Strawberry Fields ~ Mixed Media Monday

Hello friends ~ Welcome back to another installment of Mixed Media Monday.
Today's art journal entry features a wonderful collection from Simple Stories called Simple Vintage Berry Fields.  I just love the sun-shine colors in this collection!

I started by covering a page in my Create Happiness Art Journal with a sweet country yellow, gingham paper from Simple Vintage Berry Fields 6x8" Paper Pad.  If you look closely, you'll see the subtle image of a mason jar.  So reminiscent of farm fresh country.  I distressed the edges of the page and splattered on some Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I layered on some ephemera bits from Simple Vintage Berry Fields Ephemera.  The strawberries are stamped using Sunny Studio Berry Bliss.  I love how real these look when stamped!

The "Oh Happy Day" stamp is from 49 & Market Vintage Artistry Dream stamp set.  The acetate butterfly, leaves and flowers were found on Amazon and the postage stamps are actual vintage stamps found in my vintage stamp collection.

Here's a list of products I used:

I hope you enjoyed today's project.  Do you keep an art journal?  Let me know in the comments.  I'd love to stop by for a visit.

Things That Fall ~ Double D Challenges

Hello everyone!  Today's card is fresh and sweet, and it was made for the new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges.  The theme of the challenge is "Things That Fall".

My inspiration came from the falling apples in the top right corner.

I used Sunny Studio Stamps Layered Basket and filled it with apples, peaches and pears from their Fruit Cocktail stamp set.

I absolutely love how the dimension shows up in the stamping, giving the fruits such a realistic look.
I used Spellbinders Lattice Die for the background.

Here is a list of links that will bring you directly to the products I used today.
And great news!  The Fruit Cocktail sets are currently marked down.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Please visit Double D Challenges to see more amazing inspiration from my talented teammates and join in on the fun!

Here's the prize that will go home to the lucky winner:

Fruit Birthday ~ A Mini Bendi Card ~ DD

Hello there!  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is Fruits & Veggies.

To mix things up a bit, I made a Mini Bendi Card for this challenge using Stampin' Up! Berry Delightful paper and Sunny Studio Berry Bliss Stamps.

This is how the card looks when it's displayed.  Super fun and different!

The back of the card has two panels to write your personalized message on.

My inspiration for this card comes from the bottom right corner of the mood board.

I hope you'll join in on the fun here.

Here's the prize that you could win when you play along:

Sweet Watermelon Pops ~ Double D

Hello everyone.  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today
and the theme is "Colors of Summer".

I used Sweet Ice Cream stamps from Stampin' Up! to create these yummy watermelon colored summer pops.

The seeds are stamped using the drip stamp in the set.  When stamped in black ink, they look like watermelon seeds! The papers are from my scrap box and I added a strip of Ric Rac using a Sunny Studio border die.  This ric rac border die is now one of my favorite "go to" dies.

I made two summer birthday cards out of the paper scraps to add to my box.

Here's the mood board to inspired you:

Fresh Fruit ~ Ink It Up ~ TSOC

Good morning friends ~ how about a little fresh fruit salad for breakfast?  There's a new challenge starting over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and the theme is "Ink It Up".

I pulled out some of my favorite fruity layering stamps from Sunny Studio Stamps.

The fruits from Fruit Cocktail and Berry Bliss are some of the easiest stamps I've found to line up and I just love how realistic they become as you stamp each layer.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!
You will have until Sunday, July 19th to enter.  Winners will be announced on Tuesday, June 21st.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Tropical Hibiscus

Good morning stamplings~  I'm popping in today with a card that fits well with a couple of challenges:
There's nothing prettier than a mason jar filled with colorful blooms to brighten a room.  Sunny Studio's Hawaiian Hibiscus look so pretty stamped in a variety of vibrant colors and they fit perfectly in the Mason Jar from The Greetery.

The colors I used to stamp the hibiscus flowers are all from Altenew.  I like the mini cube sets that come in coordinating colors.  I used Warm & CozyPocketful of Sunshine and Spring Bouquet.  The leaves are also stamped using Spring Bouquet,

Fruity Thanks

I could eat it for every meal and I've never met a fruit I didn't like.  Well, except for dragon fruit!  My daughter and I tried it once and decided we'd stick with what we know we like.
My "thank you" cards have been running low so I've been working on cheerful thank you cards and since summer is the season of fruits, I turned to some of my favorite fruity sets from Sunny Studio Stamps.

They have the best layered stamps for fruit.  Just look at the shadows and detail of these fruits from Fruit Cocktail and Berry Bliss.

I heat embossed the "Thank You" sentiment in gold and added some gold dots to finish it off.

What are your favorite layering stamps?  I'd love to hear!

I'll be entering this card in to the following challenges:

Rose Garden

Good morning friends ~ I'm popping in with a card for Double D Challlenges "Rose Garden" challenge.
I used Sunny Studio Stamps "Everything's Rosey" to create this quick CAS card.  These roses are so easy to line up with a little help from the Misti Stamping Tool.  I used my new favorite Ink Cube Sets from Altenew,  Tea Party for the roses and Tropical Forest for the leaves.

This wonderful lime green gingham in the background is from Doodlebug's "Down On The Farm Petite Prints"I cut the Sympathy from Tutti Designs from Silver Mirror Cardstock for added elegance.  Sadly, you just sometimes you just need a sympathy card.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Pretty Pinks ~ Two Cards / Two Challenges

Good morning friends ~ It feels like I've been away from my craft room for a long time.  Life was busy and then I got trigger finger in the thumb on my right hand and I couldn't move it at all, paired with lots of pain.  Thankfully after a visit to the orthopedic and a steroid shot in my thumb, it's doing much better.  I can move it again and the pain is subsiding.  Just in time to join some amazing challenges.
Have you seen the photo inspiration for The Card Concept?  Wow, is it stunning!
I was totally inspired by the pink and cream pumpkins dipped in gold.  My style falls in to the category of "Classy & Elegant" I think... I hope.
I used Pretty Pumpkins from Sunny Studio.  I love the layers these stamps have.  I dipped the smallest pumpkin in gold embossing powder.

I also used the cake pedestal from PTI's Cloche Quarters and a frame from PTI's Boutique Borders ~ Love set.  Sadly, this is discontinued but the frames are timeless and elegant.  The sentiment is from PTI's Penned Elegance and was embossed in gold as well.

This next card was made for the PTI Create Along With Us challenge.  I haven't played along in quite some time so I was happy for the opportunity to join in on the fun using this card from Amy Sheffer as inspiration.
I used the Painted Poinsettia set again along with Seasonal Borders: Winter.

I stamped a coodinating envelope too, inspired by Heather Nichols and their new set Pleasing Envelopes .

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Time Out Challenges ~ Colorful

Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Splendor ~ TupeloDesignsLLC

Hello friends.  I'm feeling "fall-ish" today and I hope you are too.  I have four cards for you today, all featuring Sunny Studio ~ Autumn Splendor stamp set  that I picked up from TupeloDesignsLLC.
The fall leaves, berries and acorns included in this set are wonderfully detailed!  Use them with your favorite fall colors to create beautiful fall cards to show your gratitude.

There are half stamps and detailed stamps of each of the leaf images so you can create two toned stamped leaves like I did on this card.  The "Grateful for you" sentiment is part of the Autumn Splendor set and I just love the natural hand written font.

Aren't these acorns darling??  Look at the detail and shadow...  So fun!  Right?  I heat embossed the sentiment on this card using copper embossing powder.

I also wanted to show you the wonderful "Christmas in July" gift I received from TupeloDesignsLLC:
They sent each of their designers a Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat from Tonic Studios.  Wow!  What a delight to find it waiting at my door.  Thanks so much Dan!
