Bold Poppies ~ Double D

Hello stamplings~  I've got a card up today, for the new challenge starting over at Double D Challenges, where the theme is "Flowers of The Month".
The flowers for this challenge are:
July Larkspur, Delphinium or Water Lily
August Poppy or Gladiolus
September Aster or Morning Glory
October Cosmos or Marigold
November Chrysanthemum
December Paper White Narcissus or Holly
I chose Poppies!
I started by making the base of the card using Queen & Co. Lines die, cutting it from black cardstock.

I didn't have poppy dies to make a poppy.  Any flower die will do!  I used Sizzix Thinlits Floral Frame to make the flowers and to frame the sentiment in gold mirror cardstock.  The sentiment is from Penny Black "Grateful Heart".

I think the colors are very striking and bold but I love how it turned out.

Here's your inspiration photo:

And here's what you could win when you play along:

Hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Shaker Card

Good morning.  Want to shake things up a bit with your snail mail?  Try making a shaker card to say "hello".

Here's a snapshot of the dies I used:

Here's how I made it:
I started by cutting the Queen & Co. Lines Die 4 times out of Neenah 110# Solar White Cardstock and once out of Neenah 80# Solar White Cardstock.  I glued the 4 heavier weight die cut panels together using Glossy Accents and then used a fingernail file to remove all the tiny debris that sticks to the edges of dies.
This made the edges smooth.  Just look at that depth!  Attach the die cut panel to an A2 sized card base.

I adhered a Cheery Lynn Designs Clear Acetate Sheet to the back side of the 85# die cut panel using Score Tape.  This acetate has a protective blue film on both sides so be sure to remove the blue film before adhering it to your project.
Fill each of the lines with seed beads and sequins and attach the top piece using Score Tape, removing the blue film first.

Next cut the Memory Box Drifting Flowers Heart Die out of white cardstock.  While it's still in the die, turn it over and rub Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink into the crevices to add detail to the die.

Die cut a double layered sentiment and attach the sentiment to the halo.  The one I used isn't available in the store but there are many in the store to choose from, found HERE.

Assemble your card as shown.

Add pretty gems to the centers of each of the flowers.

Here's a list of dies I used that can be found
