Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #369 ~ Great Outdoors

Good Sunday morning to you all~  Today starts a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations and this week is a theme challenge.

This amazing cupcake inspires thoughts of camping and roasting marshmallows on an open fire.

Our sponsor this week is My Grafico and they're giving one free digital set, winner's choice, to the winner.  Once you see their images, you'll definitely want to play along.

You don't have to use their images to play, just use what you have and have fun!

I used images from Cool Caravans that they so generously gave us to use.  Thanks so much!  I really enjoyed creating with these images!!

Since the colors on the images were so fun and playful, I went in that direction while creating my backgrounds as well, using fun printed papers and some landscape dies.  The sun is from Lil' Inkers and the clouds are from Taylored Expressions.  The sweet flag is one of the images from the set and I used it to stamp my sentiment on.

I've had a request for some retirement cards and thought one of these campers might fit the bill perfectly.  The fun banners are from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I printed the sentiment out on my home printer and cut it using a stitched rectangle die.

Here's the inside of this card, using one of the flower graphics from the same set.  I love the bright, fun colors!

On this card, I added some stitched Pine Trees from Poppy Stamps and a Lil' Inkers sun.  I think they go perfectly with these Cool Caravans!

Be sure to hop on over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog to see what the other amazing designers have come up with and then join in on the fun!

Marcia's & My Monthly Challenge ~ July & A GIVEAWAY!

Hello friends!  It's time for Marcia's & my monthly challenge.  For any of you that visit us on a regular basis, you know that we started this challenge a year ago now, (July 16th to be exact) and have been keeping steady ever since by challenging each other with either colors, a theme or using a particular stamp set each month.  Aside from having fun each month and stretching my creativity, I have so enjoyed our growing friendship more than anything!!  Even now, as I type this, I have tears in my eye's thinking about the great blessing of friendship I've been given.  I am forever grateful!

This month we challenged each other to use the set "Eva's Favorite Flowers" by Winnie & Walter since it was fairly new to both of us.

This was the first card I made.  Simply stamped and cut using a stitched rectangle die from MFT's Blueprints #13.  The "Happy" was cut from gold card stock using a die from Our Daily Bread and the rest of the sentiment was stamped in black from PTI's Embellished Elegance and the underline from Over, Under, Easy.

I started this card by cutting the bottom edge of white card stock with Simon Say Stamp "Thanks Scallop Border" and did the stamping using Lovely Lady, Raspberry Fizz, Fine Linen, Spring Moss, Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores.  The polka dotted paper on the bottom is from MFT.

I started on this card by heat embossing the outline flower images from the set in white onto White Linen card stock.  I then added some distress inks in Tumbled Glass, Dusty Concord and Abandoned Coral.  I spritzed it with a bit of water to remove some color, though it's hard to see in the photo.  I added the cute little bunny and sentiment from Marianne Designs "Some Bunny Loves You".

I think this card is my favorite because I love how the typewriter font shows through when stamped on.  I heat embossed MFT's Typewriter Text Background in white and cut it using the same MFT Blueprints #13 Stitched Rectangle die.  I then did the stamping using Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, and Spring Moss (from PTI) and  Ocean Waves & Sea Glass (from Altenew)  The sentiment is from PTI's Bold & Beautiful Sentiments.

On this card I stamped the images from the set using Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado and Spring Moss and Memento's Wedding Dress.  The sentiment is from PTI's Walk By Faith.

For my last card I wanted to do a Kath Kidston inspired design.  I adore Kath's use of colors and vintage style.  The "Thankful" die is from Impression Obsession and the rest of the sentiment is from Altenew's Fresh Freesia.

Now, are you ready for a big surprise?  Since it's our 1 year anniversary, both Marcia and I decided to do a little giveaway on each of our blogs.  Leave a comment below and we'll each pick a random winner from our blog to win all the dies you see here and on Marcia's blog.  Please note that these are both two separate giveaways, so you have to leave a comment on both blogs.
let us know what you think of our monthly challenges, if you'd like to play along with us, and if you have any ideas to challenge us with too!

Be sure to visit Marcia's blog and see her collection of beautiful cards.  I'm sure she'll knock your socks off!  She always does mine!!  AND don't forget to leave a comment if you want to win.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Dies R Us ~ More Under The Sea Inspiration

Good morning friends~  It's my turn over at the Dies R Us Inspiration blog and I've got more cards for you from Under The Sea.

I started by cutting some Elizabeth Craft Designs Seaweed  out of colored card stock and sprayed each piece of seaweed with similar colored shimmery mists by Heidi Swapp.  That gave the seaweed a nice shimmery shine!

For this card, I cut the Elizabeth Craft Designs Turtle out of two shades of green and added some color around the body of the turtle using distress ink.

For the background of this card, I rubbed in some distress inks in greens and blues on the top portion and masked off the bottom section which I distressed using tattered straw and a darker brown.  I  spritzed the background with water to remove some color and then spritzed on more Heidi Swapp shimmer spray.  Once it was dry I adhered the turtle, layered the seaweed and added some iridescent sequins to look like water bubbles.  I left this card without a sentiment and sent it to a very dear friend of mine.

On these next two cards I used some old printed scrapbook paper for the backgrounds and used the Elizabeth Craft Designs Seahorse and seaweed for a quick and easy card.

I added some saffron colored Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs to the outline part of this seahorse die.   It's really pretty in real life, the way it shimmers and shines.  The large seashell is from Elizabeth Craft Designs Large Shells.

Here's a list of supplies I used from Dies R Us:

PTI July Blog Hop

Hi friends!  I'm playing along with this month's PTI Blog Hop.
Here's Nicole's inspiration photo for this month:
Blog Hop Inspiration

And here's my card:

I started by cutting some grey colored card stock using the Hexagon Cover Plate and trimming it off, keeping a random shape and adhered it to the card front.  I stamped some ink splats using MFT's Distressed Patterns and added the outside frame from Pretty Frame Die.  I cut and stamped the flowers and leaves from Painted Petals using Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Soft Stone and Aqua Mist and the flower branch and bird from Spring Woods.

I popped the bird and spring branch up using foam tape to add dimension.  The sentiment is from Walk By Faith.  I added some candy dots to the centers of some of the small flowers and some gold dots for accents.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have fun along the hop!
Blessins~ Birgit

Cupcake Inspirations #368 ~ A Color Challenge

Hello friends~  It's time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and this week is a color challenge:

Don't those cupcakes look delightful?  If you don't have the exact colors, just use whatever you have that's close.

Our sweet sponsor this week is A Day For Daisies and they so generously allowed each of us designers to choose any graphic we wanted, to  inspire you with.  I chose this adorable Happy Birdie Blue image because I just love birds and this little fella has found a special friend to spend some time with.
Thank you so much Arielle!  Your images are so fabulous!

I started by printing out the image on my home printer and coloring it in using Copics.  I added some white gel pen details to both the bird and snail and then fussy cut them out.  I cut and stamped the tree branch from Sweet N' Sassy Stamps Love Birds for the friends to sit upon.  The background is made using a stitched rectangle frame from MFT's Blueprints #13 and a Stitched Cloud Edger also from MFT.    The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Absolutely Delightful.

Be sure to stop by the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog to see what amazing projects the other designers have done using these fun images and awesome color palette.
You could be the winner of a $12 gift certificate to A Day For Daisies

Happy Stamp A-Faire and Happy Birthday!

Hello friends~  Today is the day for PTI's  long awaited Stamp-A-Faire!
SAF-2016-logo
I look forward to this event as much as I look forward to their anniversary each year and I haven't missed a SAF yet.... until this year.
I just happens to fall on the same day as my birthday.  I'm spending the day with my family and hopefully having as much fun (if not more ;0) ) as I would be if I were spending it playing along with you fun friends, creating along with the amazing PTI design team.

So I just wanted to pop in and say "hi" and share this lovely card that I CASEd from the ever talented Heather Nichols, just so I could say I played along.

I used Super Gingham, Forget Me Not, Bitty Bouquet and Choose Joy, using the same color palette as Heather used, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate and Avocado as well as Memento's Wedding Dress.

I also want to give a BIG shout out to wish Karen Letchworth from My Cup Runneth Over a HAPPY BIRTHDAY as well!  We share the same special day!!
HaPpY BiRtHdAy Karen!

Have fun at Stamp-A-Faire today and thanks to you if you took the time to stop by and say "hi".  I can't wait to play catch up and see all your wonderful creations.

Hugs & Blessings to you ~ Birgit

PTI's Make-It Monday ~ Spritzed Stamps

Good morning friends~  I'm playing along with PTI's Make-It Monday with Melissa Phillips.  She's got a great video on Spritzed Stamps where you spray your inked up stamp with water before stamping it, leaving a dreamy textured image.  I never grow tired of this technique!

I used Forget Me Not flowers and stamped them in Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy and the leaves in Spring Moss.  I made  happy discovery that this die cut bunch of flowers fit perfectly into the wheelbarrow from Elizabeth Crafts.   I popped a couple of the flowers up using foam tape to add some dimension.

You can kind of see the texture a little better in this close up photo.

I stamped the sentiment from A Cheerful Heart with VersaMark and heat embossed it in silver on a skinny banner from MFT.  The yummy citrus colored sequins are from Winnie & Walter.

You can find all the details of Melissa's sweet cards HERE.

I'll also be adding this card to the following challenges:

Perfectly Plaid Baby Cards with Dies R Us

Good morning friends~ I've got some baby cards up for you today at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
These came together so quickly and easily, as I used the same design on all of them.
I started by cutting the largest Memory Box Open Studio Stitched Rectangles out of various plaid design papers.  The center rectangle is cut using Lawn Fawn Small Cross Stitched Rectangles.  I then cut Impression Obsession Patchwork Elephant out of both blue's and pinks to make a baby boy and baby girl card.  I added the "Welcome" banner from Taylored Expressions Welcome Spring die set and stamped a sentiment along the bottom of the white panel.

Each card is the same but different.

Today's tip:  Use various printed papers when cutting with dies to create fun, mix and match cards.  They go together quickly and easily!

Here's a list of products I used that you can find in the Dies R Us Store:
