Catching Up with Friends and Crafts

Hello lovelies~  I've been having so much fun out here in sunny California with my son and daughter in law and taking care of my little "P".  Time is flying by and before I know it, I'll be hopping on a plane and flying back home to the east coast.  While I was out here, I had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with my dear friend Nancy Penir from Artful Notions.

I first "met" Nancy in 2012 when I participated in one of my first PTI challenges.  Nancy was one of the first people to comment on my new blog, way back when!
Two weeks ago, we spent a fun day together enjoying lunch and a bit of shopping.

Nancy is one of the sweetest ladies I've had the privilege to meet, for so many reasons.  We are alike in many ways and we connect like we've been old friends.  She was so kind as to send me an envelope the day after our luncheon, filled with crafty goodness, including these stencils from The Greetery.

The leaves and "thanks" die cuts were in the envelope as well.  I had  purchased these three DOX inks while I was out here and I thought they'd be fun to use with the stencils and die cuts that Nancy sent.

These beautiful Crocus dies, also from The Greetery, were tucked in the envelope as well.
I paired them with some die cuts from Simple Stories that I purchased soon after arriving.

Thank you so much Nancy for the crafty goodies and our afternoon together.  I had the best time spending time with you!!

We went out for brunch on Mother's day with Allison's parents and had a wonderful time.  Here's me with my son, his beautiful wife and our sweet little "P".

When I first arrived, Presley and I had a secret paint day.  You don't want to know how many times it took me to get two good prints of her wiggly feet, using craft paint.  Then I had to make sure that it was all washed off and no traces of paint left by the time her mama and daddy came home, lest they be wondering why she had pink feet.  Nancy kindly sent the alphabet stamps so I could finish this gift for Allison for Mother's Day.

A happy Mother's Day indeed!

And looks who's growing up while I'm away!  Our dear little "C" turned 8 months old without me.  I can't believe that he'll be almost 9 months old next time I see him again.

I'm so very thankful to have had this opportunity to spend so much time out here with my son and his family.  What a rare and treasured gift!
If you've made it to the end of this post, thanks for sticking with me through my ramblings.  Hope you have a great rest of your week.

Thanks for stopping by!

OH! I would love to meet you both FOR REALS one day, Birgit! Our friendships grow even while distance keeps us apart, don't they? Gorgeous photo of the two of you - and I'm so happy to see those little leaves on your card - I wonder if they were among those I sent to you all in one of my Kits? Even if they aren't, they made me smile!
Can we just talk about how adorable these babies are for a moment? You are so lucky to have special time with each of them, Birgit!

Oh Birgit I so enjoyed seeing your pictures of the baby and your family, how special to be out there for Mother's day and it looks like you had wonderful weather. So great to have met an online friend too. I like the colors you picked in Inks, they worked so lovely on the stenciled card.
The crocus are just gorgeous, how nice to have some new things to play with :) Enjoy the rest of your time out there!

What a treat it would be if all of us 12 Kits ladies could get together! Love this photo of you two! Also love the photos of you with your family and those precious babies. Thanks for sharing them with us, Birgit and thanks for sharing your pretty cards too!

Birgit your cards were amazing, and the 'sweet feet' plaque is a treasure! It must have taken you forever to print out the words so perfectly with those stamps. I have used them, and lost patience years ago! So happy they found a home with a patient talent like you! Your DIL, I'm sure had tears when she opened her gift, it truly is a keepsake. The pics are beautiful of the family. But the last one of Callum... oh my, he's ready for a tricycle! Had to show the picture to Ron, and you should have seen his smile. God willing, we meet that little dude someday. Happy to have spent 'catch up' time with you, wish we had taken more photos. Next time. I have a feeling Presley is going to draw you back again soon! Hugs!

Beautiful cards and 2 beautiful ladies. How fun that you got to meet up with Nancy.
I was just thinking, where are pictures of Presley and Callum?
I'm so happy I looked at this older post and found it filled with lovely family photos of Mother's Day and your two beautiful grandbabies. Callum is starting to catch up and looks so dashing in his sunglasses. Both babies are so precious. So happy for you to finally get your grandbabies.
