CASE-ing Kay in Time Out

I adore Kay Miller's style and was eager to try CASE-ing her card for the Time Out Challenge #56.

Isn't her card dreamy?? She's the queen of layers with a CAS design.

Here's my card:

I started by stamping the ink spots using MFT's Distressed Patterns to the background of my white card stock card base and adding MFT's Leaf Filled Flourish that I cut out of vellum. The scalloped frame is from Impression Obsession All In One Square Frames. I added flowers from WPlus9's Freehand Florals and finished it off with a tag stamped with a sentiment from PTI's Flower Fusion #1. I added some white sequins just like Kay did on hers.

Birthday Cupcake

I'm playing along with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #359 this week!

Here's my card:

I started by rubbing a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink into the center of my white card stock front and then added PTI's Pretty Frame. I cut the PTI "Happy" One Liners banner out of white and backed each letter with some brightly colored scraps. The word "birthday" is from Simon Says Stamp "Birthday Celebration".

I die cut the cupcake out of colored card stock using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Cupcakes". I stamped a few stars and scattered some sequins to finish this card off.

PTI ~ Make-It Monday ~ Ink Blending through Die Cut Masks

Lizzie Jones is at bat this week at PTI showing us about ink blending through die cut masks.

What perfect timing as I had to make this card as a special request for someone's 90th birthday.

I used balloons from both Birthday Style and Heart 2 Heart #2. I also added some dots from Just Desserts before removing the mask. See those candy dots? The biggest one hides a smudge where I got some black ink. I always seem to mess up my card at the very end. Grrrrr...... Anyway, I'm glad it worked out. 😀

Vintage Bulbs and Seeds

Happy Monday! I hope all you mom's had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday.

This week's challenge over at Double D Challenges is Mother's Day - Happy Birthday with this inspiration photo:

It's been a long time since I've created using printable images so I went searching through my vintage images and found this pretty Bulbs and Seeds image that went perfectly with the inspiration photo.

I used a background paper from Graphic 45 on a Kraft card base and added a strip of spring green card stock and the printed image. I cut a couple of Spellbinders Corner Sprigs and cut and stamped the tulip from PTI's Tulip Time. Tied it all up with a piece of twine to finish it off.

Ticket To Father's Day

Hello paper crafting friends! I'm up today at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and I have a Father's Day card to share with you, since Father's Day is just around the corner.

I started by cutting the Impression Obsession Ornate Oval Frame three times out of white card stock. I rubbed some Tim Holtz Distress Ink over the top layers and layered the frame up using different layers, to give it dimension. This die cuts all the layers for this frame in one pass so it's quick and easy to assemble. And you can choose which parts of the frame you want to use, according to your project. It can be different every time!

I took the oval center of the frame and rubbed on some Distress Inks in Peacock Feather and Peeled Paint to create the sky and ground. The fabulous Train Die is from Frantic Stamper. Just look at the amazing detail on this die!

I layered the back end of the train behind the frame so that it looks like the train is coming right out of the frame.

The ticket is from PTI's Just The Ticket and I thought this would make a great sentiment piece.

This was all layered onto two Memory Box stitched rectangles. One cut using an old map and the other in black to frame it.

QUICK DESIGN TIP: Try using papers that aren't normally made for crafting on your projects, such as old maps, book pages, pattern pieces and old greeting cards. This adds interest and is a great way to recycle!
