Frida Loves Frosty ~ Double D Challenge

February is celebrated as the LOVE month.  I LOVE February because my daughter was born on Valentine's day, 31 years ago!  Double D is starting a new challenge using the theme of "HEARTS", so this challenge came super easy to me.

I pulled out an older Stampingbella stamp called Frida Loves Frosty.  I've always adored this sweet Tiny Townie image.

I colored the image with the lightest Copic colors I could find in my marker bucket.  The stenciled hearts on my card are a little more subtle, but definitely visible.

Nothing like a CAS card to start the year off.

I do hope you'll play along with Double D Challenge.
Here is the inspiration board to help you get started:

My inspiration comes from the bottom left panel.
And here is the prize that's being offered to the challenge winner by random draw.

Enjoy your February!

Gnome-y Warm Thoughts ~ TSOC ~ Autumn

Happy Fall' Yall!  The Sisterhood of Crafters is starting a new challenge and the theme is "Autumn".

I've had these darling Gnome images, "You Gnome Me" from My Favorite Things sitting in my coloring pile for a really long time and finally decided it was time to color them up.  Sadly they're discontinued by I think Gnomes will always be popular.

I also remembered that I had this cute little Nut House from Pink & Main that seemed to be the perfect home for these little gnomes on a slimline card.

A bit of ink blending in the background and some die cut grass  brings this whole card together perfectly.  Wouldn't you love to live there or at least come across these little fellas in your garden?
I would!

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Use your favorite stamp
Time Out challenge ~ Season with optional twist of coloring

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!

In Memory of Our Sweet Friend ~ 12 Kits of Occasion

Good morning friends.  Life certainly has a way of showing us just how fragile and brief our time here on this earth is.  Many of you may already know that our 12 Kits of Occasion team lost a dear friend and member in the end of March.

Sharron Gregory (On Papillon Wings)  passed away on March 30th, following complications from heart issues she'd been having.  She was dear to my heart and I had the privilege of meeting her for the first time when I went away to a craft retreat in Kansas at the Craft House and then again when she and her sweet hubby Harry came to Maine.  Daryl and I enjoyed spending time with both Sharron and Harry over breakfast one morning when they were on their way to a bird watching excursion.  I felt like we'd known each other forever, Sharron was so easy to talk to. She had a passion for nature and willingly shared her stories about the work she did at the botanical garden and her local zoo.  We continued to keep in touch with regular e-mails and sending "happy mail" back and forth to each other.

The news of her passing touched me deeply and even now, tears sting my eyes as I write this post.  My heart hurts for Harry and their family.  To honor and remember Sharron, our team is posting cards to honor our beloved friend.

Anyone who knew Sharron knew that She had a great love for birds, butterflies, animals and flowers.  Even though I had made a sympathy card to send to Harry, this card came to me one day when I was sitting, uninspired, in my craft room.  The flowers are Forget-Me-Nots and the hugging bunnies so speak of the sadness I think we all feel.

Past and present team members of the 12 Kits of Occasion are doing a special blog hop to honor our dear friend.  When you visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog, you'll see all the cards from our team.  Click on their individual links to visit their blogs to  read about the memories shared.  I hope the cards and memories will bring a smile to your heart as you remember Sharron and how sweet and kind she was.  She will be greatly missed.

I leave you with this sentiment copied from Sharron's blog:
Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine. ~Jeffrey Glassberg

Being There

Hello and happy Friday crafty friends!  I'm popping in today with a quick card that I made using a stamped image that was given to me a while ago by my sweet friend Lisa Elton of My Paper Tales.

I adore these sweet topiary images so much!  This one is called "Being There".  Michelle Masters is the artist behind this darling image and you can find more of her beautiful stamps HERE.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Crafty friends really are the best!  Thanks Lisa for sharing this image with me.  Your friendship makes my day brighter.

Inspired By Challenge ~ Quiet

Happy Monday Morning friends!  We've been getting snow upon snow here on the east coast and I've been happily staying safe at home and finding lots of time to spend in my craft room.

I know this Foxy stamp from Casual Fridays has been out for a while, but I couldn't resist inking it up and bringing it to life with copic markers.

For the first card, I stamped a scripty background in light grey ink then stamped the Foxy image over it, colored it with copics and added white gel pen dots.  The photo corners are an old die from Quickutz.

For this card I cut the image out using an Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Oval and just added it to some scraps of printed paper.  I thought this peaceful moment between fox and butterfly would be perfect for the new challenge going on over at Inspired By where the theme is "Quiet".

I'll also be entering this card into the following challenges:

12 Kits of Occasion ~ September "Friends & Food"

Hello everyone!  Quite unbelievably, it's the end of September so you know what that means.....
It's time for the 12 Kits of Occasion posts!
Kim Heggins was our hostess this month with her kit titled "Friends & Food" and it was filled with pure sweetness as you can see in the photo below.

Kim has an amazing eye for color and prints and I just love her CAS style.  I tried to channel my inner "Kim" as I was making these cards.  Thanks Kim, for this super cute kit!!

This card just makes me want to bake and now that cooler weather is here, I have no excuses not to.

Love these donuts from Mama Elephant!  I added the sprinkles with fine tip markers.

This sentiment that Kim included in the kit stands alone.  I simply added a leafy frame from Tutti Designs that I watercolors using Zigs.

The last two cards are simple heart shaped Valentine cards that I made similar to the mid-century style of Valentines, when it was popular for adults to send them to each other.

I drew the face on the toaster and added Glossy Accents to the pop tart.

Aren't these fun?

I'm so glad you took time to visit my blog today.  I hope you'll visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how all my talented teamies were inspired by Kim's super fun kit.
