Sugar Egg Easel Card ~ TSOC

Are you enjoying beautiful spring weather yet?  It's coming along here on the east coast and what better way to celebrate than to create a springy, Easter card for the new challenge starting over at The Sisterhood of Crafters, where the theme is "EASTER / SPRING".

I was inspired by this card made by my team mate Diane a few weeks ago.  Her card made me think of the sugar eggs that you see all decorated up for Easter.

Of course my version is flat and made out of paper, but you get the idea.

I created an easel style card, using Memory Box Half Dozen Eggs to create the sugar egg.  I added this sweet Marianne Designs Bunny to the inside of the egg.

I don't know if you can tell, but the center of the egg is popped up using foam tape but the outside edge of the egg is glued directly down giving it an ovalesque shape.  I added some Forget Me Nots from The Greetery and the eggs are from the Marianne Designs Bunny set.

The "Happy" is from Frantic Stamper and the "spring" banner is an oldie from Taylored Expressions.

I hope you'll visit The Sisterhood of Crafters to play along with this fun spring challenge.

Up, Up and Away!

Hi there!  There's a new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges and the theme is "Skies".  This could be open to lots of interpretations.

I went completely whimsical with my card using a Pretty Pink Posh set called  "Fly Away Friends" that I was given a while ago from a dear stamping friend.

I embossed the background using a cloud embossing folder and added Stitched Majestic Mountains from Poppy Stamps.

After stamping and die cutting the images, I colored them using Copics and added more clouds from Memory Box Stitched Cloud Trio. The sun is an old die from Lil' Inker Designs.

I hope you'll join in on the fun.  You can find all the details here.

Here's the prize you could win when you play along:

Elegant Easel Card

Hello~  There's a new challenge starting up over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and we're looking for easel cards.
I enjoy making easel cards but I don't make them often enough.  They're the kind of card that has that wow factor when opened.

For this card, I used the elegant dies from Creative Expressions, Australian Collection.  The background and the Brisbane label are from two different sets but they're made to go together.

I cut both of them from gold mirrored cardstock and backed them with white.

I also layered on pink and red cardstock to coordinate with the rose image that I found online and printed on my computer.

The final touch is the bow that was cut using Memory Box Stitched Bows.  This card will go to my hubby's mom for Mother's Day.  I love how this turned out!

I hope you'll hop on over to The Sisterhood of Crafters blog to join in on the fun!

Tropical Kitties

Good morning friends.  There's a new Double D Challenge starting today and the theme is "Book Covers".

My card was clearly inspired by the book titled "There's A Tiger In The Garden".  I think that sounds like a marvelous story!

I knew immediately that I wanted to use these darling Eline's Lion/Tiger dies from Marianne Designs.  I stamped tropical leaves from Concord & 9th "Toucan Paradise" on the background of this card and added some Palm Leaves from Echo Park.

I lightly stenciled a polka dotted background for the King of the Forest on this card.  Doesn't he look fierce??

Here's what you could win when you play along:

I do hope you'll visit the Double D Challenge blog to see more inspiration from my talented team mates and join in on the fun!

Flying Lion! ~ Dies R Us

Good morning friends~ There's a new challenge starting up over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and if you recall, the theme is "Anything Goes" all year long!
This makes it so easy for us, as a design team, and for you, as a participant!
For my card today, I used a darling die from Nellie's Choice called Lion In Airplane.  This is a special order die that I purchased during one of the many Special Order events that Dies R Us has.

The die set also comes with the body of the lion so he isn't stuck flying his plane all the time.

I hope you'll visit the DRU Challenge blog to see more inspiration from our amazing design team and join in on the fun.  While you're there, be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you can be one of the first to be notified of their special order events.
