12 Kits of Occasion ~ August

Where did the summer go?  August is just coming to an end and it's already felt like fall here on the east coast, waking up to 40 degree mornings.  I'm so glad I had Michelle Leone's kit for 12 Kits of Occasion to keep me warm in my craft room.  She called it "End of Summer Soiree" and what a perfect ode to summer it was!

Michelle has a great eye for color, patterns and style.  Her style is clean and classy.  I loved all the red, green and blue jewel tones paired with touches of gold throughout her kit.  These cards came together so easily.  Thanks Michelle for an amazing kit this month!
This is the first card I made using the kit and it's also my favorite!  Just look at those gorgeous papers, touched with gold accents, the large blooms in jewel tone colors.  GAH!  There always seems to be at least one printed paper in every kit that I want to hoard, and this is the one.  I wish I had a stack of it!

Michelle included these fun airplanes complete with banners to create some great masculine style birthday cards, which I'm always in need of.

More beautiful papers and gold accented elements Michelle included in her kit.  The "Hello" die is from Honey Bee Stamps.

I had been playing around with Ken Oliver Microburst Powders and had this piece sitting on my table when Michelle's kit arrived.  The die cut panel she sent was perfect over the top.  I simply added the pierced and scalloped ovals from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The large die cut sentiment was included in the kit.

Finally, more of the beautiful papers and this wonderful cake die.  I simply added a Happy Birthday circle die.

I hope you enjoyed todays cards using this months 12 Kits of Occasion.  Be sure to visit my talented teamies over at the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how they were inspired to use Michelle's kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

WOW....they are all FABULOUS Birgit! I totally agree with you about the DSP you used in your 1st card...it was my favorite too and I wished I had a whole stack of it too!! Your little airplane cards turned out SO cute and I love, LOVE the card you did with the color burst background! I specifically did not use that die cut floral panel until I saw what everyone else did with it and I just love how it looks with ALL that BEAUTIFUL color!! Wonderful, wonderful cards my friend!!! :0)

I'm in agreement with you, I'd love a stack of that floral paper! It's so beautiful paired with your gold doily and the perfectly placed flowers! Such a great idea to create an aperture of the sky for your airplane, and "you rock!" is another great idea for any birthday boy! You added wonderful elements like the golden "hello" - it goes so well with those beautiful gold accents in the floral paper, and the round happy birthday die cut to follow the circle with your cake! Oh my, Birgit, saving the most striking for last, I must ooh and ahh over your microburst background underneath the white florals and oval die cuts - that will certainly make anyone "have a nice day"! So many clever and artistic ideas you used with this great kit!

Wow, these are all so awesome! Love the first design with the gold doily and wonderful additions of die cut blooms--wonderful sentiment too! Your masculine designs are fabulous, and cute. The window of sky and "You Rock" are perfect additions. One of my favorites is the floral die cut with your amazing colored background. Using the large sentiment there was a great idea too!

Great set, I always love the banners on the end of planes and in this case helicopters too, they are always so neat! The background you had done ahead of time was perfect for your sentiment :)
