Saying Goodbye To Summer

I'm saying goodbye to summer with a beachy card that fits the Dies R Us Challenge perfectly ~ Summer Vacation.

I started by masking off a skyline and inked in the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  The water was then blended in using Faded Denim Distress Ink, and Ballet Blue and Blissful Blue from Stampin' Up.
I tore off a piece of kraft paper and randomly rubbed some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink all over it.  I then sprayed the kraft paper with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to give it a teensy bit of shimmer, like the sun glistening on the wet sand.  After attaching the kraft to the inked up base, I added some tiny dot waves using a gel pen.  I went over the waves with texture paste which I just pounced on with my finger.  I then added the Impression Obsession Beach Chair and Beach Umbrella and some IO Grass.  A piece of twine to finish it off.

I'll also be entering this card into the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Beautiful background.....love your white caps! Just a great place to plunk down with the summer tourist season over. Plenty of sunshiny warm days well into October....BUT don't tell anybody! :) Love your card and the vibe!

Oh no, I'm not ready to say goodbye to Summer although our weather definitely says Fall. What a lovely beach scene, Birgit.

Oh Birgit, this is a wonderful beach scene...I love the torn kraft and extra glitter along with the gathered twigs. Wow, your attention to all the details is perfect...oh, LOVE your waves in the ocean too! Maybe this could be a "bring on the summer" card, just so it feels like you are saying hello instead of goodbye!!

This is a nice way to end the summer by sitting by a beach and you captured the scene so well. I love the water and how you created the waves
