PTI ~ Make-It Monday ~ Masculine Florals

Good morning friends~  Betsy had a great video this week about using floral images to make masculine cards.  What a clever idea since most stampers have lots of florals in our stash.

Here's my card.  I'm not completely thrilled with it but I'm posting it anyway.  A girl will do anything to try to win a free prize, right?

I stamped some leaf and sprig images from First Fruits (a super old set but still a favorite) using soft stone and saffron spice inks on the background of the card base and then added flowers and leaves from Day Dreamer and Happiness In Bloom.  The sentiment from Birthday Basics is heat embossed in black and a string of twine finishes it off.

You can find Betsy's video here to join in on the fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Birgit, your color selection definitely makes this more on the masculine side. I love the design and how the flowers peek out from behind the diagonal strip. And I had to laugh about your comment - I've also posted some cards I haven't been too happy with because I want to win!

Why don't you like this! I love it. So striking with those beautiful fall colors and the diagonal strip. You are not alone in posting to win! I have put up some cards I didn't love, but hey--I made it, I'm going to try to get a prize. Good luck to you in the draw this week.

What is not to like?!!! I love this card Birgit! Your colors are fabulous (and once again I am kicking myself for not getting the Saffron Spice ink & cs last month!!!) and a perfect blend of flowers that look more masculine in those colors. And I love your layout too! Fantastic card my friend!! :0)

I think your card is lovely. For this masculine look I think it's best to hide some of the blooms like you did. I love the color combo you came up with!

Great masculine card and design. I really like it. I just have a hard time using flowers on a masculine card. Heck, I just have a hard time making masculine cards. lol.

Wonderful card for anyone, Birgit. The colors are just right for a masculine card and I like the soft colors in the background.

Don't be so hard on yourself! The card is lovely in every way. Beautiful, strong masculine colors, love the angle, and the sets you used. I know we're the hardest on ourselves, but I think your card's striking! One more thing, love the positioning of each flower and leaf. Works together perfectly!
