Butterflies and Flowers ~ Spring Is Here!

Good morning~  Just a quick post using some new to me stamps and dies from Concord & 9th.

I love the painted butterfly image in this Butterfly Beauty Bundle.  I stamped the butterflies onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock then did a bit of ink splattering.  I cut the panel using MFT's Wonky Stitched Rectangles.  The wings of the butterfly are actually 4 different dies but when you put them together you can overlay the body of the butterfly and make it look like it was one complete die.

The flowers in this Flourish Bundle make me think of a vintage table cloth.  So pretty, don't you think?  I love the details the multi step stamping adds in this set.  I used the same MFT's Wonky Stitched Rectangles to cut the stamped panel with.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Curtain Call ~ Flutter
AAA Cards ~ Bright & Beautiful
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Water Color Wash with PTI

Good morning friends~  I had a chance to create a card for this week's Make-It Monday with Laurie Schmidlin.  It was her first MIM video and she did an amazing job sharing her ideas on creating water colored backgrounds.
I need lots of help in this area, in fact, I don't even own any water color paints so I had to use re-inkers for my card.
After making this card, I finally broke down and ordered some Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor paints.  I can't wait for them to arrive!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Just Beachy!

On our recent trip out to California, one of the things on my bucket list was to visit the Pacific Ocean.  This card is inspired by the beautiful western coast line.  Good morning friends! I've got a card for you today on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog that's Just Beachy!

I started by finding a pretty beach scene online that I could print on my home printer and attached it to an A2 sized card front.

I cut the Impression Obsession Beach UmbrellaIO Beach Chairs and IO Flip Flops and assembled each one as necessary.

Next I cut these sweet Seaside Treasures from Memory Box out of white card stock and added color using Distress Inks.

I cut these Impression Obsession Sea Birds out of white card stock and added color in the same way and then assembled my card.

After the scene was completed, I heat embossed the sentiment in white.

The owners of the Dies R Us store were recently away on vacation as well and while they were gone, they had amazing daily sales, so you may find that lots of the dies I used today are currently out of stock.  Fear not!  They replenish their dies on a regular basis and with the click of a button you can ask them to send you an e-mail when the dies are back in stock.

Be sure to sign up for their newsletter while you're there because you don't want to miss out on their fabulous sales and their special order dies.

Here is a list of dies that I used that can be found at the Dies R Us store:

Impression Obsession - Dies - Beach Umbrella Impression Obsession - Dies - Beach Chairs Impression Obsession - Dies - Flip Flops
Memory Box - Dies - Seaside Treasures  Impression Obsession - Dies - Sea Birds

Painted Rose Card Set

Good morning friends~  I've got a quick post for you today with a set of cards that I made using Altenew's Painted Rose set.
This set creates a set of stunning cards that are both quick and easy.  The cards almost make themselves!
I stamped the images from Painted Rose onto linen cardstock to add a bit of texture to an otherwise flat card that's easy to pop in the mail.
The sentiment from the set is heat embossed using black embossing powder.

Altenew makes choosing colors for layered stamps so easy by offering up a number of different Color Cube combinations.  I turn to these mini cubes over and over again.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
The Paper Players ~ Tic Tac Toe using Pink, Leaves, Flowers
AAA Cards ~ Bright & Beautiful

Thanks for stopping by today!  Blessings~ Birgit

ECD May Design Team Challenge ~ Being Negative

Good morning ~  It's the first Tuesday of the month so that means it's time for a new Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team Challenge.  This month's theme is called "Being Negative".  When used in crafting, this is the only time that I think being negative can be a positive thing.  So let's use the negative portion of our die cuts to get creative!

I started by cutting a Dotted Scallop Oval out of Celadon Green Soft Finish Cardstock and then cutting the Leafy Branch #5 out of the center of that.  I then created a shaker by using a piece of Clear Acetate and double sided foam tape to create the shaker and adding tiny seed beads into the negative space.  The shaker is backed with a piece of True Green Soft Finish Cardstock.

I cut a set of Roses from Perfect Pink Soft Finish Cardstock and added  a bit more color using Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  The sentiment from General Sentiments is stamped onto a Stitched Fishtail Banner.

If you'd like to join in on the fun, visit the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog for more information and then get using those negative pieces!  You could win a Background Die Prize pack which includes: heart background; circles background; chevron background and diamond background to 3 winners.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit
