12 Kits of Occasion ~ August

Hello everyone.  Summer is slipping by quickly.  It already feels like fall here in Maine.  I enjoy the colors and crisp air of fall, but I'm already not looking forward to the snow and cold temperatures that follow.  The end of the month brings us to the group post for 12 Kits of Occasion.  This month was hosted by Marybeth of Marybeth's Time For Paper, with her kit titled "Simple Leaves".  Anyone who knows Marybeth, knows that she has an exquisite eye for CAS designs.  She's also one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people I know.  Here's a picture of the kit that she sent.   I just love the fresh color palette she used. It emulates Marybeth and her incredible style perfectly.

I made three cards this month because I've been spending a lot of time outside enjoying what's left of summer but I have plenty of leftovers to make more cards.  Here's my cards:
Marybeth sent two stamped panels using this falling leaves stamp.  She also included the large Altenew letters.  I simply added a couple of stamped sentiments to go along with it from PTI.

I colored this embossed sunflower panel using Copic markers.  I added distress ink to the outside edges and splattered Gathered Twigs DOX ink to add a bit of texture.

The "smile" die cut was leftover from a previous kit that I colored black and added black WOS to make it sparkle.

I'm adding this card to the Time Out Challenge for their current "Season" challenge.

This was another embossed panel that Marybeth included in her kit along with the printed paper strip down the side.  I added the sunflowers from Simon Says Stamps and the "Enjoy" die cut from the kit.

I hope you enjoyed today's post.   Please stop by the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how all my friends were inspired by Marybeth's kit.  Thanks so much Marybeth!  I enjoyed creating with your kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for your kind intro, if I ever feel down I will come and read this , lol! Thank you Birgit
You blew me away with your sunflower card, I've never seen that Poppystamps embossing folder look better that this card you created.( If you hurry you could add that to the Poppystamps challenge Heat wave) Love the hugs card too! I am happy you got to enjoy the outdoors at what must be such a beautiful time of year by you. We've been hot but enjoying our pool with family and one of daughters have been sharing their lake house and dock with family ...... such a blessing to be together and outside ! Take care dear friend.

Lovely job once again with the kit, pretty leaf panel and like how you paired the big hugs with it. I will have to say that the sunflower is my favorite of them, the way you colored that embossing folder is just out of this world gorgeous, love the splattering and then the shading all around it, just perfection! The last one looks great with the sunflowers resting against the embossing and like the touch of the patterned strip on the side!

Oh my goodness, yes! Your sunflower is exquisite! So beautiful in the vintaged edged setting. Love the other sunflower card too, beautiful and bold. Wish I had 10 of those leaves card panels. So easy and so striking with the super large letters! How 's the air in Maine? We're just about choked out here with the fires. Finally settling down. Take care, my friend!

Hi Birgit! You did an amazing job with this kit! I love how you colored the embossed sunflower! It's gorgeous and something I'd never attempt. The other stand out for me is how you added some sparkle and shine to each design, adding more color and sparkle to each card! Beautiful!

These are ever so lovely Birgit! Your colored sunflower is incredible! We're still in shorts and flip flops at 80 degrees here. I love fall, but am so NOT ready for snow!

Your loose sunflower is so beautifully coloured; looks like it's stending in the garden and could be an illustration! Thank you for joining us at TIME OUT!
