Vintage Easter Box Ornament ~ Double D Challenges

The Easter season is upon and my friends at Double D Challenge want to help inspire you.  There's a new challenge starting today and the theme is "Easter".

My make for this challenge was this sweet, vintage inspired Easter box ornament, using lots of found goodies in my craft room.  I didn't use any new supplies to make this, as I've made several of these in the past.

I've used the Passport Book BIGZ die from Sizzix to make the box ornament.  Unfortunately this die has been retired for quite some time but it's still one of my favorite dies.  I covered the outside of the box with a soft blue scrapbook paper and added some flower rub-ons from Stamperia.  The  flowers came from Hobby Lobby and the bunny is a die cut from Frantic Stamper.  The Easter banner is cut from a retired Graphic 45 paper pad.

Inside the box, you'll find this sweet image that was also cut from the Graphic 45 paper pad, along with a die cut chick from Dies R Us as well as a couple of sparkly Easter eggs from Michael's Craft Store.  I lined the inside bottom of the box with craft moss to give all the elements a place to sit.

You can check out the other ornament boxes I've made in the past:

Mixed Media Monday ~ Sunflowers

Good morning, friends.  I've got my next installment of Mixed Media Monday for you today and it has a cheerful sunflower as its theme.

As always, I started with some inking, stamping and stenciling in my Create Happiness art journal.  I used the book stencil from Stamperia and a very old Postcard stamp.

This page gave me opportunity to use up some older Graphic 45 papers as well.

This wonderful sunflower is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I've had it for years and it still remains one of my favorites.  I cut all the pieces out of scraps I found in my scrap box.

The sentiment is from Papertey Ink.  It's stamped on a piece of scrapbook paper that was cut using a notebook die from Papertrey ink.

I enjoyed this project for many reasons.

1. Because it used up many items that have been sitting around for years.
2.  Who doesn't love sunflowers??
3.  I wait on the promises of God

I Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll come back again in a couple of weeks for my next Mixed Media Monday offering.

Vintage Sunflowers ~ Double D Challenges

Hello friends~ There's a new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges and the theme is "Sunflowers".  Is there anyone who doesn't love a beautiful sunflower?
I have many sunflower die cuts and stamps that I could have used but in the end, this is what I came up with, using a pre-made flower from The Paper Studio that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  The papers are ages old, from Graphic 45.

Here's the mood board to help inspire you:

And here's what you could win:

I do hope you'll stop by the Double D Challenges blog to see more beautiful cards from my talented team mates and join in on the fun!

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ Book Inspiration

Hello ~ My sweet friend Frances Byrne from Stamp Owl Studio invited me to be a guest designer at Crazy 4 Challenges for the month of March.  How could I resist such a fun offer!  Thanks to Frances and all the talented gals for having me.  It's a joy and honor to play along with you all this month.

This week's challenge is to be inspired by a book.  I've been hoarding  holding on to several Mother Goose images from Graphic 45 for much too long now and it was time to put one of them to good use.
These vintage graphics and earthy colors are so fun to work with for a change.

I hope you'll check out Crazy 4 Challenges and join in on the fun!
I'll also be adding this card to the following
challenges:

Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Based On A Book
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit
