Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #400 ~ BIG Celebration!

Hello friends~  Today is a big day for Cupcake Inspirations as we're celebrating 400 challenges this week!

There's so much going on and prizes to be won so you don't want to miss out on all the fun.

To celebrate our 400th challenge we are mixing things up just a little bit this week.  Each of the design team members got to choose their favorite inspiration photo from the past and combine it with this week's birthday theme.
Here's the inspiration photo I chose from challenge #287 and our birthday inspiration photo:
Challenge #287 was way before my time with the Cupcake clan but I just couldn't resist those adorable little packages with mushroom cupcakes and fairies.  Now on to my card:

I created rolling grassy hills using Frantic Stamper Stitched Grassy Grassy Hill Edgers with a watercolored sky in the background.  I added some Elizabeth Craft Designs Mushrooms, colored with Distress Inks and a blending tool and a Frantic Stamper Fairy & Flower, colored with Copics.  Some Memory Box Stitched Clouds float peacefully in the painted sky.

I hope you're encouraged to come visit the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and join in all the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ Birthday Owls

Good morning friends~ This is my last post as guest designer for Crazy 4 Challenges and what a fun time it's been!  Thanks so much Frances and all the talented designers for having me.  It's been a blast to join you all!

Anyone who knows Frances from Stamp Owl's Studio, knows that she loves owls.  She also just celebrated a birthday so this week's challenge card is one that  I sent to her for her special day.  I hope she gets it before this post goes live, but if not, your card is on it's way to Australia!  Hope your birthday was wonderful Frances!

I made a pop up card for this fun challenge and of course I included some very colorful party owls.

This is the front of the card.  Nothing too showy because the inside is supposed to be the center of attention.

I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Lots of Pops to create the pop up feature.  Then I added owls from Clearly Besotted, the fun and quirky cake from SugarPea Designs Bring On The Cake, Pinpoint Balloons from Memory Box and the banner pennants  from Lots of Pops.

Just look at all this dimension!!  The ideas on how you could use this pop up are endless and it couldn't get any easier to make a fun filled pop up card.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog and join in on the fun!  Don't forget to wish Frances a Happy Birthday while you're there!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Dies R Us ~ Up Up And Away!

Good morning ~ It's my turn over at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog today.
Masculine cards can be challenging for me so when I saw the Hot Air Balloons from Elizabeth Craft Designs, I just knew this would be perfect for a masculine card.

I started by cutting a Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud die out of a piece of scrap paper and using it as a stencil to create the sky scene using distress ink and a blending tool.

Next, I cut two mountain ranges using Impression Obsession Mountain Landscape Layers and layered them over the cloud background.

I cut the Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Air Balloons out of Soft Finish Cardstock and added color using distress inks and a blending tool and assembled the balloons.  I used a computer generated sentiment and cut it using an Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Fishtail Banner and finished the card off.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us

Playing Along with PTI

I finally found time to spend in my craft room making cards for PTI's big anniversary celebration so I hope you don't mind if I post them all on one post to make it easier.
I'll start with Day 2 ~ using a repetitive pattern.  I used this darling set called Bunny Basket.  I bought this set last year and had to wait a whole year to use it because I had all my Easter cards finished when it arrived.
I stamped a coordinating envelope while I was stamping.  I adore these cute little chicks!!

My birdhouse using Nichole's fun free template, adorned with leaves from Embellished Elegance and Button Stacks Dies.

I went a little wild and crazy on this card using a grid stencil and distress inks to create the background.  It was so colorful and busy I almost didn't use it but in the end decided that this fun flamingo and pineapple from Some Like It Hot could pull it off.

This card is a little more tamed down, don't you think?

Another card using Embellished Elegance.

You can find all the details of PTI's 10th Anniversary Celebration on Nichole's blog.

I'll also be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Make Your Own Flowers
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ For A Special Lady
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #398 ~ Color Challenge

Good morning friends~  It's time for a new challenge going on over at Cupcake Inspirations.  We're drawing near to the 400th challenge so you'll want to be watching for some fun and exciting prizes ahead.

This week's challenge is a color challenge:
Be sure to use the colors FERN, ROSE and STEEL
in your project or colors like them.

Our sponsor this week is D.R.S. Designs

They're offering 15% off your next order to the winner.

The generous folks at DRS Designs sent us two stamps of our choice and I chose this lovely Spring Crocus along with an Easter sentiment but I chose to use a birthday sentiment on this card instead because I was in need of a birthday card.  Thanks so much for your kind gift!  I know I'll be using this lovely spring image a lot!!

A strip of sparkly pink paper and polka dotted paper really help define the stamped panel.
I colored the image using Copics and added some Clear Wink Of Stella to sparkle them up!

I added a file tab sentiment and finished it off with some iridescent sequins.

Be sure to stop by the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog to see how my talented team mates were inspired and join in on the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Crazy 4 Challenges ~Moth's / Butterflies

Hello~  This is my second weeks as guest designer for Crazy 4 Challenges and I've so enjoyed the inspiration and playing along with this talented group of ladies.

This week, we're to be inspired by moth's or butterflies.  Bonus if you use a flower on your project!
I used a vintage inspired image that I found on the internet a very long time ago.  It's been sitting in a box just waiting to be used.

Please hop on over to the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to join in on the fun!  Your card doesn't have to be vintage....

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Blessings~ Birgit

Dies R Us ~ Birthday Pop-Up

Good morning friends~ Do you have a special birthday that you want to celebrate with more than just a typical card?  I'm up over at the Dies R Us blog today and I've got a fun pop-up card for you.

Before we get to today's card I want to remind you that  DRU is having a Design Team Call.  If you want to design for a very generous company and get an amazing discount on a large line of quality dies, then here's your chance!  I have enjoyed my time with DRU and the amazing gals on the design team for a year now and I have learned so much and made some lasting friendships.  You can find all the details of the design team call HERE.

Now on to my card:

Let's start with the inside of the card first.
Elizabeth Craft Designs offers many Pop-Up choices.  They're so easy to use and the design possibilities are endless.
I chose this wonderful cake plate from Elizabeth Craft Designs Christmas Pudding which I have enjoyed using since it was first released.  I add a bit of color using Distress inks, add the trim pieces and embellish with Stickles.  The Impression Obession Cake Set is colored in the same way and I added some Glossy Accents to the frosting.  YUM!
These banner posts are part of the Lots of Pops die set.  I cut four of them so that I can double them up for stability.  This is what the banner will be strung through.

I cut several Poppystamps Celebration Balloons out of white card stock. I added color using Distress Inks and attached them to some balloon strings.

Assemble the inside of the card using each pop up for different design elements.
I cut a Marianne Designs Basic Shapes Square, which was purchased during one of the many Dies R Us Special Order events.  (Be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you can be notified when these take place.)

I like to keep the front of the card fairly simple.  I added this adorable Panda / Bear from Marianne Designs (another special order die) and gave him a little cupcake to hold and added a candle from the Impression Obsession Cake Set.  Two more Poppystamps Balloons float above the panda to add fun this special celebration.

Here is a list of dies that I used that can be found at Dies R Us:

The other dies I used can be purchased during their next Special Order event so please sign up for their newsletter.
