Beach Time ~ Double D Challenges

Let's go to the beach!  Oh, how I enjoy going to the ocean, sitting on the beach watching the waves ebb and flow.  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Beach Time"!

My mind goes in so many directions with a challenge like this, it's hard to decide which way to go.  Today I went tropical, using Elizabeth Craft Designs Palm Trees.

I started by making the background using PinkFresh Studio Layered Sunburst stencils and Papertrey Inks Ocean Background stamp set.  I tore the edges of a piece of kraft cardstock for the sand and added a trio of ocean treasures.

I added the Elizabeth Craft Designs Palm Trees, which includes this cozy hammock.  I'm imagining myself laying there right now sipping a fruity drink topped with a paper umbrella.

The sentiment is from Stampendous Ocean Wisdom, which I picked up at Hobby Lobby a few years back.

I hope you enjoyed today's post and I hope even more that you'll stop by the Double D Challenges blog to see more beachy inspiration from my talented teammates.  Then while you're there, you can join in on the fun!

Here's the inspiration board to help you get started:

Here's what you could win when you play along:
I'll also be adding this card to The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge, to create a seasonal landscape.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ain't that the truth!!! How lucky are we!?! This is a fun card, love the get away feel of it all....if I squint I am sure I can see a little fruity drink complete with an umbrella and straw right behind that Palm Tree lol Great stenciling! Love the Palm Trees and that cozy hammock, our favorite Aruba Beach looks just like that!

Yes, the beach is the very best for relaxing! That hammock is so inviting among the palms. Love the sunburst background and ocean waves. Lovely, serene and calling my name, for sure!

I want to go to the beach too Birgit!! I bet you don't have Palm trees in Maine, but you have the beautiful rocky shoreline that I remember from a childhood trip and my honeymoon! Either way, your ocean scene is truly beautiful, and with temps in the upper 90's and humid today, it really does look like the place to be! Awesome card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Yes, that sounds lovely, laying there sipping on a cool drink. The heat here is so hot I sure wish I was there. When ever I go to the beach I love the calm water and the cool breezes. Nature is amazing like your card.

A fabulous card Birgit, what a great scene you have created, I'm at the beach right now watching the waves crash in on Lake Huron, it has been a very windy day but I sure wish I had that hammock to relax on!! You should enter it at The Sisterhood of Crafters!!
