12 Kits of Occasion ~ September

Hello!  Hello!  Fall is definitely in the air here in Maine and Marybeth from Marybeth's Time For Paper  has put together a wonderfully festive kit for this months 12 Kits of Occasion.

Here's my cards:
Marybeth included these wonderful printed papers from PTI and this fun sentiment.  All I added was this darling little cup filled with a pumpkin spice latte from Darcie's Cookies and Cocoa.  It's actually a Christmas image but I covered the holly and berries with a couple of leaves that were in the kit and tried to make the peppermint sticks look like cinnamon sticks.  There's a heavy dose of Wink of Stella on the cinnamon sticks to sweeten them up a bit!
Next up is a shaker card.  Everything I used was included in Marybeth's kit.  Super cute!

Love this pumpkin cart from PTI. I'd love to have one sitting on my front porch to fill with the harvest of each season.

A pretty leaf image embossed on water color paper.  I used zigs to color it in and added a strip of gold, some paper from the kit and twine that was wrapped around the kit when it arrived.  Marybeth sure knows how to make a presentation!

Again, everything here was included in the kit.  I cut the scalloped edge out of the orange cardstock she sent.

These lovely leaves were colored using distress inks.  The rake was left over from a project last year.  I finally found a use for it!  I added some rain drops to finish it off.

I absolutely loved these images from Purple Onion Marybeth sent.  I colored them up using Copics and created a slider for these little fella's to ride their bike on.

  The sentiments are computer generated.

I added some Glossy Accents to the little frog to make him look slimy and gave texture to the little fox and scenery using a scrap of towel soaked with Copic blender.

What a fun, fun kit this was to work with!  Thanks so much Marybeth!  I'll enjoy using up the leftovers after I see all my friends cards.  I know I'll want to CASE them all!

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how the other gals were inspired by Marybeth's kit.

Joy! And Some REALLY JOYFUL News...

Hello friends~  I'm popping in with another card to enter in Darnell's 12th NBUS Challenge

I picked up this cute image from Santoro London Gorjuss  designs when I went to the Stamp / Scrapbook Expo in Mass. a few weeks ago.  Her name is Holly.  Isn't she cute?
They had all kinds of sweet designs but by the time I got to shop, she was the only one left so when I got home I looked them up online and found so many cute images and they're lesss than $2.50 at Scrapbook.com.

I made a tag to go along with the card.   The die cut "JOY" is from PTI.

I'll also be entering this card into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

There's still time to play along with Darnell's challenge.  You can find all the details here.

Oh and if you can stay a little longer, I have some really JOYFUL news to share.  Our daughter and Son-in-law just shared with us last night that they are expecting a baby in May 2018!!  I can't even begin to express the joy, excitement and love that I feel toward this tiny little peanut.

I wish I could share the video that my son-in-law took  of my hubby and I while we opened the brown paper package tied up with string.  It truly is my favorite thing!!  Let's just say that there were many tears of joy and it took me hours to fall asleep last night from the excitement.  I'm pretty sure I fell asleep and woke up wearing the same smile.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Festive Fall Candle

Warm days, cool nights and turning leaves have welcomed fall in abundance here in Maine!  One of the things I love about fall and cooler weather is burning my favorite candles.  Here's a project using a battery operated candle, so it's beautiful to look at and not a safety issue.

Here's a glimpse at some of the products I used:

I started with a 5 1/2 " battery operated candle and made layered wraps using 111lb Gmund Tindalo Wood Grain Cardstock cut at 4"x10".  The next layer uses CCS Gold Glitter Paper cut at 2 3/4"x10" and the last layer is a leftover scrap of Tindalo Woodgrain paper cut at 1"x10".  I adhered each layer using Score-Tape for a strong bond.

I glued the two pumpkins together using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and heat embossed a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp "Thank You for Everything" using Gold Embossing Powder.

I then started layering the shapes on using Glue Dots.  This allowed the shapes to hang off the edges and not be completely stuck down giving the appearance of more dimension.

I finished the project off with a piece of bakers twine and a pretty fall leaf charm.

You'll find all these wonderful products and more when you visit Cut Cardstock online.  You'll also find fabulous sales on brownorange and gold cardstocks as well as the wood grain cardstock!

While you're there, be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you'll be the first to know when new items are on sale.  You can also follow Cut Carstock on facebook.

Pop-Up Fun ~ A Special Birthday Card for a Special Little Girl

Good morning friends~  I've been waiting for a challenge to arise where I could post this card to and it finally came along.
I made this pop-up card for my dear friend Marcia's grand-daughter's birthday.
I had to change the age balloon from a 2 to a 3.  Oops!  But it all worked out good.  The 2 came off pretty easily with no visible signs of damage.

Here's a photo showing the dimension.
All the animals are from Marianne Designs.  They have the cutest collection of animals!
I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

ECD Spooktacular September Designer Challenge

Good morning  friends~  There's a new Designer Challenge starting today over at Elizabeth Craft Designs and it's truly "Spooktacular"!
The design team has created cards and projects with a Halloween theme.  Here's my inspiration:

Here's how I made it:
I started by cutting some Spring Green Soft Finish Cardstock using the wavy die from Adventure Edges and then blending on a bit of Crushed Olive Distress Ink.

I used Haunted House dies to cut the house and witch out of Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock and put  scraps of yellow cardstock behind the windows of the haunted house.  A panel of Perfect Purple Soft Finish Cardstock was used on top of an A-2 sized top folding card base.
Just look at these adorable Spooky Sentiments and coordinating Labels 1 dies.   Now which fun sentiment should I use?

My finished card with some iridescent sequins to finish it off.

For today's challenge Elizabeth Craft Designs are giving away a $20 Gift Card to use on our website to 3 winners

To enter simply leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Challenge post and tell us "what are some of your favorite products you choose when creating spooky scenes for Halloween?

Create Along with PTI ~ A Day To Celebrate

Good morning friends~  I'm playing along this week with PTI's Create Along With Us.  I chose Lizzie's gift card holder for inspiration found HERE, but I made mine into a card:
I used Plaid Builder and  a Nuvo Glitter Marker to make the ribbon and added Beautiful Berries Spring and the bow from Kind of Corny.  The sentiment from Beautiful Berries is embossed in gold.

Here's Lizzie's gift card holder:

Pumpkin Spice

Fall is nearly upon us so guess what that means?  It's time for PUMPKIN SPICE everything!

Here's a snapshot of the products I used today:

I started by stamping this darling little coffee cup from Lawn Fawn's Pumpkin Spice set and colored it using Copic Markers.
I cut the image out using the coordinating Pumpkin Spice Die.

Using the largest Eyelet Stitches border die from Poppy Stamps, I cut the edge off a piece of Lawn Fawn plaid paper and mounted it to an A2 sized top folding card base.

I cut a Memory Box Pinpoint Single Frame panel out of white cardstock and adhered that in the center of the plaid paper.

After gluing the coffee cup to the center of the pinpoint single frame panel, I stamped the sentiment on the right side.

Here's a list of products I used today that can be found at Dies R Us:
