looking forward to seeing your cards in the linky over at Double D Challenge.

Sunflowers ~ Double D Challenge

Happy Wednesday paper crafting friends!  Are you ready for a new challenge over at Double D Challenge?  Diane has a delightful mood board for you for the next two weeks.

Sunflowers!  🌻🌻🌻 Who doesn't love a cheerful sunflower??
Here's how I was inspired by the upper right corner.

I'm all in when it's sepia toned!  I inked up the edges of the card front using Vintage Photo and Antique Paper DOX inks.

The sunny sunflower stamp is from Sizzix.  This stamp set was very easy to line up. The postage stamps are from Spellbinders.

While I had my supplies at hand, I made this CAS version, inspired by the lower right corner of the mood board.  I used a "sympathy" sentiment just so I could have a card on hand.  You never know when you'll need one and I'd rather make them when my heart isn't hurting.

I look forward to seeing how you're inspired over at the Double D Challenge.
Here's the prize that you could win when you play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Susan's Garden Azalea with Garden Pot ~ Spellbinders

Good morning crafty friends!  I've been spending as much time outside working in the flower gardens as possible when the sun is shining, but I was quite happy to take a break when these dies from Spellbinders arrived.  I was given the opportunity to work with these beautiful dies from Susan's Tierney-Cockburn, Nature's Botanical Garden Collection.

I chose the Azalea and Garden Pot with Lady Bugs to work with.  These flowers are truly stunning!  Note:  I did not add the lady bugs to my projects.

The background was made using Nested Postage Labels & Tags and Postage Numbers from the Bayfair by Rosie's Studio collection.  I created a collage style background by stamping images from Cathe Holden's Sign Here and Handle with Care.

The second card is much more clean and simple but equally pretty!

I love how gorgeous these flowers look when molded on a soft mat using a stylus ball tool from Susan's Ultimate Tool Kit.  The stamen have been fairy dusted with a bit of Yellow Paper Flower Pollen to give them a realistic look.

Here's a list of all the products I used that can be found at Spellbinders:

While typing up this post, our azalea bush was in full bloom.  It is stunning this year!

We had the blessing of babysitting our dear little "C" over Memorial weekend.  Here he is standing in front of the azalea bush, donning his red & blue to honor our veteran's and those who serve our country.

Sharing Christmas

Hello friends~  Are you all recovered from the busy-ness of the holiday?
Our Christmas turned out differently than we had planned.  Our son, daughter-in-love and sweet P all came down sick just before they were to fly home.  Allison contracted a bronchial infection and our sweet P had RSV.  Our son Christopher was the healthiest of them all, having had just a cold.  Needless to say, they didn't make it home for Christmas.
"A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps."
Proverbs 16:9

Perhaps The LORD has a better plan in store for us in His good timing.

Just thought I'd share some cards I made this season, that I never got around to sharing.
The Waffle Flower Postage Collage die and stencils have been such a hit this season.

I used up some bits and bobs that have been sitting in my die cut box just waiting to be used.

Various companies and so many possibilities.

This one is my favorite.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!  Looking forward to the new year!!

Vintage Christmas Postcard

Hello friends ~  I'm popping in with a Christmas card I made using the colors from Color Throwdown Challenge.

This line from Prima called Candy Cane Lane just happens to have the colors they're looking for: Pink, Magenta & Green.  Not to mention that the entire collection is as cute as can be!

I cut one of the papers with this sweet girl dressed in her vintage best, using Sizzix Snail Mail die and added some post card stamping and a die cut poinsettia, which I distressed to add to the vintage look.  The leaves are cut using an older Spellbinders Poinsettia die.

The pretty pink banner is from the coordinating ephemera pack.  The poinsettia makes this card eligible for the Peace On Earth challenge, using their mood board for further inspiration.

My card will be entered into the following challenges:
Color Throwdown ~ Color Challenge using Pink, Magenta & Green

Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
