Good morning ~ It's the first Tuesday of the month so that means it's time for a new challenge over at Elizabeth Craft Designs.
This month the challenge is Glittery Backgrounds - add glitter in some way when creating a background for your card or project this month.
I created this pretty glittery plaid background using this technique from Els, found on Youtube and ECD Silk Microfine Glitter.
If you haven't tried Silk Microfine Glitter yet, you really must! It is as smooth as silk, seriously and there are 63 colors to choose from!
I created the plaid using Clear Double Sided Adhesive in three sizes and Silk Microfine Glitter in Vintage Pink, Spring Peridot, Sea Glass and Teal.
I cut Joset's Small Cupcake out of White Soft Finish Cardstock and colored the pieces using Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I added some clear embossing powder over the brown layer to look like chocolate icing because everything is better with chocolate!
I also cut two of the little sprigs from Garden Notes Ivy Vine out of Celadon Soft Finish Cardstock and added a bit more color using Crushed Olive Distress Ink.
I cut the largest Dotted Scallop Rectangle and a Scalloped Heart out of white card stock and assembled my card.
There's so much glittery goodness on this card and this type of background can be used in endless color palettes. I think the colors of fall would be beautiful!
Elizabeth Craft Designs is giving away 3 1/2 oz containers of Silk Microfine Glitter in the colors of your choice to 3 winners.
To enter simply leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Challenge post and tell us "What is your favorite technique using Silk Microfine Glitter”
We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing.
Be sure to visit the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog for more sparkly inspiration and then join in on the fun!
The winners will be announced on Friday, April 7 on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit
