12 Kits of Occasion ~ September

Hello ~ Can you believe the end of September is here already??  I love fall, but I'm not excited about all the cold and snow that comes after it and this season is flying by way to quickly.

This month we're keeping summer alive with a little help from Kim Heggins.  Her kit theme is "Under And Over the Sea" and all the images were new to me.
So much fun coloring this little sunbathing beauty from MFT!  I wish I could be soaking up the sun today too!! (I'm also adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge)

These little critters from Otterly Awesome are so stinkin' cute!  I was inspired by a card made by my dear friend Kara but she had a frog floating down the river.
I created a slider card for them so they could float lazily down the river together.

I'm adding this card to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

It wouldn't be right to have a kit called "Under And Over the Sea" without a beautiful mermaid, right?

This one has a heavy dose of Wink of Stella on her tail fins.  A heavy dose because my WOS pen leaked all over her!  Thankfully it stayed within the lines and I was able to spread it out fairly evenly.

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion Blog to see how my talented teamies were inspired to use Kim's darling kit.  She's also having a guest designer this month.  Joyce Merberg is a past 12 kits designer and is incredibly gifted when it comes to creating beautiful CAS cards so you must be sure to visit her blog as well.  You can find links to all the designers here.  Thanks Kim for a darling kit!!

Packaging with Printed Papers ~ PTI Make-It Monday

Good morning crafty friends ~ It's been a while since I've been able to play along with PTI's Make-It Monday challenge and I'm glad for the opportunity to spend some much needed time in my craft room doing what I love.

Melissa was up this week with an idea to make treat packaging using printed papers.  Please forgive the horrible photography skills here.  I've been struggling to get good pictures with poor lighting and the fact that I only have my Ipad for taking pictures.  For some reason when my pictures transfer to my computer, they look all washed out and faded so then I have to try to adjust the colors to make them look as close to the real thing as possible.  Anyhow... back to the project.... ooh, butterfly!!!

I used one of the dies from the Post & Parcel kit to make my little treat bag using printed paper from Vintage Linens.

I used the Seasonal Borders: Winter to prettify my package.

You can find all the details of the challenge and join in on the fun here.

Darnell's Twofer Challenge

Good morning friends ~  I'm playing along with Darnell's Twofer Card Challenge using the prompt "Leaves"

I used a die from Gina Marie Designs that my dear friend Marcia gave me to make a birthday card and a Thanksgiving card.

It has a wonderful stained glass pattern.  I did some distress ink blending on the background, spritzed it with water and splatted it with ink.  The Give Thanks die is from Impression Obsession and it's cut from shiny gold cardstock.

I went CAS with the next card.  I used a piece of watercolor paper with brushos pigment powders for the background of the leaf and heat embossed the sentiment using copper embossing powder.

You can find all the details of the challenge and join in on the fun here.

What's Your Number?

Dies R Us Challenge Blog is starting a new challenge this week and the theme is:  What's Your Number?
(Use a Number on your project)

I found this great  Numbers embossing folder from Carabelle at DRU and paired it with a sweet Elizabeth Craft Designs Small Cupcake.  I lightly sponged some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink onto the cupcake for added definition.

I layered the cupcake onto a couple of stacked Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Circles.
This makes a great masculine style card.

Joining this challenge is easy!  All you need to do to qualify for the prize is use at least one metal die on your project.
Pop by the Dies R Us Challenge blog and join in on the fun!  You could be the winner of a $25 gift card.

Merry Mug Tags ~ PTI Create Along With Us

Hi!  Popping in real quick to share some tags I made for PTI's Create Along With Us.

I was inspired by Dawns sweet card and her famous color combo
Dawn_McVey_Merry_Mug_1

and Heather's tags:

Lawn Fawn Woodland Animals Pop-Up Box Card

Good morning friends.  It's my turn to post for TupleoDesignsLLC and I've got a card featuring some wonderful Lawn Fawn products found in the store.

The Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop Up Die makes the perfect setting for the little woodland critters from Lawn Fawn Into The Woods.

I colored all the little critters using copics.

I added some grassy knolls using Lawn Fawns Grassy Edgers dies and some tiny butterflies.

The great thing about the Box Card Pop-Up die is that it folds completely flat and fits perfectly inside a regular A2 size envelope for easy mailing.  When the recipient opens it, they're wowed by the dimention and pop up design.

This box is perfect for any occasion.

I hope you're inspired by todays project.
