Vintage Christmas Crafting

Good morning.  Are you all ready for Christmas?  I've been sorely lacking motivation  and inspiration to make cards recently, so I decided to pull together some other crafting projects using vintage things I've been collecting for while.  I'm always on the lookout for old tin, bottle brush trees and vintage ornaments.
This is a picture heavy post so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I'll be linking one of these up to Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~ "If it's Christmassy, Link it!"

Merry Christmas to you all!  May it be filled with God's greatest blessings.

Vintage Style Christmas Card ~ Double D Challenge ~ Poinsettia

Good morning stamping friends.  There's a new challenge starting today over at Double D Challenge.  The theme is "Poinsettia".

What a grand opportunity to use the Sizzix Poinsettia Texture Fades Embossing Folder again!  This was designed from a real vintage Christmas poinsettia. You may recall this post here, where I made a similar card.  I embossed a panel of 140 lb Canson Watercolor Paper and water colored it using Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paint.

Once it was dry, I rubbed my Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad randomly over the top and sprinkled on some Studio Katia Icy Sparkle Crystals.

It's so pretty in real life.  The sentiment is from PTI.  I thought it had a nice vintage style font to it.

Sleigh Bells Ring, Are You Listening? ~ DRU ~ Winter Wonderland

Hello stamplings ~  There's a new challenge starting up today over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is "Winter Wonderland".  I knew right away that I wanted to use one of the Christmas Carol stamps from Marianne Designs for this challenge.  These are available during their special order events, so be sure to sign up for their news letter so you can be notified when they take place.

I stamped the Winter Wonderland sentiment in the center of an A2 sized card and added some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink along the bottom and let it gently fade to white toward the top.

I cut the Poppystamps Capri Sleigh out of red and silver mirror card stock and assembled it.  I cut a curvy hill using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border and added some Moondust Stickles to the top edge to give it some winter sparkle.

The flowers in the top corner were made using Dee's Distinctively Mini Poinsettias.  I dabbed a bit of Tim Holtz Texture Paste to the edges of the petals and added some Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter to the center of the poinsettia.    The brown twigs are Impression Obsession Pine Twigs.

You can find all the details and join in on the fun by clicking here.  You could be the next winner of a DRU Gift Certificate!

I wanted to remind you that we have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has opened a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!  We'd love for you to visit by clicking on the links above or by clicking here.

Santa's Helper Gift Tags ~ TSOC ~ Christmas / Winter

Good morning friends~  I've got some Christmas tags for you today using the new challenge going on over at The Sisterhood of Crafters "Anything Goes Christmas or Winter" challenge.

I got the Sizzix dies called Santa's Helper from Tim Holtz back in July and couldn't wait to use them so it's actually mid summer as I type this. This seems weird to me that you'll be reading this post when it's cold and we could possibly have snow on the ground.  Anyway, here's each of the tags I made for this challenge:

There are lots of little pieces in this set so I cut each of the package dies out of 5 different colors of cardstock and alternated colors while I assembled the gifts.

You can stack them or use them separately and there are different size gifts so this set is very versatile.  You could also use these gifts for birthday or any other gift giving occasion.  You could also use the skinniest gift as a book die and line them up on a shelf.  I think I need to try that!

This darling little elf stole my heart last season when it was first released and I didn't want another season to go by without him coming to stay at my house. I think he's just precious!

Now it's YOUR turn to play along.  You can find all the details at The Sisterhood of Crafters or by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing what you create!

'Tis The Season ~ Double D Challenge ~ Santa Hats

Good morning stamping friends.  There's a new challenge starting today over at Double D Challenge.  The theme is "Santa Hats".

As soon as I saw the striped hat in the inspiration photo, I knew I had to give my Santa hat some stripes using this darling Penny Black image, Let's Chill.

I colored the image with Copics using the packaging as a guide.

I added the sweet Heart String banner, also from Penny Black, which was colored with copics as well and added it to a blue plaid background.

I hope you'll join in on the fun by clicking here

Peaceful Nativity ~ DRU ~ Christmas

Hello stamplings ~  There's a new challenge starting up today over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog and the theme is Christmas.

In keeping with the true meaning of why we celebrate this most holy of holidays, I made a quick and easy CAS card using Nativity Christmas Scene from Nellie's Choice, which I purchased during one of the Special Order Events at DRU.

I framed out the beautiful scene using the Snowflake Frame by Penny Black.  This die has such beautiful detail and it cuts the framed out window and all those lovely snowflakes in one pass through the die cut machine.

Did I mention this was quick and easy and CAS?
You can find all the details and join in on the fun by clicking here.  You could be the next winner of a DRU Gift Certificate!  While you're there, be sure to sign up for their news letter so you can be one of the first to be notified when new dies arrive, sales events and when they're having one of their Special Order Events.
