12 Kits of Occasion

Good morning everyone!  It's time for another 12 Kits of Occasion post.  I can't believe how quickly time flies when you're having fun!  This month our hostess with the mostest was Sharron Gregory from Papillon Wings.  I had the opportunity of meeting Sharron twice, once when we were in Kansas and then when she and her sweet hubby Harry came to Maine for a vacation.  She is the easiest and most lovely person to talk with and I adore her!  Anyone who knows her knows she loves animals and being that I'm an animal lover too, I enjoyed hearing all her stories about the volunteer work she does at her local zoo and botanical garden.  Anyway, I could go on and on about our time together but I know you came to see cards.  Sharron put together a wonderful fall inspired kit titled "Autumn Days".  This kit is filled with the warmth of friendship and thanksgiving.  Thanks so much Sharron for this festive fall kit!
Sweet!  Right?  Here's the cards I've made so far using this kit.
I fell in love with this sweet Penny Black image, so this was the first image I grabbed to color up and bring life to.

And who can resist Stampingbella?  Not me!!  This giant pie girl just makes my heart smile.

There were so many beautiful printed papers in Sharron's kit.  I wanted to hoard them all.  And how about that giant acorn???  LOVE!!!   You can find a complete supply list over at the 12 Kits of Occasion blog.

I think this card is my favorite.  It was so quick to make using the adorable papers Sharon included in the kit.

I hope you'll stop by the 12 Kits of Occasion blog to see how my talented teamies were inspired to use Sharron's kit.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Dream BIG, Give LOVE

Hello friends and thanks for stopping by.
I'm popping in with a warm and wintery card for the Time Out Challenge.

I feel like this stamp called "Frida Loves Frosty" from Stampingbella fits the sentiment from Time Out Challenges perfectly.  The cool embossed frame is  Creative Expressions "Festive Frames ~ Snowball" die.  I love the stitching and the embossed snowflakes.

I'll also be adding this card to Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes

A Special Boo To You!

Hello crafty friends!  I'm just popping in with a card that I made a couple of weeks ago that just happens to fit in with a couple of challenges going on right now.
Who doesn't love cute little Newton from Newton's Nook?  He's irresistibly cunning no matter what mischief he's getting himself into.

I stamped this cute image from Newton's Nook Perfect Pumpkin, stamping the spider and web in the top corner.  I then cut the panel using Impression Obsession's Crazy Stitched Set and colored the image using copics.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest that added some doodling for fun.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Halloween Fun

Do you like vintage Halloween images?  I do!
In fact, I found this fun Pumpkin Toy die from Sizzix that's an older die but it looked so retro to me, I had to have it.

This jester-like jack-o-lantern made me think of images like the one below.

I used scraps from my scrap box to cut each piece of the die so no new papers were harmed when creating these.

I turned these cuties into postcards on the back instead of making A-2 style cards, just to be different.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:

Simon Says Monday ~ Spooky
Simon Says Wednesday ~ Fall / Autumn Colors

Dies R Us ~ Pumpkins and/or Apples

Happy Fall everyone!  Don't you just love the crisp days of autumn?  I do and I'm especially enjoying creating beautiful fall cards in my crafty space.  Today's cards were made for the new challenge starting over at the Dies R Us Challenge blog.  The theme is Pumpkins and/ or Apples.
Dies R Us carries the best lines of dies from so many amazing companies and this set from Sue Wilson, called Wooden Garden Cart is one of my favorites right now.

I cut all of the dies from the set out of Elizabeth Craft Designs Soft Finish Cardstock and added color using Distress Oxide Inks with blending sponges.

By keeping the dies in the die cuts and adding ink through the openings, shows the wonderful detail of the dies. I used printed paper from Echo Park's Fall Break.

The die set includes all these fabulous fruits and vegetables, and I just had to make another card using the rest of the die cuts.

To this card, I added a rake from Marianne Designs which is a special order event at Dies R Us.  The sentiment is from MFT's Harvest Mouse

You can join in on this fun, festive, fall challenge here.  The winner receives a Dies R Us Gift Certificate.

Hope you have a happy fall Y'all!

One Word Sentiment

I recently found a new challenge called the Alphabet Challenge
Every other Friday at 9:00 am, they set a new challenge using the letters from the alphabet with a theme for each one.
This week the letter is "O" and it stands for "One Word Sentiment".  Interesting and challenging!  Right?
I pulled out some older stamps and dies for this one.  I feel like I get so caught up in having to have all the newest stamps from so many amazing companies, that I neglect using my older supplies that I've enjoyed in the past.

So for this card, I used a postage stamp background from PTI and added the "LOVE" die from MFT Stamps, "LOVE Centerpiece" that I cut out of some music print paper that I've had in my stash for a long time.  I decorated each letter using stamps from WPlus9's "Fresh Cut Florals", an old favorite of mine.

I hope you like today's card.  I encourage you to pull out some of your older supplies and give them some love.

I'll also be adding this to the following challenges:

Words of Encouragement

Everyone is going through something and we all need encouragment from time to time. You never know when the opportunity will arise for you to brighten someone elses day, whether it's a smile as you pass a weary mom toting three small kids in the grocery store or letting the person behind you step in line in front of you at the cash register.  I was happy to spend some time in my craft room playing with a couple of new stamp sets I recently got from Altenew called Angelique Motifs and encouraging sentiments from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.

The flowers in Angelique Motifs set are incredibly beautiful and I just love seeing them come to life as I stamped each layer of color.

I stamped two different background stamps on this card.  A grid pattern and a French botanical stamp from Heidi Swapp.   The sentiments on this card and the card below is from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps "Be Encouraged".

For the flowers I used Altenew's Red Sunset and Warm and Cozy ink cubes.  The leaves are stamped using colors from Sweet Dreams

I love this sentiment from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps "Hymn Blocks" set.  If you love the old hymns and the encouraging words they give, you must check out this set!!
I've provided direct links on each item I've used for your convenience.  By clicking on them, I get a small percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you.  Thanks so much for shopping along with me and sending encouragment to others.

I'll be entering one of these cards into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Time Out Challenge ~ Breast Cancer Awareness (Last card "Bright Hope for Tomorrow")

I hope these cards bring you some encouragement today as they brought encouragement to my heart as I was making them.

Two Cards Using One Die ~ Dies R Us ~ Anything Goes

Good morning friends~  There's a new challenge starting today over at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog and the theme is "Anything Goes".

Did you know that Dies R Us carries so much more than dies?  They have a whole line of Brusho Ink Powders.  I sprinkled several different colors onto a piece of wet watercolor cardstock and let the ink powders do their thing.

Once the cardstock was dry, I die cut the Memory Box Antique Corner Rose Label.  I also cut the same corner die out of a piece of white cardstock and created two cards using both the positive and negative space from the die cuts.

The stitched background panel is cut using Impression Obsession Crazy Stitched Set.  These dies might be my new favorites.  The crazy stitched lines are so fun!

Two cards for the price of one die!

You can find all the details of the challenge and join in on the fun here.
