Today's video over at The Daily Marker, Kathy did a really cool graphic design using a roll of painters tape to create her initial design and then colored it and added doodling. Doodling must be the new fad as Ashley Cannon Newell had a great video on using your stamps and doodling this past Monday.
So my design isn't as graphic nor as great as Kathy's but here is where it started using a heart die cut as my tracing piece.

I started by lightly marking a cross in the center of my panel using a pencil so I could erase the lines.

I then centered the heart die onto each pole of my cross and traced the heart using a Micron pen.

I then moved the die so that each lobe of the heart connected with one lobe of the hearts I already traced. Confused yet? I'm terrible at describing these kinds of details. Hopefully you can tell by the picture how I did it. ;0)

Then I started coloring 3 sections using a red Copic marker. Moving to the right red section, I colored three sections in a yellow Copic, so the yellow was colored over the red in that one section, creating orange. I continued on using green and blue creating this rainbow effect I added some white doodles using a gel pen. Here's my finished card:

My next card focused on the coloring technique from THIS VIDEO from Jennifer McGuire using Copics and distress inks.

I used the new set "To A Cute Little Chickie" from My Creative Time. I colored my little chickie using a yellow Copic and initially distressed the outside of the chickie using Tim Holtz Mustard Seed but it didn't really show up, so I used Walnut Stain, which was a little too dark. Oh well, it is what it is! I put the little chickie in a basket from MFT Easter Blessings and then finished him off with some Wink of Stella. A fast new favorite!
