Life Update and a Vintage Card

Hello friends~  I've been absent from blogging and commenting for a few weeks, but there's a good reason and a not so good reason.  Always start with the good.
My daughter gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl on Jan. 15th.
Please meet tiny Isobelle.  She weighted 5 pounds 1 oz and she is pure delight to our family.

Everyone is settling in nicely at home.  Mr. "C" is completely smitten by tiny Isobelle, while little "L" doesn't quite understand why this new tiny person is now in his mama's arms.  You see, little "L" and tiny "I" are less than a year apart so my daughter basically has what they call "Irish Twins".  She'll have her hands full for a while, so I've given up all my design team positions so I can be ready to give her a hand whenever she calls.

After the dust settled and life started getting back to normal, I suddenly found myself locked out of my own computer for days, so I still couldn't blog or comment.  In fact, I couldn't access my computer at all.  GAH!  Technology!!  Anyway, after some wise advice from a good friend, I was able to get back online, and there you go!

I'm grateful to be back online because I didn't want to miss the challenge going on over at Double D Challenges.  The theme is "vintage / shabby chic" and as you know, that's one of my favorite styles.

I pulled out a very sweet, retro collection called "My Deer Friend" from Memory Place, and let the paper do all the hard work.  I simply added a scalloped die cut trim and stamped the sentiment onto a Spellbinders Label die, and mounted a floral die over the top corner.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Double D Challenges ~ Vintage / Shabby
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

We're getting more snow today, so I'm happy to be tucked in at home and will hopefully find more time to spend in the craft room.

Thanks for stopping by!

Awwwwww...tiny "I" is absolutely precious Birgit and the family picture couldn't be any cuter either!! I think those photos have stolen the show, even though your card is wonderful...you always have had such a magic touch with vintage my friend! Glad the computer woes are behind you and you can now spend some time in the craft room! Sorry to hear about the snow though...we're actually starting to get rid of a bit of it now. OMGoodness such a perfect little precious package--look at her tiny toes peeking through lol What a beautiful family--despite her bigger brother's questionable looks lol Those boys are getting big! I would drop everything too (I kind of did 8 years ago when Penny was born--such JOY!). Ha I knew we'd get you back over to DD in some way! :) Yes, a beautiful vintage card! It's a dear/deer! Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Double D! And more importantly thanks for sharing your wonderful family with us! xoxo

Nothing could be more precious or perfect then those darling grands of yours, OMG, look how cute they all are, a wonderful reason to step down from your DT duties, you will never regret it! Right after I retired and had all these plans of things I wanted to do I took on a fulltime job of watching my daughters 4 children 5 days a week, the youngest was 18 months, she is 20 today!! I absolutely loved every single minute of it, a time in my life I will never forget! Your vintage card is super sweet too, so happy you joined us at Double D, we miss you!!

Birgit, I can hardly pull my eyes away from dear lsobelle and her beautiful family. I can see the love and joy, and I feel for little "L's" confusion and doubt. I'm sure he'll come around, but he's just a baby himself. Your daughter sure has her hands full! They're all lucky to have you in their lives. I love your sweet vintage card with critters and flowers, sigh... my favorites! It's an absolute charmer, just like your adorable group of grandkids. I'm glad you were able to get back into your computer, and especially glad you played along with your DD family in our vintage/shabby chic challenge. Hugs to all!

Birgit, a very big congratulations to your daughter and her family! Baby Isobelle is adorable. I can understand her next older brother’s confusion. He will catch on soon and certainly love her. They look so happy! Your card is very lovely too. That paper is gorgeous and you’ve done a good job creating around it. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We appreciate your participation!

The card is just precious, that is cute paper and pretty scallop to go with it! Glad you were able to get your computer up and running again too, I don't know what I would do without my hubby when it comes to computers.

I had to stop by and see your vintage card and so happy that I did! It is darling and what a beautiful trio of grand babies you have. Little L is so adorable as are the boys. Your daughter is most fortunate to have your helping hands, but I'm thankful you still have some time to create. Miss you at the DD.
