Fruit Punch Shaker Card ~ Double D Challenge

I'm thrilled to be joining the Double D Challenge team this year!  Darlene and Diane are incredible design team leaders on their own but together, they make a marvelous team.  They're kind, encouraging and always inspiring.

Let's celebrate the new year with a toast of "Fruit Punch" to all the hopes and possibilities that the new year brings.  As a bonus, they want to see you use those poor neglected punches you have hiding somewhere in your craft room.

I wanted to create a shaker card using some watermelon colored sequins that I've had sitting in my stash for a while now.  The sequins and shaker Mason jar was the perfect jumping point for this card.  I used a Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop for the base and the tiny flower is the "punch" portion of this card.

The watermelon slices are from Spellbinders Die D-Lites Fruit Salad.  I also added a little sprig of greens using one of the dies from their Large Die of the Month Kit.

The "hello" sentiment is stamped and die cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Just Because Sentiments.

Here is the prize that you could win:

I hope you'll join the fun and play along at the Double D Challenges.

Thanks for stopping by!

Winterberry Wishes and a WINNER! ~ TupeloDesignsLLC

Hello friends~  I'm here with another post for TupeloDesignsLLC but before I show you my cards I want to announce the winner of the giveaway.  Drumroll please....

And the winner is PATTI
Congratulations to you!  I'll be in contact with you soon so you can choose which Vintage Inspired Shadow Box you'd like me to send to you.  Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to comment.  I wish I could send something to all of you but since I can't, I can give you all of my most heartfelt wishes for a very blessed Christmas season.  May it be filled with much love, laughter and good cheer!

Now on to my projects.

Sometimes I find myself short on time, as is the case almost every Christmas when I find I'm falling short on Christmas cards to send to friends and family who live far away.
Tupelo Designs has a wide range of pre-printed die cuts including these that I used today from My Mind's Eyes Winterberry Collection.

I fell in love with the rich earth tones of these die cuts and made lots and lots of cards that I'll share with you today.  Just look at this gorgeous deer!

Before I made the cards, I added coordinating Stickles to each of the dies in the package.

I also added enamel dots to many of the cards to add detail and interest.

There are some frames included in the package that allow for framing beautiful images like the card above or creating shaker cards like this one:

All of these cards came together so quick and easy.  I was able to create nine cards in one afternoon, which is so good since I'm woefully behind on Christmas cards this year.

I used papers from Authentique's Alpine Collection as well as papers I had in my stash that coordinated well together with the die cuts.

I hope you're inspired by todays project.

Christams Star Shaker Card

Hello everyone.  Today starts a new challenge over at Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is  "You're A Star"!  You must use a star somewhere on your project.
I'm thinking ahead and made a Christmas card so now I can officially say I started making my Christmas cards for this year.  YAY me!  I created a flat shaker element for my card using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Stars.

You can see that this card is reasonably flat for mailing.  I opted to use Glue Lines from Glue Dots instead of foam tape, filling the inside of the pocket with clear seed beads.  This makes a mail friendly shaker card.

Products I used were:
Lawn Fawn Large Cross Stitched Rectangles
Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Accessories
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Stars
Authentique 6x6 Believe Paper Pad
Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera

Pop by the Dies R Us Challenge blog and join in on the fun!  You could be the winner of a $10 gift card.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Hello Cutie ~ TupeloDesignsLLC

Hello creative friends~
I'm up today with a shaker card for TupeloDesignsLLC using some sweet Lawn Fawn dies that I recieved recently.

I created the shaker box by cutting the ocean blue panel of cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese, Again die and adhering a piece of clear acetate over the back, creating a window.  In the background I cut the water using Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Border and added some Ocean Wave Accents.

I cut Lawn Fawn Palm Trees, which includes this funny little crab out of textured white cardstock and added color using Distress Inks in Candied Apple, Crushed Olive and Gathered Twigs.  I filled the window with several ocean colored sequins and seed beads and sealed it all us using Score-Tape.

The sentiment is stamped and die cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Sentiments 2 ~ Because.

I'll be adding this card to Patti's pity linky party @ Stationery Styles ~ That's not funny!
Patti, I hope this card brings a smile to you face.

I hope you're inspired by todays project.

Inspiring Shaker Card

Hello there.  Take the time to let someone know you're thinking of them by making and sending some snail mail.  Here's a sweet shaker card using Cut Cardstock Linen cardstock.

Here's a snapshot of products I used:

I started by die cutting the Bright White Linen cardstock using the Say It With Florals Die and then stamping the flowers around the framed opening using the coordinating Say It With Florals stamp set.  I wish you could see how wonderful the stamping looks on the textured linen.  I love the look!  Once I was done with the stamping, I adhered a piece of clear acetate to the back of the stamped frame using Score Tape Double Sided Adhesive.

I then cut 5 of the same dies out of the 160# White Cougar cardstock.  This is the perfect cardstock for creating shaker cards because it is thick and sturdy.  Because of it's thickness I had to run these through my machine twice but I got nice clean cuts each time.

I then layered the die cut panels together using Tomow Mono Liquid Glue.  Just look at that depth!

I heat embossed the sentiment in black onto the Aqua Basis Cardstock.
I then assembled the shaker card, adding sequins to the inside window and adhered the layered panel, using Score Tape Double Sided Adhesive around the edges and more Tombow Mono Liquid Glue around the detailed areas of the die cut.
Some pearl gems were added to the centers of the two die cut flowers to finish this card off.
I hope you'll check out the products I used in today's post and take advantage of this month's sale on all Classic Crest  and Linen Cardstock.  Don't forget to add coordinating Basis Envelopes to your shopping cart!

Peaceful Scene Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends~  It's with much sadness that I announce that I'll be stepping down from the Elizabeth Craft Designs design team.  It's been such a fun year working with ECD design team and I wanted to send a special thanks to Els & Joep, Joset and Frances for letting me be part of this amazing team for a whole year.  Life has just gotten crazy busy for me and it's taking me down a different path that doesn't allow as much time in my craft room as many of you who visit me may have noticed.
I thought the sentiment on this card was very fitting to let everyone at Elizabeth Craft Designs know how much I'll miss them.

I had a scrap of an ink blended background left over from a previous project that was just a little too small so I cut two snowdrifts using the snowdrift die from the Reindeer set and added Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the top edges and then adhered them to the background.

Using an A2 size piece of Christmas Holidays Paper Pack from Moda Scrap,  I cut one of the Stitched Stars out of the center, saving the cut star for a future project.

I adhered a piece of clear acetate to the back of the cut printed paper using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  This particular acetate has a protective blue film on both sides.  It really is clear once the blue film is removed as you'll see in the following pictures.

Using foam tape,  I made it into a shaker window by adding sequins and seed beads.
I cut one of the deer from the Reindeer set out of Kraft cardstock and added some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the outside edges and antlers.
I Stamped and die cut the sentiment from Sentiments 1 Celebration and Sentiments 1 Celebration Dies and mounted it to the window using foam tape.
You can find all these great products and more at Elizabeth Craft Designs

12 Kits of Occasion ~ September

Hello!  Hello!  Fall is definitely in the air here in Maine and Marybeth from Marybeth's Time For Paper  has put together a wonderfully festive kit for this months 12 Kits of Occasion.

Here's my cards:
Marybeth included these wonderful printed papers from PTI and this fun sentiment.  All I added was this darling little cup filled with a pumpkin spice latte from Darcie's Cookies and Cocoa.  It's actually a Christmas image but I covered the holly and berries with a couple of leaves that were in the kit and tried to make the peppermint sticks look like cinnamon sticks.  There's a heavy dose of Wink of Stella on the cinnamon sticks to sweeten them up a bit!
Next up is a shaker card.  Everything I used was included in Marybeth's kit.  Super cute!

Love this pumpkin cart from PTI. I'd love to have one sitting on my front porch to fill with the harvest of each season.

A pretty leaf image embossed on water color paper.  I used zigs to color it in and added a strip of gold, some paper from the kit and twine that was wrapped around the kit when it arrived.  Marybeth sure knows how to make a presentation!

Again, everything here was included in the kit.  I cut the scalloped edge out of the orange cardstock she sent.

These lovely leaves were colored using distress inks.  The rake was left over from a project last year.  I finally found a use for it!  I added some rain drops to finish it off.

I absolutely loved these images from Purple Onion Marybeth sent.  I colored them up using Copics and created a slider for these little fella's to ride their bike on.

  The sentiments are computer generated.

I added some Glossy Accents to the little frog to make him look slimy and gave texture to the little fox and scenery using a scrap of towel soaked with Copic blender.

What a fun, fun kit this was to work with!  Thanks so much Marybeth!  I'll enjoy using up the leftovers after I see all my friends cards.  I know I'll want to CASE them all!

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how the other gals were inspired by Marybeth's kit.

I had posted yesterday that our daughter and son-in-law are expecting their first baby in May 2018!  Our first grandchild!!!  I'm over the moon with excitement and joy!

I've been on cloud 9 since Thursday night.  Life is such a joyful ride!

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Darnell's NBUS Challenge ~
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters ~ Use Your Dies
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit
