Guest Designing for Cut It Up Challenge

Cheerio friends!  Today, I'm happy to be sharing a card as guest designer on the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  My project was chosen as one of the "Top Cuts" back in September and thus gave me the opportunity to guest design for a future challenge.  So, here I am today, creating for the newest challenge #323, "This Makes Me Smile".

Well, the simple answer to "what makes me smile", is that I love working with dies!  Especially vintage-y ones!

This darling, retro looking Lovely Layers Vintage Reindeer from Honeybee Stamps most certainly brings a smile to my face.  I purchased the dies just before Christmas and made up a few of them, but they never made it to a card front until now.

The Greetery's Boxwood Heart framed this deer nicely, with some added flowers from Spellbinders.  A layered pair of hearts adds to the sentiment.

Thanks so much to Larelyn and the Cut It Up team for inviting me to guest design for them.  I enjoy playing along with your challenges!
I do hope you'll all stop by Cut It Up and join in on their challenge.  I'd love to know what makes you smile!

Thanks for stopping by!

Good Day Sunshine! ~ Poppystamps

Hello friends!  I sure do love the summer months, but even on the rainy days the sun is always shining in my craft room.

Poppystamps is starting a new challenge this month titled "Good Day Sunshine".  ~~𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮Good day sunshine, good day sunshine, good day sunshine𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮~~ Is that song stuck in your head now, like it is in mine?  The Whittle Racing Giraffe Kit came out to play for this challenge.

This tall giraffe from Whittle Racing Giraffe Kit is driving his convertible, probably to the beach where he'll catch some sun rays and talk a long walk on the shore. (Get it??)  Sorry, bad joke.  Anyway, the sunshine and sentiment are from the Whittle Tropical Gator Kit.

A piece of Glimmering Gladiola 6x6 paper pack was used for the background, while I used a Double Scalloped Stitched Frame to bring attention to this little speed demon.

Zoom on over to the Poppystamps Challenge to play along with this fun, summer challenge!

Enjoy the sunshine!  Thanks for stopping by!

Party On with Color Hues

Color Hues has a fun combination of Lilac & Lime to challenge you.

My order from The Greetery arrived the other day and I couldn't wait to play with the new Hey Honeycomb Party Hat, using these colors.

I used Twisted Citron and Milled Lavender to add color to the hat.  The photo doesn't do justice to the colors, as the Twisted Citron has more of an olive-y look.  Trust me when I say, it really does look like lime green in real life.

I added flowers from the Hey Honeycomb Flower Power set.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Color Hues Challenge ~ Lilac & Lime
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Double D & Altenew Collaboration Challenge

Good morning friends~ I'm tickled pink to be joining in on a collaboration challenge with Altenew, along with the entire Double D Challenge design team!  This is truly a challenge you won't want to miss, as there are multiple prizes to be won.  You'll find more details at the end of my post.
The theme for Double D Challenges is "Stencils".

We were generously "gifted" the choice of one of the Build-A-Garden collections to work with, so I chose Build-A-Garden:  Morning Asters.

Each Build-A-Garden collection includes stamps, dies, stencils and a mini blending brush.  I used colors from Altenew's Spring Bouquet Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set to stamp and stencil the flower colors.  I splattered on a bit of the Magenta colored ink over top of the flowers and then die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

I cut the white background using the Mix and Match Frames Die Set to create the focal point, stamping the sentiment in the center and then attaching the flowers over the frame.  This was then mounted to an A2 sized card front with a panel of yellow gingham printed paper, to bring out the yellow in the centers of the flowers.

You can find all the products I've listed below at Altenew

Pastel Winter Greetings

Hello friends ~ I'm popping in today with a card that fits perfectly into the Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge.  They have the sweetest mood board to inspire you and it's right up my vintage loving hearts alley.
So much vintage goodness here!  I was inspired by the soft, pastel colors in each of the tiles above.

I started by making a mini slimline card using Spellbinders Mini Slimline Envelope & Nested Card Creator Dies.  I love all the layering options this die set offers.

I used Winter Village from Papertrey Ink to create the scene, using soft pastels to match the polka-dotted paper in the background, which is from Prima Marketing "Sweet Peppermint".

The sentiment is cut using Spellbinders Layered Mix & Match Sentiments, using gold shimmer cardstock, backed with a soft aqua cardstock.

Here's a list of links to the products I used:
Spellbinders Mini Slimline Envelope & Nested Card Creator
Prima Marketing "Sweet Peppermint" (Currently on sale at Scrapbook Maven)

Be sure to visit the Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge to play along!
ETA:  I've also entered this card into the Four Seasons Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes".

New Halloween Challenge ~ Are You Onboard?

Good morning all! My two friends, Darlene and Diane are up to their creative shenanigans' again.  They've come up with the cutest idea for a Halloween challenge.
Doesn't the name just crack you up?  Well, it did me!  Anyway, I thought I'd play along to help spread the word about this unique and fun challenge.  The theme is "Anything Goes" and it runs until October 28th so you still have time to play along.

Here's my card:
While I'm not a big fan of Halloween myself, I do like the vintage Halloween images that they used to print on old post cards.  I like the ones that were not too creepy, but always super cute!    For this card, I printed off a free BINGO and kitty & pumpkin printable I found online.

Here is there current mood board for inspiration.  I was inspired by the darling kitty  in the top right corner.

I'll also be adding this card to the following challenges:

You can find the challenge blog here!
I do hope you'll stop by and give Darlene and Diane some love and play along.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tropical Hibiscus

Good morning stamplings~  I'm popping in today with a card that fits well with a couple of challenges:
There's nothing prettier than a mason jar filled with colorful blooms to brighten a room.  Sunny Studio's Hawaiian Hibiscus look so pretty stamped in a variety of vibrant colors and they fit perfectly in the Mason Jar from The Greetery.

The colors I used to stamp the hibiscus flowers are all from Altenew.  I like the mini cube sets that come in coordinating colors.  I used Warm & CozyPocketful of Sunshine and Spring Bouquet.  The leaves are also stamped using Spring Bouquet,

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
