SSS ~ Work It Wednesday Challenge

Good morning fellow paper loving friends! I'm here this morning to add a card to the Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday challenge. You must check out the warm, fall colors for the challenge HERE and then go make a card or two and join in on the fun!
Here's a card that I made for the challenge:

I stamped the image from SSS "Giving Thanks" onto a piece of cardstock that was cut using a MFT Postage Stamp Die. Before I removed the die cut from the die, I gently sponged some Tim Holtz Freyed Burlap Distress Ink around the edges so I'd have a white border around the base for my image.
Other stamp sets I used were SSS "Envelope Sentiments" and from SNSS "Vintage Postcard".

I think I'll make some type of gift bag next to go along with it to complete the set. All products are from MFT.

This next card uses the same color scheme but I've used products from MFT, Martha Stewart and PTI

I'm also entering this card into the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge.

Find Joy Tag

Hello paper crafting friends~ It's not very often I get to participate in the MFT Color Palette challenge, but this month was the exception. What a unique and lovely color combination they chose! You can check out the challenge HERE.
I opted for a tag this time since I just recently received the new Tag Builder Blueprints and I was itching to use it.

The sentiment is from LJD's Cheerful Blessings. I also used Tag Builder BP1, Layered Leaves Die, Gerbera Daisy Die and Typewriter Text Background.

Card #3 for PTI's Monthly Bloghop

Here's my third and last card I made for the Bloghop over at Nichole's blog. I used this sketch:
and here's my card:

For this card I used Background Basics Plaid and then created the floral background section using Tag Its #5, the Lacy Border Die and the sentiment is from Half & Half. Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Card #2 for the PTI Bloghop

Here's my second card I made using this sketch from Nichole's Bloghop.

I wasn't too keen on how this card came out. I had a hard time finding an image that was large enough to be seen when adding the sentiment strip through the center. I ended up cutting the image from Doodlie-Do in half, and then I didn't like the off centered circles so I tried covering them up with one of the button stacks. Oh well, it's done and I have another Christmas card to add to my stash for this year. The sentiment is from Holiday Photo Finishers.

PTI Monthly Blog Hop

It's that time of the month again for PaperTrey Inks monthly Bloghop! Nichole picked such a pretty color scheme this month!! I love it!
Isn't it so lovely?? Puts me right in the mood for fall and the colors are ones that I wouldn't think to put together on my own.
Anyway, here's one of my cards for the blog hop using this sketch.

I wanted to somehow recreate the image of the berries so I stamped the beautiful vine image in Ripe Avacado and then the berries using both sweet blush and Autumn Rose, off-setting them in the blank space. I used Embellished Elegance and the sentiment is from Botanical Blocks.
Thanks so much for visiting! Have fun on the bloghop!

Birds Of A Feather

It's been a while since I've played along with the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room, but I love birds and their inspiration colors and photo just drew me in! I went literally with the inspiration photo and came up with this card:

The card base is an oldie from my stash. I have several of these card bases that I'd like to use up and this card just seemed to fit what was going on in my head. I wanted a soft, water color look using Out On A Limb from Papertrey Ink, so I spritzed my stamped image with water after inking it up. I also used my water brush pen and softened it even more. Click on the picture to make it bigger and you can see some of the beautiful detail. The soft background color was made by pouncing ink spots onto an acrylic stamp base and spritzing it with water to which I laid a piece of water color paper on top until it absorbed the color. Exactly the soft, dreamy look I was going for! The sentiment is from Under His Wings by Sweet N' Sassy Stamps. A sheer polka dot ribbon and some pretty sequins finish it off.
I'm also entering this card into the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.

All My Heart

Today's card goes along with the PTI Make it Monday challenge. Laura Bassen made a great card using diecuts and the emboss-resist technique. You can check out her video HERE.
Here's the card I made for the challenge:

For this card I used the Happy Hearts Cover Plate, With All My Heart sentiment and dies and Life is Sweet. The candy dots are from Now & Then. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Vintage Halloween Fun!

So I've been seeing everyone's fall and Halloween projects popping up all over in blogland and got bit by the crafty bug to create some of my own. Some are free images I found online and have been hoarding on my computer and some of the images are from Crafty Secrets so I'm entering those cards into their September Linky Party and the Paper Players Happy Fall Y'all Challenge.
Ok, so this first one isn't a card but I still had to share because it's too cute not to share! I have this frame that I switch out seasonally starting last Valentine's day. Now it's ready for the fall!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit

Easel Card

Hello friends~ Erin Lincoln had a great tutorial on the PTI Blog on how to make an easel card using just about any shaped die to cut the center out for the legs. Her's was a back to school card and since my kids are no longer in school and I've already made all my nieces and nephews their back to school cards (seen here), I thought I'd make mine into a birthday card because I like to have extra's on hand when I need one.

I used the banner builder die and cut some banners out of printed birthday scrapbooking paper and added it to a red string that I strung across the top. The sentiment is from Movers & Shakers Sentiments
I think these little easel cards are just darling and will probably make more!
