Christmas Thanks

Hello friends~  The year is coming to an end and a new year is just around the corner.  This is my last post for 2016 and I wanted to express my thanks to all my blogging friends for a year filled with encouragement and kindness.  I count myself blessed to call you all friends.

I took advantage of Ellen Hutson's after Christmas sale and picked up a few Christmas sets.  I didn't want to wait a whole year to use them so I made some "Thank You" cards with them.  This card used Darcie's Cookie's and Cocoa.  I love that coffee cup image!!  The die cut "Thank You" is from my sweet friend Michele from I Card Everyone.  Thanks Michele!!

I had this stitched octagon shape with snowflakes left over from a shaker card I made and thought it would make a pretty focal point for the Hero Arts Snowy Tree.

This adorable image is from Stamping Bella "Chickadeer".  Seriously, they have the cutest stamps!!  You really have to see them!  I added a bit of Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter in Warm Diamond for some snow.  There are so many fabulous colors to choose from, it's hard to buy just one.  ;0)

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Happy New Year to you all!  I'm looking forward to an exciting 2017!

Dies R Us ~ Christmas Thank You Cards

Good morning friends~  It's my turn to post over at  the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.  Saying thank you has never been so easy using Trimcrafts First Edition Dies ~ Build A Scene
Trimcraft - First Edition Dies - Build A Scene - Night
This set has everything you need to create quick and easy cards.  I made several thank you cards in a very short period of time.

Time saving fact #1:  These Trimcraft Dies come on their own magnetic sheet, ready to use.  No snipping apart required!  Just open the package and they're ready to use!
Time saving fact #2:  I was able to cut all the pieces for each card out at once in one pass through my machine.
I added black Wink of Stella glitter pen to the reindeer and sleigh die.  I really did!  I just forgot and took the picture first before adding it.  ;0D  You can see it the sparkle in the next picture.

Time saving fact #3:  I assembled the layers onto a square scalloped note card exactly the way the picture on the package suggested so I didn't even have to think it through.  I then stamped a thank you sentiment in the space left at the bottom.
Time saving fact #4:   There is a star die included in the set that cuts several cute tiny stars all at once, that I've added to the night sky.  I can see these stars being used as accents on all sorts of cards and they'd be perfect in shaker cards.

I can't even express how easy these were to cut, layer and finish.

You can find this Build A Scene Night Die Set set and many more from Trimcraft at Dies R Us.

Dies R Us ~ Playful Penguins

Good morning friends~  It's my turn to post over at  the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and today's card is snow fun!

I started creating the background by embossing some pretty stars in white and then blending distress inks to make the sky.

Are these penguins from Frantic Stamper Penguin Family cute or what?  I cut them out of black and white card stock and glued them together onto a piece of scrap card stock.  I find that it's easier to build the penguins first so that I can move them around on my card front to find the placement I like.

Next I cut the Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes out of white card stock.  I added some Zig two way glue to the stitched edge and covered it using Elizabeth Crafts Silk Microfine Glitter in Warm Diamond.  I also cut a Frantic Stamper Igloo and gave that a coating of Warm Diamond glitter as well.

Next I played around with the layout of the landscapes and igloo.

Once the card base was assembled I knew I wanted the penguins to be tumbling around in the snow.

Here's the dies I used that can be found at Dies R Us:

2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I couldn't let the opportunity to play along with this years Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop pass by.
Winter 2016 Blog Hop
As I sit here drinking my second cup of coffee with coconut creme creamer (YUM!), and this morning's temperature of 11 degree's, I couldn't think of a more perfect tribute to a hot cup of coffee.

I used Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags to make my cards.  I love the design on these two coffee cups!  The sentiment is pieced together using Kitchen Sink Stamps Cup of Warm Comfort and Just Rite Fall Applique which is discontinued.

Stay warm and toasty!  Thanks for stopping by.  Blessings ~ Birgit

Newton's Nook ~ Darling Duo's

Hello friends~  I'm popping in to share a card I made with a new to me Newton's Nook set called Darling Duo's.  I'm completely smitten by the images in this set.

These kitties are the cutest ever!  Newton and his friends are so adorable!!

I had a dachshund named Liesel when I was young so I colored these darling dachshund's in similar colors of my sweet dog.

Some Glossy Accents on the hearts to make them shine.

I paired the love birds with an MFT Die-namics rainbow.

These love birds got a healthy coating of Wink of Stella.

I'll be adding one of the cards to the following challenges:

Die Cut Club ~ WINNERS POST!

Hello friends~ Let's jump right in with the winner of the December Die Cut Club Kit.
Congratulations to Oma!
Please contact me so I can get your package of die cuts out to you as soon as possible.

The Die Cut Club of Green Duck Sales
is a monthly subscription  where you will receive 10 to 15 top quality, fully colored and embellished die cuts a month.  As you can see in the photo below, you get a lot more than 10-15 die cuts and they're all as cute as can be!

Each month is a different theme and all these dies are professionally cut using 100lb card stock. You can purchase one month of dies or a subscription of dies throughout the year.  The dies are sent out at the beginning of each month.

This card features the adorable Christmas stockings that are included in the December kit.  They come complete with glittered stripes!  I simply embossed the front of the card base using a Darice Fireplace embossing folder and added the stockings.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold, making this a very quick and simple card.

There are several of these adorable little children die cuts included in the kit as well.  This one hold a Christmas bauble with a glittered bow.  I tucked a gift package behind him (also from the kit) and added a sweet sentiment from Penny Black.

Starting with a black card base, I added a strip of gold glittered paper to the bottom and heat embossed a Penny Black sentiment in gold.  I added the bells, which came with the red ribbon bow and pearl, and sleigh from the kit and a few iridescent sequins to finish it off.

You can find all the details about The Die Cut Club HERE.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
