Leaves are Falling, Autumn is Calling ~ Double D Challenge

Double D Challenge is up with a new challenge, and the theme is Fall Leaves.

I happily pulled out some older sets to make this card.  I started by embossing the front panel using the Falling Leaves embossing folder from Spellbinders, which just happens to be the prize that we're giving away to the winner of this challenge.  I cut a piece of journal cardstock using a Stitched Scalloped Nested Rectangle from Gina Marie Designs.  I stamped a leafy image from PTI's Forest Floor, on the left side of the journal card.

The stamped sentiment is from Echo Park Fall Memories with the addition a trio of Small Stitched Leaves from Lawn Fawn cut from scraps found in my scrap box.

I can't wait to see how you're inspired by this wonderful mood board that Darlene put together.

Here's the prize you could win when you play along:

Stash Busting

Hello friends!  Who of us does not have a mountain of patterned paper just waiting to be used?  In an effort to bust through my over abundant stash of papers (and stop spending $$), I am determined to use what I have.

I've been sitting on this marvelous pack of patterned paper from Echo Park for far too long.  It was time to put it to use.  I pulled out cardstocks in coordinating colors and star dies to get me started.

Along the card making journey, I added other dies like tags, banners and circle dies, as well as gems from my stash.

This is a picture heavy post, so I'll let the photo's take over from here.

Thanks for sticking with me.  I'm happy to say that most of this paper pack has been used except for a few leftover sheets which I'll be sure to use in future makes.  I hope I've inspired you today to use what you have and bust your stash.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
A Cut Above ~ Let's Start Off With A Bang!
Color Throwdown ~ Kraft, Red & Blue

The Paper Players ~ using the top row, Stars, Bling & Blue

Be safe and happy this 4th of July!

Fla-mazing Flamingo

I loved the tropical vibe of the colors from the Color Hues challenge so much, I went in for round two using the darling Flamingo die from Marianne Designs.

Using the same design as my last trio of cards, I was able to use up the last scrap of design paper, but with a whole new look.

The tropical Palm Leaves are from Echo Park.

The warmth of this card makes my heart smile.  😊

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Color Hues ~ Coral & Teal
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Krafty Chicks Challenge ~ All Occasions

I hope you're getting outside and enjoying the sunshine!  I've been working hard in the flower gardens.

Let's Shell-ebrate!!

Hi friends~  I was cleaning my craft space when I got side tracked by the box of die cuts that are all assembled and just waiting to be used.  Do you do that?  Cut a bunch of dies out for a particular project, but you keep cutting since you're right there.  Then assemble all the dies in assembly line style.  I'm always left with extra die cut shapes, ready to be used for a future project. Then, when I'm feeling crafty but uninspired I go through the box of die cuts and just start using up scraps from my scrap box and die cut box.

Enter this card!  This little crustacean has been hiding out in my die cut box for a very long time.  Probably since last summer.  It's time he make an appearance on a CAS card.

He's the crab from Elizabeth Craft Design.  I found this tropical leaf, which I believe is from Echo Park, in the box of die cuts as well.  He's waving the leaf like a flag in shell-ebration of something special.

Needless to say, I didn't get very far cleaning my craft room.  But I used up some of my scraps to make this card.  Now that's a reason to "shell-ebrate"!

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
Cut It Up Challenge ~ Animals On Parade
Crafty Chicks Challenge ~ All Occasions

Bee Kind

Words to live by ~ "Be Kind".   That's Time Out Challenges theme of their current challenge.  If we all dug a little deeper into our hearts when dealing with others, perhaps the world would be a better place.

I pulled out some older supplies to make this card.  It's always fun when I revisit papers and dies that have been sitting dormant for a while.

Honey Bee Stamps Honey Jar came to mind, along with the Honeycomb sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

Echo Park has the most beautiful, printed papers!

That's it from me today!
There's still time to join in on the challenge over at Time Out Challenges.

I've linked the products I used, for your convenience, below.
