Garden Birds ~ TSOC

Hello, I'm popping in with a card for the new challenge starting over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.  The theme is "Anything Goes".

Once Christmas is over, my heart yearns for spring.  So I thought I'd take advantage of this "Anything Goes" challenge and share this card that I made using Craft Consortium Garden Gate ~ Birds and the Bees.

The images in this set are so "tweet"!  I used a polka dot cover plate from PTI for the background.  Easy peasy!

You can find all the details and join in on the fun right here.

Bleeding Heart ~ Double D

Good morning friends~  A new challenge is up over at Double D Challenges and we're looking for projects with a heart.  2020 has taken a toll on many people.  Illness, struggles, isolation, death of loved ones.  The list goes on and on.  Each day is a gift waiting to be unwrapped, for better or for worse.  I'm so thankful that I know that The God of the Universe is in control of all things. Yes, there is suffering, but He is there with us as we journey through life.

I made this card for a friend who has been struggling with many health issues.  I hope she knows how much she is loved.

I used a Brick & Mortar embossing folder from Stamping up! for the background.
Though it's hard to see, I added some gray ink to the mortar part of the embossing folder before running it through the die cutting machine.  It adds just a bit more dimension.

The verse is from PTI's Expression of Empathy and the brackets and bleeding hearts are from their Make It Market Garden Gate kit.  Oldie but goodie!

Here's what you could win when you play along.
And here's the inspiration photo to help you get motivated.

I do hope you'll visit the Double D Challenge blog to see my talented teamies creations for this challenge and join in on the fun!

Birthday Candles

I've been running low on birthday cards so I thought I'd ramp up my supply using some dies from Dies R Us.  And since there's a new challenge starting today, this is the perfect opportunity to share what I made:
I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Birthday Candles and Banners to create a couple of quick and easy cards.

I cut the base of the candles out of white cardstock and added the top layers, cut from pastel colors.  I heat embossed the curvy banner with white embossing powder and popped it up over the candles with pop dots while gluing the tails of the banners directly on to the paper to add dimension.

This card uses the straight banner.  I like this banner set as it comes with four different banner styles so there's always one that works for what I need.

Hello Sunshine ~ TSOC

Hello sunshine!  There's a new challenge starting over at The Sisterhood of Crafters titled "Smile Like the Sun".  Isn't that a cheerful title?

What could possibly be more cheerful than bluebirds singing in the sunshine?
We've been in our house for 21 years and this is the first winter I've had bluebirds at my suet feeders.  I've enjoyed watching 6-8 at a time too.  They brought sunshine to my cold and dreary winter days and I hope that this card will bring sunshine to whomever it goes too.

I went a little crazy stamping and coloring these adorable bluebirds from Hello Bluebird Garden Friends.  They seriously have the cutest stamps...
I think they're swell!

I gave them a sunny background using a Sun Rays Quilted Card Panel from Frantic Stamper, cut out of yellow cardstock.  I added some Mustard Seed DOX ink to the edges to add a bit of depth.

I added a puffy polka dotted vellum cloud and the "Sunshine" sentiment die is an older die from WPLUS9.  I cut it out of yellow cardstock and added some Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade inks to the bottom of the die.

I hope you'll join in on the fun with this next challenge.  It's sure to brighten your day!  You can find all the details here.

Valentine Love ~ Double D

Good morning friends~  A new challenge is up over at Double D Challenges and we're looking for Valentine projects.

I used a Spellbinders Hemstitch to create the frame on white linen cardstock.

I added a cupcake from Elizabeth Craft Designs with some sprinkled iridescent sugar on top.

The die cut sentiment is also from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I added a black layer to give the appearance of a shadow to help the words stand out more.

Birthday Birds

Good morning friends~ There's a new challenge starting up over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and if you recall, the theme is "Anything Goes" all year long!
This makes it so easy for us, as a design team, and for you, as a participant!

At one of the recent Special Order Events, I purchased this darling stamp set from Craft Consortium, Cottage Garden series called Birds and the Bees.
Oh my, it is filled with the cutest images!!

I stamped all the images onto white cardstock and colored them with Copics.  For this card, I cut the image using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles and backed it with coordinating ECD Postage Rectangles.

For the background, I cut design paper using ECD Stitched Rectangles and added a Horizon Fishtail Banner from Taylored Expressions.  I then added the layered image over the top.  To finish it off, I added an Elizabeth Craft Designs Banner cut from coordinating printed paper.

I hope you'll visit the DRU Challenge blog to see more inspiration from our amazing design team and join in on the fun.  While you're there, be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you can be one of the first to be notified of their special order events.
