PTI ~ January Blog Hop

This months inspiration photo for the PTI Blog Hop was a challenge for me. I'm not a very graphic person and the colors challenged me as well. Here's the inspiration photo:

I'm not very good at thinking outside of the box either. With that said, I made two cards because I really couldn't tell what colors would work well for this. Here's my first card:

I picked up on the white washed wood behind some of the orange images and made this card using Rosie Posie. The colors I used were Hawaiian Shores and Ocean Tide for the leaves and Orange Zest and Canyon clay for the flowers.

Then I thought the colors weren't quite right so I went with this card, using a more graphic design and Happiness In Bloom. I changed the blues to Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening.

Be sure to stop by Nichole's blog to join in on the fun! Have fun along the hop!
Blessings~ Birgit

I think both of these turned out fabulous Birgit! I especially love how you used your blues on the second card...that is so cool looking, and then your bright and pretty flowers on top of it! Well done my friend!! :0)

Birgit, your take on the inspiration photo is wonderful! My favorite is the one with the whitewash! But I like how you used those pointy things in the second card too.

I really like both of these, Birgit. I love these colours together! Can I say, given my obsession with anything woodgrain, that the first one is my favourite? :)

The second card definitely has a more graphic feel, but I adore the aqua & orange together on the first card!

Both cards are lovely Birgit. I am not a graphic person either, so what I see, is what you get.

Birigit, these are both so pretty! I struggled with this challenge so much, but you certainly overcame your struggles with it much better than I! :)

Both beauties! Really loving the ombre of the 2nd card, with the light to darker blue. And Rosie Posie in orange is gorgeous!
