A Pretty Gift Set For A Special Occasion

Good morning friends~  I made this gift set back in February, to celebrate a dear friends special day, and I never got around to posting it.  As it turns out my dear friend Marcia, over at Color Hues is starting a new challenge using these colors, so I thought this would be the perfect time to post this project.

The deliciously sized cupcake die is from Pretty Pink Posh.  I added some sweet polka dotted lemons from Spellbinders because every project should have some polka dots.

The treat box is made using a die from Sizzix.

I found this striped gift bag in my stash which coordinated perfectly with the papers and cardstock colors I used.  A simply doily bag topper and bow was all it needed.

And finally, a framed piece of artwork using stencils and dies from Altenew.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

12 Kits of Occasion February ~ Party In The Park

Hello to my 12 Kit's friends and followers~  Boy, am I happy to see February end!  Are you all itching for spring as much as I am??  March roars in like a lion and leaves like  lamb so by the end of March, I should certainly be seeing signs of spring here on the east coast.  Nancy Penir was our hostess this month and she taunted us with signs of an early spring in her lovely kit "Party in the Park".

All the contents in Nancy's kit were new to me and the papers are all so lovely! I hoarded saved a couple of my favorites because I just know I'll be inspired by my talented team mates to use them in a better way.  Thanks Nancy for a delightful kit!!

This was the first card I made and it's also my favorite.  This magical sea dragon looks like he's just waiting for the tiniest little mermaid to hop along for a ride in his underwater sea race.

Are you there too??  He's been given a healthy dose of WOS for extra sparkle and shine.

You can't have a party in the park without the friendly little otters coming along.
He floats lazily along this slider path bearing gifts.

Oh look!  It's a pinata party!!
That row of sparkly hearts was a piece of tape Nancy used to seal a gift bag with.  It was the perfect color for this card

I'll end with this beauty!  Those die cut roses from Altenew are a "must have".  Paired with this beautiful gold enhanced printed paper..... GAAA....  need I say more? (Sorry, I've been sick all month long, so my words escape me).

I hope you'll visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how the rest of my team mates were inspired by Nancy's lovely kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Box and Warm Fuzzies

Good morning friends~  It's cold outside but it's spring time in my craft room!  I've been busy in my craft room making some dimentional flowers using lots of great cardstock from Cut Cardstock.

Here's a snapshot of the products I used today:

I started with the beautiful Elizabeth Craft Designs Susan's Garden Rose first by cutting the rose petals from Astrobrights 65# Plasma Pink Cardstock.  I added a bit of red color to the centers  and white to the edge of each petal using Pan Pastels.

I then molded the petals on a soft molding mat using a ball stylus.  The 65# weight of this cardstock makes it the perfect choice for shaped flowers and the colors are so vivid and bright.  Just look at the wonderful detail on the molded petals.  Beautiful!

Next is the Garden Notes Carnations from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The petals of the carnations were cut using Neenah 80# Solar White Cardstock.  I rubbed a bit of distress ink in the centers and edges of each of the flowers and molded them as well.

I assembled all of the flowers using Glossy Accents because it is a super strength glue.  Look how beautiful they turned out!

These little flowers are made using ECD Bunch of Flowers 4.  They were cut from 80# Neenah Solar White Cardstock.  I added distress ink to the centers of the petals and used a copic marker to color the indentation on the petals.  I finished them off by adding pink Prills from ECD to the centers of each of the flowers.

The Pair of Leaves 1 were cut from 65# Pop Tones Gumdrop Green.   I added a bit of Crushed Olive Distress Ink to the edges.

I've had this heart shaped box sitting in my closet of shame for a very long time and finally pulled it out for this project.  I cut a heart slightly smaller than the box out of Astrobright Re-Entry Red and glued it to the top of the box using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Adhesive.  I then cut a doily out of Neenah Solar White Cardstock and adhered that to the top of the box as well.

Next, I added the leaves and then played around with the design.  This is the finished project.  You can see that I added some ECD Garden Notes Ivy Vine which was cut out of  Astrobrights 65# Gamma Green.

I also added yellow Prills to the centers of the carnations for a more finished look.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and are inspired to try making some dimentional flowers of your own.  They're easier to make than you might think and very rewarding in the end!  You can find many beautiful flower dies at Elizabeth Craft Designs and Cut Cardstock has all the cardstock you need to make beautiful floral arrangements and this month you'll find all the Astrobright Cardstock on sale.

And I'm giving you a "two-fer" today:
I just had to make a card using the inspiration from Inspired By All the Little Things.  Linda chose the most darling inspiration photo ever!  How could I let it pass by? I used Pretty Pink Posh Woodland Critters because this stamp set had almost every animal in the inspiration photo.

I'll be adding one of these projects to the following challenges:
