Hello to all you creative crafters!
Over
the years, I've amassed a small collection of vintage ornaments in
their original boxes that I enjoy putting out at Christmas time.
I had this Coby box but no ornaments to put inside, so I decided to make a little winter vignette like some that I've seen on Pinterest. I started by removing the ripped cellophane that went over the window, covering the inside of the box with a piece of snowflake scrapbook paper and then carefully attaching tiny battery operated fairy lights around the inside edge of the box using hot glue.
I added white batting to the bottom of the box and a healthy dose of German Glass Glitter. I glued in some snow capped trees and this vintage deer that I think is from the 60's. You know, the old plastic ones that were the rage back then?
I attached this large red & gold bow to the top corner of the box to finish it off. I was happy to see that the colors of the bow matched the graphic colors on the box. This sweet winter scene casts a warm glow when the lights are turned on and this was such an easy and fun project to make.
I'll be entering this project into the following challenges:

Birgit, you always bring me right back to my childhood when your vintage art comes out to play! I wish I had every single box of my parents' ornaments - I'd happily bring them to you!
Now. You'll pardon me as I have to go back for second helpings of this gorgeousness!

Oh how precious, what a glorious creation! You are The Queen of Vintage for sure! Isn't that beautiful and makes for a wonderful Holiday decoration....love it! And then I zoomed in on your sweet little babies--even more precious! This is a great shelf to display people and things you love! Merry Merry!
Aren't you the clever one, I love your collection and this box is the perfect touch to go with them with your wonderful winter forest scene, I like how you have even put lights inside, when all the other lights are off and it has a soft glow I bet it is so pretty!
Birgit, this is gorgeous! I love seeing a wonderful vintage box repurposed so beautifully. Thanks so much for sharing with us over at CRAFT Challenge!
Amazing creation. I never thought about using boxes like this. Thanks for joining the challenge at Polkadoodles.
You are way too clever, Birgit! How beautiful this is and very nostalgic for me. I have truly vintage ornaments that have been in my family for many years and I treasure them. They no longer go on the tree, but I love to bring them out in their boxes every year. Thank you for sharing this treasure you created.
