12 Kits of Occasion ~ March

Can you believe that March is over already?  That means it's time for the 12 Kits of Occasion gals to post their amazing cards!

This month's hostess was the incredibly talented Jeanne Jachna of A Kept Life

Her kit really was "Out Of This World"!  I had so much fun creating with this kit!  Everything she included was new to me so it was incredibly fun stepping outside of my creative box.  Thank you so much Jeanne!!!

This was the first card I made.  I blended on lots of color and then went over it all with black distress ink to create a galactic night sky.  I spritzed it with a bit of water for more interest.  Aren't these rockets darling!  I'm so glad Jeanne put two of them in our kits.  ;0)

Jeanne included this wonderful stitched swirl panel of water color card stock and I was afraid I had ruined it by spritzing on three colors of Heidi Swapp Shimmer Mist.  It looked muddy at first but once it dried, it didn't look too terrible so I kept moving forward.  This rocket looks out of this world with those stunning swirly rhinestones that were included in the kit.

Jeanne had this wonderful sentiment in the kit that really stumped me until I thought about making it look like it was painted on a fence.  I stamped a wood grain background and cut each board out using an MFT die.  I staggered the sizes of the boards to create this fence.  The moon and stars were included in the kit but the kitty is from my stash.

Jeanne also included all these wonderful patterned papers in the kit.  I printed a picture of the moon on my printer and cut it in half to use on this card and one you'll see further down.

This card is my favorite!  I just love the colors, clouds and sweet patterned paper.  I cut the 3-2-1 blast-off sentiment out using a cloud die from Memory Box.

Jeanne thinks of everything!  She even included these little wiggle eyes that I used on two of the aliens in the kit.  Talk about CUTE!!

Here's the other half of that printed moon.  Isn't this little astronaut darling??

Here's my last card.  Can you see where I messed up?  I heat embossed the "Have A" and "Birthday" but I smudged the "have a" before it had a chance to cool off.  WHOOPS!  That's ok because once you open the card, you'll completely forget about the mistake.
Here's the inside of the card.  I made it a pop-up using all these fun little planets and aliens that were included in the kit.

A close up of all the dimension.

I'm so happy that you stopped by to see my cards using Jeanne's fun kit.  Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my talented teamies and Jeanne's 4 guest designers used their kits.

Dies R Us ~ Easter Chicks

Good morning friends~  Easter is just around the corner and I've got a cute little chickie card posted at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog today.
My term with Dies R Us has come to an end so I'd like to thank Dani and Darlene for this wonderful experience of designing for them.  I've really enjoyed working with this amazing company and extremely talented team of designers!!  I also wanted to thank all the design team members for their encouragement and support.  I feel as though I've made some lasting friendships.
Now on to my card:

Ready for some Easter goodness?  I started by cutting a white card stock panel using the beautiful Penny Black Border Edgers to give it that lacy edge.  I mounted it onto a piece of light blue card stock.

Next I created the background scene by cutting two Frantic Stamper Stitched Grassy Hill Edges and adhering them to a sky blue scrap of card stock.  I cut them using an Elizabeth Craft Stitched Rectangle.

I cut these adorable little Dies R Us Chicks out of printed paper and rubbed a bit of Mustard Seed Distress ink onto them.

Cut the word "Joy" using Impression Obsession Joy out of silver card stock.

Once the card front was assembled, I tied some spring green string around the panel to add more interest and texture to the card and adhered it to an A2 sized card front.

Here is a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us:

Cut Cardstock ~ Easter Treats

Hello and Happy Easter Season!  I just love sending treats to all my great little's on special holidays as they're all in different states and it's fun for them to get some "happy mail" from their great auntie Birgit.   Today's project uses the wonderful Curious Metallics Cardstock.  I do love the sheen on this beautiful cardstock and it cuts like butter using any dies.

Let's get started:
I purchased this cute mini egg carton in the dollar section at Target.  I just knew it would be fun to decorate up for Easter.  I cut an MFT scalloped rectangle out of White Gold Curious Metallic Cardstock and adhered it to the top of the egg carton using Score-Tape Premium Double Sided Adhesive.  I tied a strip of ribbon around the box, leaving the bow to the right side of the box.
I cut this wonderful Tutti Designs Floral Bunny out of Chocolate Curious Metallic Cardstock and backed the negative spaces using scraps of cardstock from my stash.
I cut this detailed Easter Egg from Top Dog Dies using Cryogen White Curious Metallic Cardstock for the background and Lime Curious Metallic Cardstock for the detailed part of the egg and layered them.  I wish you could see this in real life as it's truly stunning!
The egg is adhered to the scalloped rectangle using Glue Dots and the bunny is adhered using Double Sided Foam Adhesive Squares to add dimension.
I finished it off by adhereing some lovely dimensional flowers using Glue Dots.

I hope you enjoyed today's project.  Curious Metallic Cardstock is on sale for the rest of this month so ~~~hop~~~ on over to the Cut Cardstock Store take advantage of this awesome deal!    You can also find us on FacebookTwitter and Pinterest.

I'll be adding this project to the following challenges:

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #400 ~ BIG Celebration!

Hello friends~  Today is a big day for Cupcake Inspirations as we're celebrating 400 challenges this week!

There's so much going on and prizes to be won so you don't want to miss out on all the fun.

To celebrate our 400th challenge we are mixing things up just a little bit this week.  Each of the design team members got to choose their favorite inspiration photo from the past and combine it with this week's birthday theme.
Here's the inspiration photo I chose from challenge #287 and our birthday inspiration photo:

Challenge #287 was way before my time with the Cupcake clan but I just couldn't resist those adorable little packages with mushroom cupcakes and fairies.  Now on to my card:

I created rolling grassy hills using Frantic Stamper Stitched Grassy Grassy Hill Edgers with a watercolored sky in the background.  I added some Elizabeth Craft Designs Mushrooms, colored with Distress Inks and a blending tool and a Frantic Stamper Fairy & Flower, colored with Copics.  Some Memory Box Stitched Clouds float peacefully in the painted sky.

I hope you're encouraged to come visit the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and join in all the fun!

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ Birthday Owls

Good morning friends~ This is my last post as guest designer for Crazy 4 Challenges and what a fun time it's been!  Thanks so much Frances and all the talented designers for having me.  It's been a blast to join you all!

Anyone who knows Frances from Stamp Owl's Studio, knows that she loves owls.  She also just celebrated a birthday so this week's challenge card is one that  I sent to her for her special day.  I hope she gets it before this post goes live, but if not, your card is on it's way to Australia!  Hope your birthday was wonderful Frances!

I made a pop up card for this fun challenge and of course I included some very colorful party owls.

This is the front of the card.  Nothing too showy because the inside is supposed to be the center of attention.

I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Lots of Pops to create the pop up feature.  Then I added owls from Clearly Besotted, the fun and quirky cake from SugarPea Designs Bring On The Cake, Pinpoint Balloons from Memory Box and the banner pennants  from Lots of Pops.

Just look at all this dimension!!  The ideas on how you could use this pop up are endless and it couldn't get any easier to make a fun filled pop up card.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog and join in on the fun!  Don't forget to wish Frances a Happy Birthday while you're there!!

Dies R Us ~ Up Up And Away!

Good morning ~ It's my turn over at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog today.
Masculine cards can be challenging for me so when I saw the Hot Air Balloons from Elizabeth Craft Designs, I just knew this would be perfect for a masculine card.

I started by cutting a Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud die out of a piece of scrap paper and using it as a stencil to create the sky scene using distress ink and a blending tool.

Next, I cut two mountain ranges using Impression Obsession Mountain Landscape Layers and layered them over the cloud background.

I cut the Elizabeth Craft Designs Hot Air Balloons out of Soft Finish Cardstock and added color using distress inks and a blending tool and assembled the balloons.  I used a computer generated sentiment and cut it using an Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Fishtail Banner and finished the card off.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us
