A New Year of Birthdays ~ 12 Kits of Occasion 2021

Hello friends.  Todays cards were made using the kit for the 12 Kits of Occasion.  Tracey was our hostess and she sent a delightful kit that helped me add some much needed birthday cards to my stash.  She's calling it "A New Year of Birthdays".   Just look at all that birthday goodness!

Thanks so much Tracey for a delightful kit!

These cards came together so quickly and easily and I have lots of leftovers to make more cards.  Please visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my talented teamies used their kits.

Just My Type ~ TSOC

Hello friends.  The Sisterhood of Crafters is starting a new challenge today and we're looking for you to create your own background.

I created two backgrounds for this card:
For the larger background, I used Concord & 9th Plaid Background, stamping the plaid in Worn Lipstick DOX ink onto pink cardstock.  The lines are stamped in red.

For the smaller background, I stamped a Typewriter Text Background from MFT using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.  I rubbed Worn Lipstick DOX ink over the text and then using an old heart stencil, I added more DOX ink.

The typewriter is from Marianne Designs.  I tucked in a couple of mint green leafy twigs using Frantic Stampers Assorted Foliage.

The finished sentiment on the inside of the card reads "Thanks".

I hope you'll hop on over to The Sisterhood of Crafters blog to join in on the fun!

Good morning stamplings.  It's time for a new challenge over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog.  The theme is now "Anything Goes" all the time!!

I started by creating a base using patterned paper and Elizabeth Craft Designs Scalloped Rectangles.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Scalloped Ovals and Stitched Ovals make the setting for this sweet Impression Obsession Stitched Tulip

I also made a cute little Spellbinders Treat Bag to go along with it.  It's the perfect size to hold a gift card or other small goodies.

Birthday Bear Hugs ~ TSOC

Hello, hello!  The Sisterhood of Crafters is back from our holiday break and we're starting a new challenge today, asking you to use die cuts and/or an embossing Folder.  Sound fun?
Here's what I came up with, using both embossing and die cuts:

I started by embossing a piece of green cardstock using an FSJ Evergreen embossing folder.  I gently rubbed some Pine Needles DOX ink over the raised areas and cut a circle out of the center.

I stamped this darling image from Uniquely Creative Polar Pals and colored it with Copics.  I backed the circle using a piece of watercolor printed paper, tucked the bears in and stamped the hearts from the stamp set, surrounding the bears with love.

To finish it off, I adhered a  Happy Birthday die cut from My Favorite Things.

I hope you are inspired to join in on the fun over at The Sisterhood Of Crafters.
This will be co-designer Vicki's last challenge with the team as she'll be taking care of family needs.  I wish you the very best Vicki!

A Cup of Winter Warmth

Hello friends, are you keeping warm this winter?  If you're looking for some inspiration to help in that category, The Card Concept has a new challenge and a  wonderfully warm image to inspire you with.
My card uses Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Chocolate die set along with a sugar cookie from PTI.  The chocolate bar is my own make, using a small rectangle die from HoneyBee Stamps and the "sweet" stamp from My Time To Craft.

My defined style for this challenge is Clean & Layered.  I was inspired by the bold red cup with the white graphics.  The cinnamon snowflake is mimicked in the sugar cookie.  The chocolate bar is a bonus.  ;0)
I'll also be adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Something New.

Celebrate with Cupcakes ~ Double D Challenge

Good morning friends.  Today's card is for a new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenge blog where they're celebrating their 5th anniversary.  What better way to celebrate, than with cupcakes!!

Do you have supplies that have been tucked away and neglected for years?  Well, one item in my stash is acetate.  Yes, I use it for shaker cards but it's been a long time since I've made a shaker card so I thought I could use it to make a window card.

The cupcake stamp is also an older set from MFT, but cupcakes are timeless.  In fact, all the supplies I used on this card are older supplies that needed some love and attention.

Here's your inspiration:

I hope you'll join in on the festivities for the 5th Anniversary for Double D Challenge.

Wise Old Owl ~ DRU

Happy New Year!  Here's to a new year filled with possibilities and great things!  Anything's got to be better than 2020, right?

I've got a rather handsome wise old owl card for you today to kick off the new year of challenges over at Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  They're making it super simple to enter this year as every challenge is now "Anything Goes".
When I first saw this Impression Obsession Owl I just knew I had to bring him home with me.  I think it was the look in his eyes.....

He looks a bit bewildered to me but that what gives him his charm.  The Birch Tree Circle, which is also from Impression Obsession gives him the perfect resting spot.  He's holding an Impression Obsession Patchwork Gift that tucks nicely under his wings.

How smart that you can tuck anything under his wings.  I can see hearts for Valentine's Day, candy canes for Christmas, even eggs for Easter!

I cut two owls out when I was playing and I had a scrap of the birch tree design paper left over, so I had to make another card.

I hope you'll join in on the fun over at the DRU Challenge blog.  YOU could be our next winner!
