Stash Busting

Hello friends!  Who of us does not have a mountain of patterned paper just waiting to be used?  In an effort to bust through my over abundant stash of papers (and stop spending $$), I am determined to use what I have.

I've been sitting on this marvelous pack of patterned paper from Echo Park for far too long.  It was time to put it to use.  I pulled out cardstocks in coordinating colors and star dies to get me started.

Along the card making journey, I added other dies like tags, banners and circle dies, as well as gems from my stash.

This is a picture heavy post, so I'll let the photo's take over from here.

Thanks for sticking with me.  I'm happy to say that most of this paper pack has been used except for a few leftover sheets which I'll be sure to use in future makes.  I hope I've inspired you today to use what you have and bust your stash.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
A Cut Above ~ Let's Start Off With A Bang!
Color Throwdown ~ Kraft, Red & Blue

The Paper Players ~ using the top row, Stars, Bling & Blue

Be safe and happy this 4th of July!

Reach For The Stars ~ Double D Challenge

Good morning crafty friends!  It's the middle Wednesday of the month so that means it's time for a new challenge over at Double D Challenges.  The theme for this week is "Reach For the Stars".

For some reason when I was writing down the challenge themes on my calendar, I simply wrote down "stars".

So, with stars in minds, I thought about making a card for Independence Day.  I hope that works.  We'll see if this gets me kicked off the team.  😅

Before you get too excited about my fantastic design for a card, let me say that I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest that had this tall, slimline, angle cut that I put my own spin on.

The stars are cut from white cardstock, white glitter cardstock and newsprint cardstock.  I like the variety it gives.

This is the inside of the card with space to write my good wishes on.

I tried to remember the name of this style card.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  Is it a Z-fold angled card??

Anyway, you'll find lots of amazing inspiration using stars over at the Double D Challenge Blog.  I do hope you'll pop over to see what my talented team mates have come up with.

Here's the inspiration board to help jump start your creativity:

And here's what you could win when you play along:

Before you go, I want to share with you that my good friend and team mate Vicki Robertson is starting a new challenge called "A Cut Above".  It's a challenge that focuses on using dies, so it's right up my alley.  Her first challenge will start on July 1st.  I hope you'll hop on over to her blog, become a follower and join in on the fun.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
