12 Kits of Occasion ~ November

Good morning ~  It's that time once again for the big reveal of the 12 Kits of Occasion cards for the month of November.  This month our hostess was Jessica Davis and I must say that Jessica totally outdid herself with this adorable kit just filled to the brim with Christmas goodness.

All of the images and beautiful papers were new to me.  I really enjoyed coloring up these cute images and playing with her adorable kit.  Thanks Jessica!

Now on to my cards:
These little fairies and tree house are so darling!  I colored them all up with copics and gave them a healthy dose of WOS.

Jessica included this pretty ribbon, felt snowflake and buttons.  This card that looks like a gift just seemed like the perfect way to use those elements together.

Wanna talk about cute???  These little bears decorating this Christmas tree.  So, so CUTE!

More cuteness with these sweet images!  Check out that little mouse holding a candy cane!

I wish I'd had more time to make more cards but I know that I'll be inspired by my team mates and will want to CASE them all.

You can find the complete list of products Jessica sent and see how my team mates used Jessica's sweet kit over at the 12 Kits of Occasion blog.

PTI's November Blog Hop ~ Give Thanks

Hello ~  I'm playing along with PTI's November Blog Hop.  This is the inspiration photo:

And this is my card:
I was inspired by the plaid napkin on the plate and created my own plaid using a piece of Fine Linen ChickenScratch paper and adding my own colored lines using Plaid Builder.  The colors of the the bird and flowers are seen on the chair wrap.  The bird, flowers and leaves are from the Give Love stamp set.  I'm in love with this set!    The pumpkin and sentiment from Autumn Pumpkins are both embossed in gold.

You can find all the details and join in on the fun HERE.

Baskets of Holly

Good morning friends!  Christmas season is upon us and I've got an easy project for adding to your Christmas card stash.

Here's a snapshot of the products I used today:

Here's what I did:
I started by cutting the Hero Arts Layered Holly leaves out of 65# Limeade Pop Tones cardstock. This is the perfect weight for die cutting and layering as it doesn't add too much bulk so your Christmas cards can be easily mailed.  I stamped each of the images using coordinating inks.

I used a stitched edge die to cut a piece of 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and a piece of 65# Wild Cherry Pop Tones and adhered the two using Score-Tape.

I found this fabulous basket weave design paper from Authentique "Cheerful" and it made me think of a pretty lined basket filled with fresh holly.

I assembled the cards using Tombow Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and added some Glossy Acdents and True Red Silk Microfine Glitter to the berries for added texture and interest.

The sentiments are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly set.

Limeade and Wild Cherry is such a refreshing color combination for Christmas.
Why don't you give it a try!
You'll find all of the RedGreen and White cardstocks on sale all month long at CutCardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Deer In The Woods ~ Pop Up Card

Good morning friends~  Elizabeth Craft Designs is starting a new challenge today with POP-UP CARDS.

Here's the front of the card:
I used papers from Moda Scrap Christmas Holidays.  What a stunning line of paper in this pack!  I added a reindeer from the beautiful Reindeer die set and heat embossed a sentiment from Holiday Cheer in silver.  I added some black Prills to the centers of the flowers and a sprinkling of pretty green Prills for interest and texture.

The inside of the card went together so easily using General Pop-Ups dies.  Every die cut shape you see on this card is from the Reindeer die set!

I heat embossed the fir trees in silver as well to add a bit of shine to the winter scene.  The snow drift is cut from woodgrain cardstock.  I love the look!

Be sure to visit the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog to see the beautiful creations from my talented team members.  Don't worry, you don't have to make a pop-up card for this challenge.  All you have to do is leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog for a chance to win.  But trust me when I say that making pop-up cards are easier than you might think.

Elizabeth Craft Designs is giving away three $20 gift certificates so what do you have to lose?  I challenge you to put the General Pop-Ups Dies in your cart.  You'll be so glad you did!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Three Tags for 12 Tags of Christmas

Hello friends~ It feels good to be getting creative with paper, stamps and dies again.  I've got some tags that I made for Loll's 12 Tags of Christmas.  It's almost over so I'm glad I found time to play along.

Day 8 is inspired by Loll's "tweet" tag found here.
I started by creating my own stencil by cutting the Snowfall Reverse Cut Die from Frantic Stamper out of a piece of acetate.  Then I added some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the embossing paste before stenciling the snowflakes onto the background of the tag which was cut using MFT's Stitched Tag Stax.  The images from "For The Birds" by Sweet N' Sassy Stamps are stamped and colored with Copics.  The bells and holly images are from Avery Elle's "Kitsch Christmas".

Day 7 is inspired by Loll's guest designer Karen found here.
I started by cutting two Main St. Pinpoint Tags from Poppystamps in two graduating sizes.  The woodgrain patterned paper is from ECD Wood Effect from Moda Scrap.  The double cut word JOY is from PTI's Holiday Double Cuts.  The top layer is cut from silver cardstock and mounted on top of a strip of silver glitter paper.  The snowflakes are cut from white cardstock on which two of them were covered in Teal Silk Microfine Glitter from ECD.

Day 6 is inspired by my dear friend Marcia as she was Loll's guest designer for that day.  You can find her darling tag here.
I pretty much CASE-d Marcia's tag, changing it up just a little bit using what I had.  I cut a tag using PTI's Tag Sale #3 out of aqua mist cardstock and stamped some snowflakes from random sets in aqua mist ink.  I then cut another tag out of white cardstock and cut the center out using the Wildwood Collage die from Memory Box.  I added some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the snowy edge at the bottom and throughout the trees.  I cut the tree using Impression Obsession Fir Trees and went around the edges using a silver paint pen.  The deer is cut using Impression Obsession Small Deer.  He is colored with a copic and then edged with a bit of distress ink.  The tiny tag was stamped using Hero Arts Color Layering Snowy Tree.

You can find all the details of Loll's challenge here.

I'll be adding one of these tags to the following challenges:
Dies R Us ~ Snow
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Furry Friends
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Super-Sized Snow Globe

Hello friends ~ I've got a super sized Snow Globe card for you today using dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I started by cutting snow drifts using a die from the Reindeer die set and adding some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the top edge using a glue pen.

I repeated the process on the church die from the Snowglobe Scene die set.

I cut a partial circle using a scrap of printed paper and a die from the Stitched Circles.  I didn't worry about it not being complete as the bottom is covered by the snow drifts.

I cut a handful of houses out of different colored scraps of cardstock and backed the windows and doors using yellow cardstock.

The trees and snowflakes are all cut from the Snowglobe Scene die set.  The sentiment is from Holiday Cheer Stamps.

You can find all these fun products and more at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

A New Look and Heartfelt Thanks

Hello blogging friends~  I know I've been absent for a while and I haven't been around to comment much either.  It's been difficult trying to get back into the rythm of life after losing my dad but God is good, gracious and loving in all He does and I'm thankful to have such a wonderful support group of friends and family that have lifted me up in prayer.  To everyone who prayed, left comments and sent cards, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Each loving gesture brought a smile to my face and more grateful thanks to my heart.
Through the last week or so, dear sweet Loll Thompson reached out to me as well, as I had been wanting her help to make my blog be a reflection of me; and she did just that.  It was such a positive experience working with her and I think she captured my style perfectly with this new blog design.  Thank you Loll for this amazing  new blog design!  I just love it and have so enjoyed working with you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

We Love YOU ~ Dawn McVey!

Hello friends~  I didn't want to miss out on this opportunity to honor PTI's most optimistic designer Dawn McVey.
For those of you who are fans of PaperTrey Ink like me, you know that Dawn has struggled with health issues for the last few years.  She is such a delight to everyone, through her blog and Instagram.  She's always a shining light to others through her faith, sunny attitude and her incredible creative style.  She just underwent a rare small intestine transplant and is on the long road to recovery.
In honor of Dawn, PTI is hosting a week long blog hop using her stamp sets, to make cards of love and encouragement to be sent to her while she is in recovery.
The sets I used for  my card are Holiday Greens, Spruce & Sprigs, Peaceful Pinecones and the sentiment is from A Cheerful Heart.

I do hope you'll take the time to visit Nichole's blog for all the details and join in on sending some love to Dawn.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit
