Another Window Screen Card

Hello~ I'm here with another card for the Make it Monday challenge over at Nichole's blog. I worked a little closer to Melissa Phillips tutorial with this one.
See the post below for my other entry and the flower sets I used. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Window Screen Card

Hello friends~ I'm here to post this card I made using the awesome tutorial from Melissa Phillips for the Make it Monday challenge over at Nichole's blog. I really enjoy Melissa's tutorials and I totally love her sweet paper crafting style. Here's the card I made for the challenge.
For this card, I pulled out a few of my favorite flower sets from PTI including Ruby Rose, Rosy Posie and Happiness in Bloom. I used one of my favorite color combinations of Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Canyon Clay and Limeade Ice. Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Greatest Blessings

Hello~~ I'm here with one more card that I made for the warm & cozy challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. I enjoyed working with these warm tones so much, I jumped right in and made another card using them.

This card uses all scraps from my stash. I love it when I can do that!! The fancy rectangles were cut using Spellbinders and the tea cups are from PTI. However, I did add a lacy border to the rim of the tea cup using the small rectangle frame. I simply cut the edge to fit the tea cups and added a single flower from the border punch, to the center of each of the tea cups.
The flower border is cut using a Martha Stewart border punch and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

The Happiest of Birthdays!

Hello~~ I'm back with another card that I made today for the challenge over at the Sweet 'n Sassy blog. It's a birthday challenge and since I love their wonderful bird images so much, I chose to use their Goldfinch image from the set Under His Wings.

A Kraft cardstock base and some scraps from my stash were used along with a flower border punch from Martha Stewart. I stamped the image using Fine Linen ink from PTI and then colored the bird with my copics. I used the copic black liner to do all the line work and accents to the bird. To the top right corner, I added a small green banner cut from scraps and added two prima flowers which I topped off with a little red bow. Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

You're My Cup of Tea

Hello paper lovers~ I'm posting this card I made today to fill two challenges. The Kraft Journal is hosting a sketch challenge #156 and The Shabby Tea Room is having a warm & cozy challenge. Here's the card I made to meet both of those challenges.
I used a Kraft cardstock base. The tea cup is from PTI and I believe the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I embossed all of the cream colored cardstock pieces using embossing folders from sissix and the smallest piece, that the tea cup is on, is embossed using a scrap piece of burlap that I folded around my piece of cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug. Twill and lace are added to the center and I think they give it a very neutral, feminine touch. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Baby It's Cold Outside

Hello paper crafting friends. I'm entering this card into the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. I was totally inspired by the challenge photo to use ice skates as my focal point.

The background paper is some I had in my scraps. I also used the same paper to cut the ice skates from using my cricut machine and Winter Woodland cartridge. I created the layered ice skates by cutting them out in black as well and layering the printed paper over the top. I added German silver glitter to the blades to make them shiny. The red banner is cut using a banner die from PTI onto more pp that was in my stash. The fancy square was cut using a spellbinders die onto some vintage advertising which I printed myself on my printer. The swirly flourish die is from MFT. After layering all my elements I added a pretty silver ribbon and bow. Notice the bow? I made it using a very large serving fork according to a video I watched on using a Zutter Bow-it-All tool, which I don't have. Not too bad for making do without one. This was a great card as I used only scraps to make it. I like it when I can do that! Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Fusion #2 Card Challenge

Good morning~ I'm here to post this card that I'm entering into the challenge over at Fusion Card Challenge Blog. I love these colors together!! They're bold yet soft. If that makes any sense... at least it does to me. Anyway, here's my card for the challenge.
For this card I used a cream colored cardstock base and the banner is cut from paper I had in my stash. I used Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and die cuts for the flowers. The smaller, flowers were punched using So Saffron cardstock and a SU! punch and shaped with a stylus and layered. I added Black Diamond Stickles to the center of all the flowers and as an accent along the lower corner of the fancy rectangle frame which was also cut from So Saffron cardstock, using a spellbinders die. The scripture verse is also from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. Thanks for visiting! Blessings~ Birgit

Valentine Love

Hello crafty friends. I've been blissfully playing in my craft room making some Valentine decor. Here are two framed vintage Valentine's collages I made, one which I'll be entering into the challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

On this one I used Greetings from Paris from Just Rite Stamps to create the vintagey post card. I made the center of the medallion using PTI's Delightful Doilies and added a couple of ribbon tails and button and twine to finish it off.
The vintage Valentine image is an old sticker I've had in my stash for years so I can't give credit to the company.
This next one was a little hard to photograph without a glare from the glass.
I printed off a BINGO Card and added a red paper doily that I had in my stash. I made the mini envelope and the ticket and Valentine images are both printed from images I found online. I added some stickles to give it some vintage bling.

Thanks for visiting! Blessings~ Birgit

Vintage Valentine

Good morning crafting friends. I'm here this morning to add this card to the challenge going on at Really Reasonable Ribbon. The challenge is Valentine / Love.
This card uses a vintage image found online. I added some stickles to the doves wings and around the edge of the card. The heart was cut using a Quickutz die and the tickets were printables found online as well. The heart border is cut using a PTI die. I added a sheer white ribbon to the top because I wanted it to be light and also to allow the heart border to show through. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Kraft Journal Color Challenge

Hello again! I'm here to post another card I made for the Kraft Journal Color Challenge. I'm so loving this color combo, I couldn't help but make another card!
On this card I simply die cut lots of hearts in different printed papers and cardstock. Once I adhered them to my card, I added white gel pen, stitched lines on each heart for detail. The scalloped lace and scalloped circle are both from MFT Blueprints die set. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Kraft Journal Color Challenge

I just recently found the Kraft Journal Blog and I'm so glad I did! I love, love, LOVE working with Kraft paper so I'm excited to join in on my first challenge with them. Anything goes with Kraft card stock. It's a basic necessity, like working with white or black. I love the natural feel it gives any project. Did I mention that I love Kraft?? Anyway, here's a card that I made for their color challenge. The color combo is an awesome one! So yummy!
I used a variety of different flower stamps to create the background which I stamped with Versa Mark then chalked over to give them color. I love how the background sort of blended together giving a very soft, overall feel. I used the Happy Hexagons cover plate from PTI for the next layer allowing the background image to shine through! I die cut several flower images from PTI and stamped them with Versa Mark and chalked them as well, using two colors for each flower to give it visual interest. I intentionally left the centers of each flower white. I placed them onto a vellum banner and stamped my sentiment at the bottom and heat embossed with black. The sentiment is also from PTI. Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Sweet Snowman Fun!

Hello fellow card makers! I'm here to post a card that I made for the challenge over at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog. This weeks challenge is snow men, or snow people. I couldn't resist using this darling vintage image that was a freebie online.
I started with a base of white which I splattered using thinned paint in a spray bottle. I created the Post Card image using Vintage Postcard from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I then mounted the white base on a black script decorative paper. I cut the image using Spellbinders ovals and mounted it on a mint green decorative oval from Spellbinders. I added a pretty sheer pink ribbon and bow and topped it with a layer of glittery snowflakes and some thread.
I also added some Martha Stewart glitter to the image. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Fun With Sketches

Hello paper pals~ I'm discovering that this blogging thing is much harder than I thought. It's really hard to get people to visit unless you're really well known, which I'm not. Anyway, I'll keep plugging along. I'm joining this weeks sketch challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room.
I used an image that I found online and thought that the papers from Graphic 45 French Country went along perfectly! Thanks so much for looking! blessings~ Birgit

Crafty Secrets Linky Party and The Shabby Tea Room

Hello paper loving friends! Just popping in to share a card I made for two challenges today. Crafty Secrets is having their linky party and I'm also entering this card into the Shabby Tea Rooms so romantic challenge. So without further adieu, here's my card.

For this card, I used an image from Crafty Secrets from their Birds & Botanicals Images and Journal Notes, which I layered on some old music paper and a background of different pink printed papers. For the sunburst papers, I used PTI Hello Sunshine die cuts. I layered some rolled roses and a daisy, which I'm still learning to roll properly, onto a soft pastel vine of green leaves that was cut using the Leafy Flourish die from MFT. I added a sheer ribbon bow with a button and flower. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge

Happy Tuesday! I'm here with a card for the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. The challenge this week is to use ribbon or twine on your Christmas card. Here's my card:

I fell in love with this paper from My Minds Eye and couldn't bring myself to cover it up too much. I added a framed sentiment from Crafty Secrets and added looped ribbons to the bottom of the frame. It seemed like it needed something in the lover left corner so I added some ruby gems. Thanks for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Pink Ribbon Anniversary Card

Good morning and Happy New Year! I'm kicking the new year off with an entry for the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge using pink ribbon. This couldn't have come at a more perfect time as I just made this anniversary card for an anniversary coming up on Jan. 3 and I just happened to use pink ribbon! So without further adieu, here's my card.

On this card I used embossed paper from Doodlebug Design for the background and a paper doily. The postcard stamps are all from Greetings from Paris from Just Rite Stamps. The anniversary sentiment is from PTI, which I double stamped using Sweet Blush ink and again with black ink to give it a shadowed look. The stamped flourish image on the small heart is from MFT and the hearts are all cut using Spellbinders and embossed with sizzix embossing folders. The embossed flower image is one that I fussy cut from a vintage greeting card. The pink bow is done using baby pink seam binding from RRR. I added a vintage hat pin and some punched flowers with pearl bead centers. I used Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet and Smokey Shadow inks from PTI and Tuxedo Black from Memento. Thanks for much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit
