Pretty Packaging

The final countdown to Christmas day has begun!  I have so many Christmas projects that I haven't shared on my blog.  I think the posts could take me well into 2025.

Today's share are these cute little gift boxes that I covered.  They reminded me of my beloved pencil box that I would get each year at the beginning of the school season.

I thought these would be great for holding small gifts, but for photo purposes I filled them with chocolate.  That would make a fine gift too, I suppose!

This box is decked out with the Tim Holtz snowflake, which was a new favorite die that I got to work with this year.  It comes with these delightful ice skates.  I placed them over a vellum scalloped circle to soften the underneath.

I don't know why I have such fond memories of looking forward to school shopping and finding the perfect pencil box that would travel with me throughout the school year, as I walked to and from grade school every day.  (I lived directly across the street from the primary school, so it was very convenient.)

A second box was covered using more papers from Stampin' Up.  This one with woodland animals.

This box has another vellum scalloped circle, Tim Holtz Snowflake and cute little fox from CottageCutz.

My pencil boxes were like little treasure chests that I would keep special things in throughout the school year along with crisply sharpened pencils, a small 6" ruler, erasers and crayons.

If you've stuck with me through his post, thanks for indulging me while I reminisced of days gone by.

I'll be entering one of these projects into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~ Anything Christmas
Cut It Up ~ Use More Than One Die
A Cut Above ~ Anything Goes

Last Minute Gift Card Holders ~ Scrapbook Pal

Christmas day is coming fast upon us!  Are you ready?

If you’ve run out of time to shop, gift cards always fit the bill.

Today’s project for making gift card holders is quick and easy using basic supplies from your stash and the Tim Holtz Thinlits “Collector” die set

The papers I used are from the Sweet Peppermint collection from Prima.  They truly are sweet in the vintage style that I love.

The Collector die set includes 45 dies that allow you to create these adorable mini file folders and all the embellishments you can possibly think of. These little envelopes can be used for so many things. Think of sharing seeds with your friends, tucking love notes inside to put in your loved ones lunch box or add them to a card to make it interactive.

I die cut the tags out of patterned paper from the Sweet Peppermint collection and sponged on some Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Ink.  I'll add the names of the recipients here.

I love that Tim Holtz even thought of the disc closures.  I simply glued them on from the center, being careful not to get glue on the outside edge of the discs, so I could add the string to close up these cute envelopes.  A brad would work here as well.

My shopping is done, so now I can enjoy the beauty of this wonderful celebration of Jesus' birth.  The most precious gift of all!

Here is a list of links to the following products I used that can be found at Scrapbookpal.

Giving Thanks with Coffee To Go ~ TSOC

Good morning, there's a new challenge starting up over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and we're "Giving Thanks"!  I've used this challenge as an opportunity to thank those that provide services, such as our news paper delivery guy, the sweet gal at the post office and my hair dresser.

I enjoy making these "To Go" cups using Honeybee Stamps Coffee Gift Card Holder dies.

They're the perfect size for tucking in a gift card.

The pumpkin label is made using a Market Fresh die from Spellbinders called Apple A Day.  The die is great, as it can be used as an apple or a pumpkin or even a peach!  The "For You" stamp and coffee mug are from Stampin' Up!

If you ever needed a Gift Card Holder Die, this is the one!  It comes with everything you need to create adorable gift card holders for any occasion!

Good morning stamplings.  It's time for a new challenge over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog.  The theme is now "Anything Goes" all the time!!

I started by creating a base using patterned paper and Elizabeth Craft Designs Scalloped Rectangles.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Scalloped Ovals and Stitched Ovals make the setting for this sweet Impression Obsession Stitched Tulip

I also made a cute little Spellbinders Treat Bag to go along with it.  It's the perfect size to hold a gift card or other small goodies.

Hello and happy Christmas crafting!  I'm up today over at the Cut Cardstock Blog.  I've got a fairly easy way to treat all those people that help make your life beautiful!

I'm not just talking about your hair dresser or nail designer, but also your home delivery person, oil delivery guy and even the mail person.

I'd love to know all the people you can think of to give one of these to.

Santa's Coffee To Go Please ~ TSOC ~ Any Shape but Rectangle

Hello friends~  The Sisterhood of Crafters is starting a new challenge today and we're looking for "Anything But Rectangles".  Fun! Fun!

I made up a few of these darling little travel cup gift card holders to have on hand for gift giving this Christmas.  The Honey Bee Coffee Gift Card Holder is so fun to work with as it comes with everything you need to create these darling cards or gift card holders.

I cut the travel cup die out of red cardstock and the coffee sleeve out of white.  I then cut a white strip using a die from Lil' Inkers to add to the center of the travel cup to act as the trim on Santa's coat, and added some black buttons that were cut using a button die from Papertrey ink.  I added a medallion backed with gold cardstock using an old MFT Blueprints #13.  The Stitched Holly leaves & Berries from Poppystamps  are the finishing touch.

The sleeve holds the gift card holder closed

and then slips off to reveal the message and gift card.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  Add your project using any shape but a rectangle.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!
