Playing Along With Color Hues

Hello friends~   I've been working outside in the gardens when the sun is shining, but it rained all day yesterday, giving me the chance to play with paper flowers in my craft room.  So, I'm popping in with a trio of cards I made using the colors Coral and Teal, from Color Hues Challenge

I don't know what the trick is to getting "real" color when photographing cards.  The coral colors look more orangey to me and the teal almost takes on a forest green color.  At any rate, they really are coral and teal colors.

I cut the arch using Scrapbook.com Nested Arches and put a piece of printed scrapbooking paper behind.  That color seems to display the coral color the best.  The Hellebores flowers are from Marianne Designs and the sentiment is a premade foiled sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio.

Since I cut out many flowers and leaves, I went on to make two more cards.

Happily using up more of that printed paper and some of the Pinkfresh sentiments.

I have a few flower gardens in my yard, but never have I grown Hellebore.  They're a super early spring flowering perennial.  I may just need to find space for them.   Until then, I'll enjoy making them with paper!

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Hey there friend!  I'm so glad you popped in.  Today's card is for the new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges.  The new theme is "Polka Dots".  Squeal!!  I love me some polka dots!

This sweet polka dotted bird printable made this challenge super easy.

All I had to do was add some die cut hearts and a sentiment.

Card making doesn't get any easier than that, and it turned out super sweet.

Color Hues Round 2

Good morning to you friend!  Happy Mother's day to you, if you wear that hat.  I'm so glad you stopped in for a visit. I enjoyed the color swatch from Color Hues so much, I wanted to do round two using florals.

I pulled out an old favorite stamp set of mine from PTI, Gran's Garden.

I layered the flowers over some scripted papers from my stash.

The bookmark label is also from PTI but unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it.  ETA:  It is called "Basic Bookmark #3", from PTI.

I think I'm getting this card into the Color Hues challenge just in the nick of time.

Succulent Garden Builder Card Set

Hello friends ~ I'm popping in to share a set of cards I made using Honeybee Stamps Succulent Garden Builder Set.

Succulent plants and gardens have become quite the rage in the last few years and it's taken me some time to jump on board with it.  Once I started coloring these dies, I fell instantly in love!

I cut all the die shapes out of 80# white cardstock multiple times so that I could fill those darling pots to make little succulent gardens.

The succulents are colored with Copics in a very free, organic style.

I think this card is my favorite.  I love the green cactus with pink tips.  I wonder if there are really succulents that are colored like that?  I'm happy that in the world of paper crafting, anything can exist.

My cards turned into a set of notecards using some simple background paper and a pretty scallop frame.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Party On with Color Hues

Color Hues has a fun combination of Lilac & Lime to challenge you.

My order from The Greetery arrived the other day and I couldn't wait to play with the new Hey Honeycomb Party Hat, using these colors.

I used Twisted Citron and Milled Lavender to add color to the hat.  The photo doesn't do justice to the colors, as the Twisted Citron has more of an olive-y look.  Trust me when I say, it really does look like lime green in real life.

I added flowers from the Hey Honeycomb Flower Power set.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Pretty Florals ~ Double D Challenge

Hey there crafty friend!  I'm so glad you stopped in.  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Pretty Florals".
Now who doesn't have a ton of florals in their crafty arsenal??
My biggest dilemma for this challenge was deciding which floral set I was going to use.

I finally decided on the Rainboot Planter from Simon Says Stamp.  I had just a few sheets left from Carta Bella's Spring Market Collection that needed to be used up and the rainboots on the printed paper went perfectly with these wellies.

I cut the wellies from a piece of printed paper from the pack and then paper pieced the flowers, which I colored with Copic markers.  I laid the boots over a vellum overlay to soften the papers behind the boots.

Still trying to use up the last bits of paper, I made another card just like it.
The same but different.  ;0)

Please do pop on over to Double D Challenges for a look at what my talented team mates have been up to and join in on the fun!
