12 Kits of Occasion ~ June

Good morning friends~  It's the end of the month so that means it's time for a group post for the 12 Kits of Occasion gals to post our projects using kits put together by one of our amazingly talented team mates.  This month's kit was hosted by the incredibly talented Michelle Leone of Pretty Periwinkle and it's titled "Love Is In The Air".

Michelle's style is so sweet and I love the way she uses color.  I always enjoy visiting her blog and seeing her creations.  Thanks so much Michelle for a delightful kit!

Michelle had this sweet panel all stamped in these lovely colors.  All I had to do was frame it using some dies from my stash.  This card literally came together in minutes.

The lacy heart die cut is so pretty.  I tucked the pretty flowers behind and added the sentiment banner that was also included in Michelle's kit.  Again, so quick and easy.

Isn't the color palette Michelle used lovely?  I have lots of leftovers because I know I'll be wanting to CASE my ever talented friends once I start visiting their blogs.  Thank you again Michelle for a delightful kit!  I wish I had your eye for color!!

If you'd like to win one of these kits, be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how the rest of my talented team mates used Michelle's adorable kit and leave a comment.   She'll be picking a winner for the kit from all the comments and maybe it will be you!

A Multi-Layered Background and Happy News

Hello friends~  I have some happy news to share.  I'll be joining The Sisterhood of Crafters design team starting today!  So I'll be jumping right in with a card I made for the "Stenciling" challenge.
I started by stamping a background using Carta Bella Travel Journal in kraft ink.  I then pulled out my rarely used stencils.

I used a Polka Dot stencil from Simon Says Stamp and stenciled the polka dots on using Squeezed Lemonade DOX ink.  Next I used a new to me Leaves & Berries stencil from Altenew and some Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K Designs and stenciled that on top.

Here's a photo of the finished background.  I just love the shimmer from the Glitz Glitter Gel.  So pretty!

I used up an oval scrap that was sitting on my craft table and the sunflower image from Clearly Besotted Sunshine & Smiles was already colored and sitting in my box of colored images, just waiting to be used.

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!
You will have until Sunday, June 21st to enter.  Winners will be announced on Tuesday, July 5th.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Celebration ~ Double D Challenge ~ Wedding

Hello stamplings!  I'm always happy when I find ways to use up some of the printed design papers in my stash.  This challenge from Double D Challenges, "Wedding"  gave me the perfect opportunity to do that!

I started with these beautiful papers from Mintay by Karola called 7th Heaven.
I cut a frame using Spellbinder Hemstitch Rectangles and fussy cut a floral spray from the printed papers and added it to the lower right corner.

This lovely cake is cut using Sue Wilson Designs Make A Cake Necessities Collection.  I adore this die set!!  I lightly blended some spun sugar Distress Oxide Ink to each of the cake layers and then assembled the cake, adding tiny flowers from Cheery Lynn Designs Baby's Breath Flower Kit.  The ivy is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Hopefully you can see the glittered Stickles I used in the centers of each of the flowers.

For the sentiment, I used Papertrey Inks Banner Style

Please stop by the Double D Challenge Blog for more inspiration from my talented team mates and join in on the fun!

DRU Summertime Fun

Hello stamplings ~  There's a new challenge starting up today over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is "Summer Time Fun".

I am a summer girl but summers are short here on the east coast so I have learned to make the best of it.  One way is using some of my favorite summer themed ocean dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs to create lots and lots of cards.

This crab from Elizabeth Craft Designs Seashells is such a jolly ole' chap!  He always makes me smile.  I paired him with Elizabeth Craft Designs Palm Trees for a quick and easy card.

You can find all the details and join in on the fun by clicking here.  You could be the next winner of a DRU Gift Certificate!

I wanted to remind you that we have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has opened a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. Tropical Hibiscus

Good morning stamplings~  I'm popping in today with a card that fits well with a couple of challenges:
There's nothing prettier than a mason jar filled with colorful blooms to brighten a room.  Sunny Studio's Hawaiian Hibiscus look so pretty stamped in a variety of vibrant colors and they fit perfectly in the Mason Jar from The Greetery.

The colors I used to stamp the hibiscus flowers are all from Altenew.  I like the mini cube sets that come in coordinating colors.  I used Warm & CozyPocketful of Sunshine and Spring Bouquet.  The leaves are also stamped using Spring Bouquet,

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Ocean's Of Fun!

Good morning friends~  I've got a few sweet ocean themed card for you this morning using some fun dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I created the background on this card using the Ocean Edges die and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink.  This die set comes with 5 different wave designs so it's easy to create a random wave pattern.  I made my own stencil but cutting 4 different edges onto a square piece of thick vellum, one die for each side.  I simply rotate the vellum and stencil in another wave design.  Because of the thickness of the vellum, I was able to wipe it clean with a baby wipe and I'll have it to use over and over again!
I added some Seaweed that was cut from white cardstock and then covered in Silk Microfine Glitter by running the die cut through my Xyron and rubbing the glitter onto the surface making it sparkle.  The darling little Mermaid was cut and assembled and then I added some Clear Wink of Stella to her body.

I'll be adding this card to the Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Create Your Own Background

My next card uses Joset's Octopus.  I simply stenciled in some sunrays using Broken China DOX ink and stamped the sentiment from Splish Splash Sentiments.  I cut the octopus out of a soft orange card stock and added a bit of Spiced Marmalade DOX ink all around.  The bubbles are from the Sea Turtle die set, which you'll see in my next card.  Isn't he cute?

And here is the Sea Turtle, oh my!  I just love him!  He looks so happy to be swimming in amongst the seaweed.

My last card uses the Ocean Edges die and this adorable Whale die.  He comes complete with his little sailor's hat.  Oh my!  I think he's "s'whale"!

I hope you're all staying well and healthy.  We're starting to see things opening up here in Maine, though I've discovered that I'm very happy staying at home.
Be well and

Use Your Scraps ~ Double D Challenge

Good morning friends~ This is the day that the Lord has made...
There's a new challenge starting over at Double D Challenge and we're asking you to use some of those scraps you have lying around.

I have a box of scrappy paper, another box filled with baggies that are full of images that are already stamped and die cuts waiting to be used and a pile of images to color. I was happy to pull these items out and turn them into cards.

I had two of these adorable bunnies waiting to be colored, that were given to me by my sweet friend Lisa.  This one is called Puttering Around by artist Michelle Masters.  Once they were colored, I cut them using a puffy cloud die from Lawn Fawn.  The flowers from PTI were already stamped and cut and the background paper came from my scrap box.  I always enjoy the chance to use up scraps and I hope you'll join in on this fun challenge too.

Here's what you could win:
