Psalm 147:11 ~ Guesting for WAW

I'm back with you this Wednesday as a guest designer at Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog, and I'm honored to be creating with such a talented team that brings praise and honor to The Lord.

If you're not familiar with Word Art Wednesday, it's a family friendly "Anything Goes" challenge that provides an optional Biblical Word art piece that you may incorporate into your design, but this is strictly optional.

The word art for this challenge is:

I printed the verse on Hammermill #100 cardstock and cut it using a dotted rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The Pinkfresh flowers were leftover snippets that I found in my die box.  I was able to use them to fill in some of the white space left over from the verse.

I do hope you'll take a moment to visit the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog to see more amazing designs from their talented team, and join in on the fun!  It's always "Anything Goes" as long as is family friendly.

Ephesians 3:16-19 ~ WAW Guest Designer

Hello friends and happy Wednesday!  I hope you're doing well and your week is floating along smoothly.  I've been invited to be a guest designer at Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog, and I'm honored to be creating with such a talented team that brings praise and honor to The Lord.

If you're not familiar with Word Art Wednesday, it's a family friendly "Anything Goes" challenge that provides an optional biblical word art piece that you may incorporate into your design, but this is strictly optional.

The word art for this challenge is:

I printed the verse using my home printer onto a piece of Hammermill 100# white cardstock.  I masked off the verse portion of the panel and ink blended the top using Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass DOX inks.
If you look closely, you'll see some white paint splatters to add a splash of detail.

The flowers are Pholox Blooms and Leaves by Birch Press Design.  I love how the layers align perfectly and add depth to the flowers.

I do hope you'll take a moment to visit the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog to see more amazing designs from their talented team, and join in on the fun!  It's always "Anything Goes" as long as is family friendly.

Guest Designing for Cut It Up Challenge

Cheerio friends!  Today, I'm happy to be sharing a card as guest designer on the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  My project was chosen as one of the "Top Cuts" back in September and thus gave me the opportunity to guest design for a future challenge.  So, here I am today, creating for the newest challenge #323, "This Makes Me Smile".

Well, the simple answer to "what makes me smile", is that I love working with dies!  Especially vintage-y ones!

This darling, retro looking Lovely Layers Vintage Reindeer from Honeybee Stamps most certainly brings a smile to my face.  I purchased the dies just before Christmas and made up a few of them, but they never made it to a card front until now.

The Greetery's Boxwood Heart framed this deer nicely, with some added flowers from Spellbinders.  A layered pair of hearts adds to the sentiment.

Thanks so much to Larelyn and the Cut It Up team for inviting me to guest design for them.  I enjoy playing along with your challenges!
I do hope you'll all stop by Cut It Up and join in on their challenge.  I'd love to know what makes you smile!

Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate The Savior ~ Baby Update

Hello friends and Happy Easter!

What a wonderful day it is to celebrate our risen Savior.

I made a few cards using a retired PTI set called Make It Market:  Garden Gate.

The stamped sentiments are also a retired PTI set called Easter Alleluiahs.

Our California kiddos arrived on Friday.  I'm feeling so grateful that our little family is together once again.  My grandbabies have finally met each other and their respective aunt & uncle for the first time.

I'm thankful for laughter that fills our home when we're together and the joyful chaos that comes with having little ones.

Today we are celebrating Easter and my husband and son-in-love's birthdays.  What a joy to be together!

I have both of my little blessings on my lap.  Pure joy!!  My little "C" on the left and my sweet "P" on the right.

My son holding his daughter and his nephew.

My little loves.  Life doesn't get any sweeter than this.  My cup overflows.

May the miracle of Easter bring you renewed hope, faith, love and joy.

The Glory of The Lord ~ Color Challenge ~ Double D

Hello friends!  Double D Challenge is starting up a new challenge and the theme is a color challenge.

As you can see I went with the cool tones of blue, using Forever Fern stamps & dies from Stampin' Up!

The background is embossed with a very old plaid EF.  I cut a circle out of the right edge so it overlapped the edge and stamped the verse inside the negative space.

I used Altenew's Icy Lake Crisp Ink Dyes for all the stamping and the flowers and pearls are from my stash.

Trying to make the most of my crafting time, I made two more cards.

I used the negative piece from the first card and added more leafy sprigs from Forever Fern and a Vintage Rose from Altenew.  I tucked in a few sprigs cut from vellum to soften the look.

Mixed Media Monday ~ Be Joyful Always

Welcome back to my third installment of Mixed Media Monday.  Today's art journal page, is actually a CASE from the very talented Vicky Papaionnou, using items from her newly released collection Create Happiness.

Of course, I added my own spin to her amazing layout using these delightful, stacked teacups from the Pink Dream Ephemera pack.

After inking the background using Oxide Inks, I randomly stamped a very old Flora background stamp.  It's so old, I don't even remember the company that made it, but to this day, is still one of my favorite background stamps. I also did some random stenciling using Vicky's Book Stencil

I tucked a vintage post card, from Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Ephemera Pack, behind the teacups and added my verse of the day, "Be joyful always".  I added white gel pen details to the die cuts and black lines around the sentiment to make it stand out.

I can easily get lost in the creation of art journaling.  I hope you enjoyed today's creation as much as I enjoyed the process of making it.

Vicky's entire line of products are so filled with vintage beauty!  I love everything about her style.

I've linked up many of her products below.  A Cherry On Top Crafts, carries her entire line and she just had a new release, so I hope you'll check them out.

Fruit of the Spirit ~ Dies R Us

Good morning and happy September 1st!  Wow!  I can't believe it's September already.  Summer whizzed by!  I have some sad news. Today's Dies R Us challenge is the last challenge.  Dani has decided to close the challenge blog.  I'm so sad!  I've been with Dies R Us since 2016 and I've just loved representing their company as a designer, on both the inspiration blog and recently on the challenge blog.  The theme for the last challenge is "Anything Goes".

I picked up the Lawn Fawn Zesty Lemon dies earlier this summer and wanted a chance to use them before the summer "fruit" season was over.

I made a set of 5 cards, using different fruit dies that I had in my stash, like the watermelons from Spellbinders Market Fresh "I'll Have a Slice".

The blueberries are also from Spellbinderss Market Fresh, "Aren't You Sweet".

Lawn Fawn Zesty Lemons turned into limes...

and the oranges were made using Zesty Lemons as well!

I cut stitched scalloped rectangles from coordinating plaid design papers for each card and then used Scripture stamps that fit nicely onto each design.
I really like the fresh colors of these cards, and the CAS design.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us:

I want to end by saying a big thank you to Dani Dafflin, for allowing me to be part of his team for so long.  I also want to say thank you to Anne Temple, who's been an amazing team leader, as well as Darlene Pavlick who was my original team leader when I first signed on.  I've met so many amazing people that I consider to be my friends, even though we've never met.  This has been one of the most supportive design teams I've ever been on.  I'll miss our great team!

Please be sure to visit the DRU Challenge blog to say a fond farewell to the team, and join in on the fun, one last time.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes

Bee Kind

Words to live by ~ "Be Kind".   That's Time Out Challenges theme of their current challenge.  If we all dug a little deeper into our hearts when dealing with others, perhaps the world would be a better place.

I pulled out some older supplies to make this card.  It's always fun when I revisit papers and dies that have been sitting dormant for a while.

Honey Bee Stamps Honey Jar came to mind, along with the Honeycomb sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

Echo Park has the most beautiful, printed papers!

That's it from me today!
There's still time to join in on the challenge over at Time Out Challenges.

I've linked the products I used, for your convenience, below.
