Sail Away With Me

Good morning friends~  I haven't played along with Cupcake Inspiration in a long time and after seeing my friend Kim's card for the challenge and how adorable it was, I thought I'd check out their challenge blog.  I'm so glad I did because there's some wonderful nautical inspiration there!  My card isn't as adorable as Kim's but it's nautical.

Do you ever want to just pull out all your old supplies and make cards with them?  I can get so caught up using new supplies and buying more because I think I "need" them when I have so many wonderful old supplies just waiting to be used.

This card is made using just dies.  No stamping involved.  The sailboat is an old one from MFT but I've always loved the simple design.  I paired it with PTI's Shape Shifters Oval die and the little anchor tag was a freebie from Cheery Lynn Designs a really long time ago.  It was fun pulling out some old dies and giving them some new love.

I hope you'll play along by clicking here.

Dies R Us ~ Just Desserts

Hello stamplings ~  There's a new challenge starting up today over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is "Just Desserts".  This is right up my alley, as I have a sweet tooth that doesn't quit!!

Ice cream and summer time just go together.  Don't you think?  I pulled out my favorite Sue Wilson Ice Cream Sundae set and created a pop-up card just for you!

I'll start with the outside of the card first.  I used some fun polka dotted paper in cherry red and cut a scalloped frame using Elizabeth Craft Designs Dotted Scallop Rectangles and Stitched Rectangles.  The Cherry sprig is from Spellbinders "Market Fresh" and the sentiment is from Sue Wilson "A Little Birdie Told Me".

Inside the card is where the fun begins!  I used Elizabeth Craft Designs General Pop-Ups to create the pop up portion of the card.  I added the sweet Ice Cream Sundae from Sue Wilson, cutting the ice cream cup in silver mirror paper and adding two scoops of ice cream, because one scoop is never enough!

This set comes with the sweet little wafers, cones and candy sticks.  Aren't they cute??  A Sundae isn't a Sundae without chocolate on top, so I added some using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Small Cupcake".  Don't forget the Cherry (or two) on top!  The fun little banner is from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Lot's of Pops"

I added space on the bottom of the card for the message using Elizabeth Craft Designs Dotted Scallop Squares and Stitched Squares.  See the little silver spoon on the bottom right corner?  That's included in the Sue Wilson set too.  She didn't overlook a single detail when she came up with this set.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and are inspired to play along.
You can find all the details and join in on the fun by clicking here.  You could be the next winner of a DRU Gift Certificate!

I'll be entering this card into the Cut It Up challenge.  The theme is "I Scream, You Scream, We ALL Scream for Ice Cream!"

I wanted to remind you that we have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has opened a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

Peace & Joy ~ Christmas In July

Good morning dearies.  I'm popping in with a Christmas in July card for The Card Concept.  Their inspiration photo was just too beautiful to not to join in on the fun.

I was inspired to make a slimline card using the colors and the Christmas tree as my jumping off point.  I recently got the Slim Stitched Scalloped Circle Die from PinkFresh Studio and I couldn't wait to try it out.
I pulled out beautiful papers from Mintay called Christmas Stories.  I heat embossed the sentiment in the center circle, in gold and added a few fussy cut images from the paper pack.

I stamped some berry sprigs using PaperTrey Ink Beautiful Berries: Winter.

The Defined Style of this card is "Shabby Chic / Vintage".  There's plenty of time to join in on the challenge here.

Hugs x 8 ~ Ocean / Beach ~ TSOC

Good morning friends ~ Are you enjoying the hot days of summer?  I'm a summer girl and summers are short here on the east coast.  One of my favorite places to go on a hot summer day is to the ocean.  I can sit on the beach all day long, dipping in the cold ocean water to cool off and then back to baking on the beach.  Sadly, I have not been to the beach yet this year.  I don't think it would be so much fun breathing into a mask in the hot summer sun, not to mention the  odd tan lines.  ;0)  Anyway, there's a new challenge starting over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and the theme is "Ocean / Beach" so this is one way I can get my beach fix.
Are you tired of seeing me use these cute dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs yet?
I'm sorry.  I just can't resist this Octopus when he puts on his sailor's hat.  With all those arms, that equals 8 times the hugs!

He's holding on tight to the life preserver from the Whale Die set.
I framed him using Stitched Rectangles and Dotted Scallop Rectangles. I can't get enough of all the fun things that come in these ocean themed sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!

Christmas Carols ~ Dies R Us ~ Christmas In July

Hello stamplings ~  There's a new challenge starting up today over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is Christmas In July, so let us help you get a jump start on your Christmas card making.  ;0)
I went with a CAS design for a change using a Christmas Carol stamp from Marianne Designs, which was available during one of DRU's special order events.
I framed the sentiment using two layers from Impression Obsession All In One Rectangle Frames. 2

I added the bells from Dove Craft, The Magic of Christmas, which was also from the special order event, and some Holly Leaves & Berries from Poppystamps.
